Chapter 47 - Hyung Woo’s Diary I

Jinwoon was staring at the book for a while before flipping it open. He scanned the first page before flipping the other pages. "He was really from Earth." He whispered in shock. Abin had told him that he was the same but he hadn't really believed it.

The book was a mix between a dairy and a research paper. Hyun Woo had many sections with calculations and findings of experiments. There were even sketches of animals, plants and the people of Pahodu. He turned back to the first page and started to read for real.

'My name is Oh Hyung Woo. Today is day; hundred and fifty since I've arrived on this plane. If you can read this, it means you're also a human from Earth. The people of this planet can't read or write any human language, so I feel safe that I'm not breaking any rules.'

'You might have experienced the same as me; dying on Earth but finding yourself in a white room with another human telling you that he'll send you somewhere. I was told to help the people of Pahodu from invading forces.'

'Only thing is that the being hasn't given me any tools to do this. I can't even speak with the natives! Every two weeks he would bring me to the white room and tell me what to do. I've explained that I need tools to do this but he or she refuses to do so.'

'What's so frustrating is that the being is getting angrier with each passing week. I don't know if you've experienced the same but it feels like I'm back on Earth working for a team leader that has no idea what he's doing.'

'Let me return back to why I decided to write my experience down. First of all, the being has promised that if I accomplish the task, it will send me back to Earth. Second is that it's easier to clear my mind by writing everything down.'

Jinwoon was confused after reading the first chapter. His interaction with Tae Jinwoon has been very different. Jinwoon knew that there were more beings but he thought that every human would get the same task.

'So what is Tae Jinwoon really after?' Jinwoon had a new question added to his growing list. He flipped to the second page. 'Day hundred and sixty. I had a screaming match with the being and I won! I demanded for him to help me instead of demanding the impossible.'

'For some reason after confronting him and not backing out, he has become more forthcoming. He has promised to give me more help. He has even given me the ability to finally talk with the Pahodu's, that will make things a little easier.'

'I've also learned a few things about the being in the white room. He has told me that his name is Buluc Chabtan. You might not know this but Buluc Chabtan was the Mayan god of war, violence, and sudden death (not to be confused with regular death which had its own deity).

'When I asked if he was the Mayan god, he denied it but I still have my doubts. I will start with my first task of creating a fighting tribe. I'll have to talk to the Old man Kuno but I'm sure he'll help me. He has been nice to me and helped me even when we couldn't talk to each other.'

Jinwoon's frown became deeper. He hadn't heard of the name Buluc Chabtan. He thought about it but nowhere in the information Tae Jinwoon had 'given' him could he find the name Buluc Chabtan. 'I wonder what names he's using.'

While traveling to Pahodu Jinwoon had been sorting and analysing all the information once more. He felt like his mind had become like a filing cabinet. He had made three sections. Earth Jinwoon, Old Yangge Jinwoon, Scientist Jinwoon and lastly the gaming information.

While putting everything into their own section he had stumbled on the player list. He discovered that there were at least a thousand players. Jinwoon had seen a name in red that kept decreasing in the ranks until it was 994th place.

Jinwoon had deduced that this player, Zuoane, might be Tae Jinwoon. He wasn't sure and hoped he could ask him the next time they met. He knew it wouldn't change anything but it would be at least one question answered.

Until now Hyung Woo's journal had given him only extra answers. He let out a deep sigh before flipping the page. ' Day hundred and sixty-four. Buluc Chabtan has ordered me to create warriors. Buluc Chabtan has promised me that he'll help.

'I have no idea what he'll do to help but I'm happy that this isn't an impossible task like before. I will need to select a tribe. I'll have to ask the elders if I can make a warrior tribe. I don't even know if they will agree. They will be basically sentencing a whole village to their death.'

'Day hundred and sixty-nine, After telling Kuno about the warriors, he has suggested choosing the Howa tribe. They are the only tribe that has successfully killed the Jinoco's. He has told me not to worry about the other elders.'

'Day hundred and seventy, I can't believe it but Old Kuno's has managed to convince the elders to create a warrior tribe. I don't think they would agree but the Howa have also agreed to be the warriors of the nation.'

The following two pages were full of drawings of weapons Hyung Woo wanted to make. There was also a list of the different tribes. Hyung Woo had added their physical traits, where in Pahodu they were located and much more information.

Jinwoon was excited to see the list. This would make it easy to make a developing plan for each village. 'Day hundred and eighty-eight. Buluc Chabtan was true to his word. After telling him about the tribe he sent me back without a word. He had really changed the Howa.'

Hyung Woo had drawn the before and after of the Howa. From a tribe that looked like all the other Pahudu but Jinwoon could see that the old Howa were already more animal-like compared to the other tribes.

The after showed that they had become even more cat-like. Hyung Woo showed that they had become taller. They had more muscles and their nails were like real claws. They also had pointy ears like elves. 'So that's how the Howa look like.'

'Day two hundred, Kuno and Buluc Chabtan have told me that the Jinoco's will be arriving soon. I don't think I'm ready to fight. Buluc Chabtan has told me not to worry and that he'll keep me safe. All I have to do is guide the Howa to victory.'

'Day three hundred, our fight with the Jinoco can be considered as a victory, at least that is what Buluc Chabtan said. We managed to repel them, we lost most of the resources but we managed to stop too much blood shed.'

'We still lost half of the Howa tribe but Buluc Chabtan said he'll make sure that there will be many new Howa. When I asked, he told me that as long as he had money or wins, he could create new people. That's why the Pahudu's were still thriving after every invasion.'

'I don't know how I feel about this. So the natives of these tribes are like NPC's for the player. I've noticed that after this fight, Buluc Chabtan has been telling me more and more. He's even explained a little about the game.'

'He and the other players are stuck in their white room playing war games. The number one player will be granted the chance to be reincarnated. When I asked about the other humans, he couldn't give me an answer.'

'All he told me was that I couldn't refuse because if I refuse, he will just "delete" me and find another dead soul. Us humans are just expandable tools to them. Me and you are not even special. He told me that there are millions, billions of souls waiting to be used in his and the others' games.'

Jinwoon stared at the words written on the page. This explains a lot. Jinwoon was slowly understanding that the players couldn't use the natives of the realms but they could use humans to make decisions.

Hyung Woo, he and many other humans were characters controlled by the player. While reading he saw that Tae Jinwoon had given him more freedom. Jinwoon had no idea why Tae Jinwoon was doing that. He was wondering if this was because Tae Jinwoon was nearly last.

He wanted to continue reading but he noticed that except for the soldiers, all the scientists were fast asleep. He looked at his timer and was shocked to see that it was already four in the morning. 'I better go to sleep. We have a lot to do tomorrow.'

He reluctantly closed the journal.
