"Is Jinwoon still angry at you?" Ki Ha whispered at Sung Hoon. The two of them were having dinner, while Jinwoon again refused to eat with them. "Why are you whispering? Jinwoon is up stairs." Sung Hoon frowned at Ki Ha. Ki Ha gave a silly smile and shrugged.
"But is he?" Sung Hoon closed his eyes in frustration. "Yes. I've tried everything but he refuses to talk to me and when he does it's only to yell." Ki Ha remembered one of those moments. "Do You want me to talk to him?"
Sung Hoon stared at Ki Ha like he was crazy. "He might tell me what is going on. Let me try?" Sung Hoon thought about it. He had already tried multiple times to talk to Jinwoon but it had all ended in them yelling and slamming doors.
Sung Hoon missed Jinwoon's beautiful smile. Since that day, he had only received glares and scowls. He wasn't sure if Ki Ha would be able to help him but he couldn't think of anything better. The wedding was in a few days and he was worried that Jinwoon wouldn't show up anymore.
"Alright. You can try." Ki Ha gave Sung Hoon a reassuring smile. "I'll do my best." After they had their dinner he stood up and walked up the stairs. He walked to Jinwoon's door and knocked. "Jinwoon? It's me, can I come in?"
The door opened. Jinwoon looked behind Ki Ha. "I'm alone." Jinwoon finally took a step back to let Ki Ha in. 'Does he hate Sung Hoon?' Ki Ha walked in. Since Jinwoon didn't eat downstairs anymore, the servants had put a table and chairs in his room. He didn't know but Sung Hoon had asked the servant to do this.
Ki Ha cleared his throat. "I asked Sung Hoon if I could talk to you." Jinwoon sat down with a cold look. "What do you want to talk about?" Ki Ha wanted to give Jinwoon his silly smile but he knew that Jinwoon hated that.
"I want to know why you're still angry. I know that Sung Hoon did something stupid but I know that he has tried to make it right." Jinwoon shook his head. "He hasn't done anything right. He knows darn well why I'm angry but he still wants me to do what he wants."
Ki Ha sighed. "You do understand why he did it, right?" Jinwoon's face softened but turned cold after a few seconds. "If you do, why are you still so angry?" Jinwoon let out a deep breath. "He said that he doesn't want the court to look down on me."
"I understand that but me wearing a pantsuit will not make them do that. He is going to be the new King... He could at least try to show the court that he wants to govern differently. I know we hid the truth about me but that doesn't mean that I..."
Jinwoon shook his head. "I know it was my idea to lie about being a female but that doesn't mean that I want it to stay like that. After he becomes a King, it doesn't matter if I'm a male or female. Or am I wrong?"
"I feel like Sung Hoon wanted me to be a female. If I didn't... If... If Elder Young hadn't said that Sung Hoon needed me then I would have left already." Ki Ha crooked his head. He had noticed that Jinwoon wanted something else.
'He likes Sung Hoon!? Sung Hoon words have hurt him more than Sung Hoon knows.' He gave Jinwoon a soft smile. "What do you want Sung Hoon to do? I'll make sure he does it." Jinwoon looked out the window.
"If you tell him then it will be useless. I want him to understand himself what he has done wrong." Ki Ha nodded. "Alright. Thank you for telling me what is going on. I do hope that you two can work it out before the wedding."
Ki Ha stood up to leave. "I do want to tell you that Sung Hoon is really worried that you hate him. I'm sure that you know that he really likes you. I also want you to know that Sung Hoon has been alone for a long time. He's not used to showing his feelings anymore."
Ki Ha gave Jinwoon one more look before leaving the room. Jinwoon scratched his head in frustration. He hated to admit that he felt silly. He knew where Sung Hoon was coming from but for some reason he also hated it. It was his own idea to begin with!
