"Overlord… I've heard about that guy. He's bad news," says Haru.
"He's been getting ready to retaliate against you for years for the wrongs done to our kind, but I didn't think the scumbag would do it this early. Ah, what the hell, it's not my problem anyway."
"What in the hell are you talking about?!" asks Shinjiro.
Xolly raises his cuffs, the metallic clasps catching the light. "If you let me free from these cuffs, I'll tell you what he's planning."
"As if we would let you free, you bastard!" says Navar.
Shinjiro rests his hand on Navar's shoulder, trying to calm him with a gentle touch. "Calm down, Navar."
Shinjiro slowly approaches Xolly, the tension between them palpable. "How do I know I can trust you?"
"There's 10 of you and one of me. I have no intention of fighting anymore. Besides, Overlord and I had a falling out, so I no longer do things on his behalf."
Shinjiro considers Xolly's proposal before slipping a golden key out of his pocket. "Fine."
As Shinjiro moves closer to Xolly, Haru grabs his arm, preventing him from continuing. "Shinjiro, are you sure about this?"
"Yes, I am," Shinjiro unlocks the handcuffs from Xolly's wrists.
Xolly throws the cuffs away and gives Shinjiro a sardonic smile. "Thank you,"
Xolly swivels around to face the crowd. "Overlord's plan is…."
"…"
"Hah, as if I'll tell you, guys!" The air around Xolly crackles with heat as he summons Lava JōKai in the palm of his hand.
"Guys, lo-"
Xolly releases a powerful Lava blast that sizzles as it flies toward Shinjiro. "Lava Summoning: Scorch Stream!" Shinjiro feels the scorching heat of the Lava blast reverberate through his body as it critically strikes his waist, rendering him unconscious.
"Shinjiro!" says Haru.
Haru unsheathes his Ion blaster from his holster and aims it at Xolly. "You'll pay for that, you bastard!"
Xolly raises his hand and feels the crackle of energy as Lava JōKai appears. "You're in the way of the actual threats!" Xolly hurls the Lava JōKai ball in Haru's direction, the bright red and orange colors blurring in the air.
Juyon jumps in, a feeling of energy emanating from his fists as Hard Terrain JōKai takes form. He raises his palms to his face and squeezes his fists together, attempting to repel the attack. "Horns of Taurus!" Juyon feels the sheer force of the Lava blast when it collides with his fists, sending him flying into a nearby building.
Jax's hand hovers over his Ion blaster, his fingers touching the leather of the holster, until Miri places her hand on his shoulder, causing him to pause. "You and Haru go find some help. Leave it to the Warriors to take care of him."
"Ok," Jax and Haru hurry away from the quarrel and glance around for any sign of help in the vicinity.
Navar unsheathes his blade, his eyes flashing with anger. "Miri, let's kick this guy's ass!"
Miri readies her attack stance, her Two Daggers gleaming in her wrist slots. "You read my mind."
Navar and Miri engage Xolly, feeling the JōKai Amplification surging around their body, pushing them to move faster. Xolly stretches out both hands and conjures Lava JōKai into them, releasing a wave of scorching heat at Navar and Miri. Miri dodges the lava, then lunges forward, brandishing her daggers with a stabbing motion. "Two Daggers: Pouncing Strike!"
Navar's hand trembles as he grips the hilt of his sword, preparing for the impending attack. "Okayasu Blade: Okayasu Parry!" Navar swings his blade and the metal clangs against the lava beam. The impact of the Lava beam sends him flying backward, the window panes exploding around him as he crashes through it.
The force of the blast also throws Miri to the ground. Xolly towers over Miri, his Lava Blast crackling as he points it at Miri's face. "This is your end, brat!"
Seiju shoots a flaming arrow toward Xolly, which he dodges by jerking his head to the left. He turns his head, emitting a low grunt as he catches sight of Seiju. "Annoying little brat!"
Xolly sprints toward Seiju, and a bright red-orange light glows in his hands as he summons a massive amount of Lava JōKai. Seiju pivots on his heel to meet Denkei's gaze. "Denkei now!"
"I call upon the forces of the supernatural to trap my enemy. Magic Spell Binding: Five-Handed Bind!" Five black hands grab Xolly and immobilize him. Xolly thrashes in the grasp of the hands, feeling their crushing grip.
"Seiju, can you hit him?" asks Denkei.
Seiju invokes Flame JōKai onto his bow with a dazzling grin. "Who're you asking?"
