One week has taken place since the Entry and Cadet Exams, and the first mission for the Entries and Cadets begins in five hourse. After a few hours of training, Navar and Miri wander around the capital world. "Hey Navar, what do you think we should do for the rest of the time?"
"Hmmm, to be honest, I don't know. We spent most of the time training. Now I'm out of ideas."
"That's odd. Normally you're the one full of ideas. Guess all that training has your mind exhausted."
"Yeah, and I'm pretty hungry, too," Navar's stomach gurgles as he feels his hunger gnawing at him.
"Guess we can get some lunch. Let's find a spot to eat," Navar and Miri find a restaurant named Shuki's Dine In. As Navar and Miri walk into the diner, they hear the rattle of dishes and the chatter of people as they get seated in a bright red booth by a middle-aged waitress. "Hello, young ones. Welcome to Shuki's. What would you like to drink?"
Navar and Miri glance at the list of drinks in front of them, the light of the neon sign reflecting off their faces.
"I'll have the Stardust Berry Blast," says Navar
"I'll take the Banana Squeeze."
"Okay, will do. We'll be back with your drinks shortly."
As the minutes tick by, Navar's grip on their seat tightens, and eventually, a frustrated grunt leaves his lips. "Ugh, I'm so bored. Why do we have to wait for everything… Drinks… Missions! I just want the mission to start."
Miri tunes out Navar's constant moaning and surveys the environment vigilantly. Navar releases a frustrated sigh. "Miri, you're doing it again. Why do you have to be this way in public?"
"You never know who or what you're dealing with in public places. It's always smart to keep an eye o-" Miri's sentence trails off mid-word when her gaze locks onto Seiju. "Oh great, that guy…" she thinks to herself.
"Navar, that playboy is here behind us."
"Huh, where?" Navar turns to look for Seiju, but Miri's slap on his arm stops him in mid-motion.
"Don't stare at him, fool. You'll draw attention to our table, you idiot! Here," She sits on Navar's side of the booth, holding a mirror up and pretending to adjust her appearance while discreetly showing Navar Seiju's reflection in the glass.
"Oh, that creep! Don't worry. I got him."
"Relax, you don't need to do anything, especially here. Just ignore. him."
"Fine," Finally, the waitress appears at their table, placing two tall glasses of cold drinks on the table with a clink. "Yes, it's about time!" Navar noisily gulps his cold beverage, the silver straw clinking against the glass.
The server removes a pad and pencil from the side of her black apron. "What can I get the two of you?"
"I'll take a 10-slice pizza with Kleiton Style French fries," says Navar.
"I'll take the Yan Yan Sushi topped with Rangow Planted Herbs," says Miri.
"Ok, we'll get your order to you in 10 minutes," After a 10-minute wait, Navar and Miri's food arrives on a golden platter at their booth.
Navar eagerly rubs his hands together, savoring the smell of freshly cooked food. "It's about time! I'm so hungry!"
Miri watches in revulsion as Navar tears into his pizza, the greasy cheese dripping down his chin. "You know, now that you're a warrior, you should watch what you eat, Navar."
"I don't care! Pizza is my favorite food! I'll eat it when I want to!"
A few pieces of pizza fly from his mouth as he eats, making Miri cringe and turn away from the unsightly scene. "You can at least eat cleaner," Miri lets out an exhale of annoyance as chunks of pizza land on her face. "Why must he be so gross?" she thinks to herself.
"Is this slob bothering you?" Seiju stands beside Navar and Miri's booth, arms crossed, radiating an air of smugness.
"No, Seiju, he's fine. We don't need you at our table."
"Nah, I think I should. I got bored with those girls over there, so I thought I'd hang out with you guys," He forces his way into Miri's booth, encroaching upon her private space.
Seiju pops potato chips into his mouth while sitting beside Miri. "Are you guys ready for our first mission?" Miri's face scrunches up in irritation as she folds her arms, her body recoiling from Seiju's romantic gestures. "Hey, Miri, relax. I don't bite..." Seiju jumps in surprise when a slice of pizza lands on his face. "Ew, dude, that's gross," After cleaning the pizza sauce from his face with a napkin, he turns to Miri with a satisfied smile. "Hey Miri, why don't you and I leave your slob of a brother and go hang out someplace else?" Seiju tries to wrap his arm around Miri, but she punches him in the ribs. "Ow!"