Ki Ha walked down the stairs and found Sung Hoon pacing in the receiving room. "What did he say?" Sung Hoon rushed at Ki Ha when he saw him. Ki Ha held his hands up. "Let's sit down. I want to ask you something."
Sung Hoon frowned. "Can't you tell me what you talked about?" Ki Ha pushed Sung Hoon back into the room. "After you give me an answer." He waited until Sung Hoon sat down. Sung Hoon gave him an impatient glare. "I want to know if you've apologised to Jinwoon?"
Sung Hoon blinked a few times. He hadn't expected Ki Ha to ask him that. "I... I... I'm... " Sung Hoon was thinking about all the things he had done and said. "No..." Ki Ha gave him a triumphant look. He told Sung Hoon everything about what he and Jinwoon had talked about.
"Jinwoon wants you to find out why he's still made but I think you already knew but you still ignored the most important part." Sung Hoon looked at Ki Ha with his mouth slightly open. Ki Ha was right. He knew that he had been a total ass and that Jinwoon was made at his words.
Instead of just saying sorry and letting Jinwoon have his way, he had been explaining himself. "But do you think he'll accept my apology?" Ki Ha shrugged. "Don't mess up." Sung Hoon stood up. "Where are you going?"
Sung Hoon stared at Ki Ha. "To apologise!" Ki Ha shook his head. "Are you crazy? I told him that I won't tell you what to do. Wait until tomorrow or even better the day after tomorrow. Think about what you have to say to make him forgive you. Just saying sorry is not enough!"
Sung Hoon really didn't want to wait but he Ki Ha might be right. He needed to think about his words carefully. He sat down again. "I'll wait." Ki Ha smiled at him. "Maybe you should get him something nice..."
Sung Hoon nodded with a big smile on his face. An idea was slowly forming in his head. He knew exactly what to do. "Don't worry. I have a great idea. I'm sure that Jinwoon will forgive me straight away." Ki Ha brows went up but he didn't say anything.
Two days later, there was a knock on Jinwoon's door. "Jinwoon? Can I come in?" Jinwoon's face turned dark but he went to the door. He opened the door. Sung Hoon was nervously staring back at him. "I was hoping that you would come with me."
Jinwoon blankly stared back at him. "Where to?" Sung Hoon licked his dry lips. "You'll know when we arrive. Please?" Jinwoon wanted to refuse but after Sung Hoon's plea, he decided to go. He indicated for Sung Hoon to lead the way.
They went downstairs and out the door. Sung Hoon wanted to help Jinwoon in the waiting carriage but Jinwoon got in on his own. During the ride they were both looking outside not saying a word. After a few minutes Jinwoon noticed that they were going to the tailor.
'What is he up to?' Jinwoon wasn't really in the mood to go back but he wanted to know what Sung Hoon was planning. The carriage indeed stopped at the tailor and Sung Hoon got out. He tried again to help Jinwoon but he was refused again.
Inside the tailor was also nervously waiting. "Can you show us your finished creation?" The tailor nodded and turned around. Jinwoon's mouth fell open when he saw a blood red pantsuit with flared arms and legs.
The gold and silver embroidery were in the form of maple leaves and animals. Jinwoon stood up and walked over to the dress. It was beautiful. He turned and looked at Sung Hoon with confusion. Sung Hoon gave him a shy smile.
"I've been a total ass. I never meant to hurt you with my words. I just want you to be happy. I don't want you to think that you're just someone I need because of what the Elder has told me. I want you to know that you mean the world to me and I am so sorry for hurting me."
Sung Hoon gave Jinwoon a soft smile. "I like you because you're Jinwoon. I wouldn't want to change you for all the riches in this world. I would give up my crown and life for you. Can you please forgive me?" Sung Hoon towards and held Jinwoon's hands.
This time Jinwoon didn't pull away. Sung Hoon saw tears slowly forming in Jinwoon's eyes. He gently whipped them away. "I'm really sorry for hurting you." He leaned over and gently kissed Jinwoon.
