Chapter 44 - Seven Soaring Swords sect's origin (Arc 7 finale)

Duso traveled around, in search for enlightenment. After beating up many anomalies and killing them with the help of the necklace, he still couldn't gain enlightenment. He tried fighting off beasts, but that didn't work out as well. With nothing to gain from the east, he decided to travel to the west. He didn't return to his family, because his main goal had changed to gaining enlightenment. He wanted to achieve power first, before he would try to get justice for himself. It didn't matter to him if he knew how to fight, because he knew that was nothing in comparison to powers that surpassed mortal limits.

In the Western region, he was still not able to gain enlightenment. That was until one day, when he heard the rumors of the Sword Family. He wondered if that family was able to gain their own enlightenment, and was excited to ask them about it. With the help of townspeople, he was able to know about the sacred grounds, and decided to head there.

'Not a bad place… Must be the works of immortals.' Was the thought of Duso Wen when the rumored sacred ground was in sight.

"I'm coming!" The voice of a woman was heard. It was Chang Hua with her bouncing melons that was running at the door the moment she saw a charming and handsome man with a similar age.

"Oh my, oh my~ What does such a charming man wants from this lonely lady?"

Duso Wen ignored her games, and went straight to the point. He talked about cultivation and enlightenment, which left everyone in the building confused. Seeing that they were confused, he asked if they were actual immortals, which they answered by explaining the core of their tales that everyone within the western region knew as long as they weren't living in an isolated village.

"So… The swords gave you power, and that's how all of you became immortals?"

"Something like that, yeah…" Ling Lan replied.

"I see…"

"Are you planning to become part of our family?!"

Chang Lan poked her fingers in embarrassment, as she muttered "I mean… Even if you don't get chosen, we can…"

"We'll see about that" He replied, before he stepped outside the building, and sat in a meditative position that the elders had taught him about, to focus on the energies around him. He was able to feel the auras of the two swords due to its strength, but he was only able to resonate with the sword that wasn't on the top of the hill. That sword's aura warped his focus whenever he tried to probe with it, which made him lose his concentration on it. Because he couldn't focus on that sword at all, he decided to make a connection to it, by trying to speak to eat with his mind.

'You are my destiny, aren't you?' he spoke in his mind.

The sword responded as he had expected, by trembling and moving itself from the ground. As it was in the air, it changed its angle and darted towards him within seconds. Duso wen placed his hand in front of his face with two fingers out, and brought the two fingers together the moment the sword stopped near his forehead. The group that was behind him were surprised by such display, including Ju Li. Chang Hua had probably even wetted herself when she saw such dominance.

"How…?" One of them questioned, but Duso Wen didn't answer. He was in deep thoughts, as he had fully synchronized with the sword after a touch. The sword was able to understand his intention, and gave him the information it knew about the universe. Therefore, he was able to figure out how to cultivate with conscious steps. Everything was about cores and expansions, and he was able to figure out that a body existed in the same way. With his information he was able to create a cultivation technique.

'A mortal body is an incomplete body that can still be completed. The expansions are there, but the cores aren't. What I need to do is locate the inactive expansions, and fill them with spirit energy. Expansions are smaller cores spread all over the body, which is able to bring the spirit energy back to the mother core.'

Duso Wen got enlightened, and was able to gather spirit energy inside the smaller cores that he found was able to sense in his body. He brought the collected energy to where the mother core was supposed to be, and slowly tried to bring back the mother core.

"I did it… I did it! Hahahaha!" He started laughing maniacally, scaring the others.

Years passed by, and he was able to develop his cultivation method to a usable state. The sword of Vengeance decided to join them as well, since he was done with his slaughter. They began to develop the sacred grounds, and when Duso Wen told them that more people were able to join their road to immortality due to him having his cultivation method completed, they began opening their door for goodhearted disciples who had the potential to sense spirit energy. Duso Wen had visited his masters as well, and gave them the information for cultivation while suggesting to open up a sect for believers like them.

As many more centuries passed, and the eight Sword hadn't shown up, they decided to make themselves official. From that moment on the Seven Soaring Swords sect was established, and after that came the Devine Retribution Sect, and much later, the Astral Projection Sect.