"What the hell do you take me for a groupie?"
"You know what? Now that I think about it, you're annoying."
"Good, because I want you to stay the hell away from me, you ugly playboy."
Seiju jumps from the booth, his mouth agape and his eyes wild as he scowls at Miri in disbelief. "WOAH, babe! You did NOT just call me ugly!? Have you seen me!? I'm sexy as hell!"
"Yeah, I have seen you, and yeah, I said it. I don't think you're attractive. Now get lost."
The raised voices from Miri and Seiju's argument draws Navar's attention toward it. "What's going on?"
Navar's eyes narrow as he sees Seiju standing above Miri, so he steps forward to confront him. "Hey man, get the hell away from her! Who the hell do you think you are?!"
Chunks of cheese and pizza bits fall onto Seiju's face. Seiju scrubs the bits from his face and gives Navar an irritated stare. "Yo, please stop chewing with your mouth open. It's so disgusting."
"You think I care!"
"I think it'd be a good damn idea! Your breath always smells like sea bass shit."
"That's it!" Navar shoves Seiju to the ground, the thud from Seiju hitting the floor drawing the diner's attention toward them. Then, a tall Grizzly Bear Hybrid, wearing a crisp blue and white apron over a bright and vibrant tropical shirt, grips Navar and Seiju by their shirts. This hybrid is Shuki, the owner of the diner. He drags them toward the door. "If you are going to fight in here, take it outside!" Shuki tosses Navar and Seiju outside the diner.
Miri places 75 Royal onto the table. "Sorry for the inconvenience, sir," Miri steps out to find Navar and Seiju in a heated argument, their voices echoing. "Hey, it's because of your shenanigans you got us kicked out of the dinor, you jerk!" says Navar
"Shenanigans. I'm surprised your pea-sized brain knows such an insult! And it's diner, not 'dinor,' dumbass!"
"For a skinny red-headed pervert, you love to talk a lot of shit. Why don't you back that up?!"'
Suddenly, Juyon appears behind Navar and Seiju and smacks them on the head. "You represent an empire, you idiots. Try not to start fights in public."
"Ow," Seiju and Navar run their fingers through their hair, trying to soothe the throbbing in their heads.
"Juyon, why are you here?" asks Miri.
"The captain has summoned us, and since the three of you weren't responding, he sent me to your location to get you guys to come."
"Where does he want us to go?" asks Navar.
"The Ark, we have to be there early for the briefing for our first mission. Follow me to the space transport bus. It'll be a 2-hour ride, giving us an hour to spare if we run into space traffic."
Juyon guides them to a boarding bus with The Ark as its destination. Forty-five minutes of silence pass, and Navar feels agitated from the extended waiting period. "Are we there yet?"
"No," says Juyon.
Naver lets out a disgruntled sigh and drums his fingers on the window. "Are we there yet?"
"No," says Seiju.
After 20 more minutes of stillness, Navar groans again. "Ugh, are we there yet?"
"No, stop asking the same damn question so many times, Navar," says Miri.
"Hm," Navar leans against the window, his eyes tracing the space environment outside. "Are we there yet?"
"NO!" says Seiju, Miri, and Juyon.
"Oh, brother, please let this end. I can't stand this guy asking any more questions!"
After a grueling 55 minutes, they finally see The Ark in the distance. Juyon gently prods everyone, rousing them from their sleep. "Hey guys, we're here."
"Finally!" says Navar.
The ship floats into The Ark's landing bay, its engines humming a low, steady hum. Navar, Miri, Seiju, and Juyon stepped off the bus to see a Hybrid: Dog Archetype male standing 175 centimeters in a tight-fit black t-shirt and black combat pants. "Hey guys, my name is Shinjiro Warrior of The Ozanian Training Division, and I'll be your leader for our mission."
"Ok, so they're kids, and kids like jokes. I got a good joke!" Shiniro thinks to himself. "Ok, yo! Let's go on ahead and chill for a moment while we wait for 499," Shinjiro channels Ice JōKai onto his Claymore while making a stupid pose.
"..."
Shinjiro hangs his head, his shoulders drooping in disappointment as he sighs heavily. "This is going to be harder than I thought."
499 finally arrives after a few moments of waiting. "There you are, Captain! Guys, this is one of the five captains of the Ozanian Army 499!" says Shinjiro.
"I met them during the Entry Exam, Shinjiro. You were there observing the battle. How don't you remember anything?"
Shinjiro releases a strained chuckle. "Oh, um, it was a part of my joke."
"Talk about a bombed first impression," Shinjiro thinks to himself.
"Anyhow, as we head to the docking area, I'll explain today's mission. T-"
"Yes, Sir!" says Navar.
499 stops walking and glares at Navar. "Don't speak unless either Shinjiro or I give you permission to. Is that understood?"
"Yes, sir."
"Ok, our mission is a distress call from the snow labor world of Xorus in the OSS-L3 Star System. Supposedly, a group of bandits raided the labor camp. Your job is simple: incapacitate the bandits and save as many lives as possible."
They enter the docking area, and the spaceship engines echo around them. "Ship A will be the transport you all will be taking. Also, you will have a Cadet and an Academy Officer to accompany you on your mission."
Once they enter, they see Denkei, Nozomi, a Middle-Aged Regular Human Man with slicked-back brown hair, blue eyes, and tan skin, and Jax sitting in the pilot seat.
Jax's lips curl upward, forming a welcoming smile at Navar and Miri. "Long time no see."
"Jax!" Navar runs up to him and warmly wraps his arms around him. Jax squirms in his grip, trying to break free of his iron-like strength. "You're crushing my ribs, Navar."
"Sorry, Jax," says Navar
"It's alright; just watch your strength," Jax lets out a soft chuckle and shifts his gaze to the rest of the entries. "Ok, we will prepare for liftoff once everyone is seated!"
"That's right, Jax, now then, all of you get seated and buckled in so we can start our mission,"
"Is everyone buckled in?"
"Yes, sir!" says everyone.
The ship departs, its engines roaring as it sets course toward Xorus. The Middle-Aged Pilot flicks the switch to turn on the P. A system. "Listen up, everyone, in case you don't know who I am, I'm Haru, Rank Officer of The Academy. Be careful about approaching some of these laborers. Because of our history of taxation on them, they aren't kind to Warriors and Mages. So whatever you do, don't start a conflict or say something stupid."
Miri and Jax glance at Navar, causing Navar to crease his brow in bewilderment. "What are you looking at me for?"
After a one-hour flight, they enter the atmosphere of Xorus. "We're near the planet's landing system, everyone. Get ready for a landing," says Jax.
As they touch down on Planet Xorus, they hear a powerful wind whooshing resoundingly. Planet Xorus is an arctic planet with snow-covered terrain. icy winds, and a moderate gravitational force, accompanied by an intense chill. Seiju's teeth chatter as a chill seeps through his body. "It's cold here."
Shinjiro hands Jax and Haru two walkie-talkies, the antennas jutting out of the top like two antennae. "In case things go rampant, we can't have people who aren't Supernaturals go any further. So you guys stay back."
"Understood, be safe," says Haru.
The warriors continue their excursion, and up ahead, they see a work area where they hear the hum of machines and the chatter of workers. A short older woman with short gray hair and gray eyes greets them. "Are you guys the Ozanian army?"
"Yes, we are," says Shinjiro.
"Ok then, follow me," They follow the older woman, hearing the crunch of snow underfoot until they arrive at a point in the Village with a large red x painted in the snow. "This is where they marked their territory. They told us if any of the villagers cross this point, they'll be killed instantly."
"Understood, mam, we'll take care of it," Shinjiro's gaze turns to the other rookies. "Ok, guys, let's go," They step over the red X, which glows in the snow and venture into the bandits' territory.