Xolly releases a powerful scream as his strength overwhelms Denkei's spell. "Oh, man, you've gotta be kidding me!" says Seiju.
Xolly sends a powerful Lava shockwave that sends Seiju and Denkei flying into boulders. "That was too easy. Now I can end you all for destroying my base!" Xolly summons a large amount of Lava JōKai that bubbles up in his hand. He then unleashes a colossal Lava bird construct that dwarfs the surrounding buildings in size. "Special Lava Summoning: Lava Bird Descent!"
"Dammit, that attack will kill us!" says Denkei.
Then, a hooded man jumps from the ground and slices the attack apart, causing bits of Lava to disperse everywhere. Xolly's eyes widen in confusion as he peers at the hooded figure. "He stopped my strongest attack that easily?" Xolly thinks to himself. "Just who are you?"
The hooded man takes off his cloak, revealing himself as Captain 499. Xolly's pupils grow large with thrill. "Captain 499, I've heard many things about you! It'll be an honor to take you down!" Xolly summons a blazing inferno of Lava JōKai onto his hands and launches a fierce barrage of blasts at 499.
As 499 pulls his Black Hilt Katana from his waist, a gust of wind blowing around him, signaling the activation of the Wind JōKai. 499's sword glints in the light as he blitzes Xolly's defenses and delivers a forceful slash that knocks Xolly unconscious.
Miri becomes awestruck by 499's impressive swordsmanship, her mouth agape. "I didn't even see him draw the blade, unbelievable," Miri thinks to himself.
Haru stumbles back toward everyone, his body trembling from exhaustion as he pants. "Hey, guys, can you believe it? We found 499 roaming the planet looking for us!"
Juyon walks toward everyone, and a small cloud of white dust puffs into the air as he brushes it off his shoulder. "What are you doing here, Captain?"
499 sheathes his Katana. "I am here to take you guys to an evacuation planet Evac-12."
"Ok, 499, before we can do that, we have to repair the ship from the damage it took during the battle," says Haru.
"That's fine," 499 rummages through his cloak, and the sound of fabric rustling fills the air as he pulls out a brown bag. "Here," 499 tosses Denkei the bag.
Denkei opens the bag and is met with a robust herb-scented aroma from the tubes full of green liquid known as healing potions. "Thanks," Denkei hands the potions to everyone.
499 presses his pager. "Bartholomew, I have the entries and cadets. We'll be on our way soon."
Once the ship is restored, the engines roar as they take off for Evac-12. When they land in the ship bay, many people bustle in full view. "This is a bunch of people for an evacuation planet," says Navar.
"This is one of the active evacuation planets for the Ozanian Empire. Since we were invaded by surprise, we ensured everyone was safe instead of engaging with the enemy."
As they descend the ship's ramp, Bushiyon greets them with a friendly smile. "Greetings. For those who don't know me, I am Bushiyon, Commander of all Five divisions of the Ozanian Army."
"What in the world happened?" asks Juyon.
"A couple of hours ago, a criminal under the alias of "Overlord" invaded our Capital City."
"Who is Overlord?" asks Navar.
"That is classified information for now."
"Ok, are we going to get deployed in battle?" asks Juyon
"We'll have the training division and their elites take care of this threat. Since you all are young Supernaturals, I suggest you take this time to train yourselves to be ready for future wars when you're called upon," says Bartholomew.
"But I want to fight too!" says Navar.
"Well, take that up with your superiors," Bartholomew, Bushiyon, and 499 depart from the bay.
Navar's fists tighten as he clinches them together in anger. "What a damn jerk," Thought Navar. Navar spots a piece of something tumble from Bartholomew's pocket, and he walks to retrieve it. "What is this?" Navar thinks to himself.
Four hours pass by with Navar, Miri, and Jax lying bored in a hotel room. "I thought Ozania was much more powerful than this!? Why is one criminal causing the entire capital world to evacuate?" asks Jax.
"Who knows, maybe they're taking their time, and they're just trying to limit casualties," says Miri
Jax releases a heavy sigh, unimpressed by the situation. "Yeah, I guess so."
"Navar, why are you so quiet? That's not like you," asks Miri
Navar cocks his head to the side, squinting at the paper and trying to make sense of it. "Sorry, I just can't read this note."
Miri approaches Navar and removes the paper from his fingers. "Where did you even get this from?"
"Bartholomew dropped out of his pocket."
"Let me see that," Jax takes the paper from Miri.
Jax scans the paper, and his eyes settle on the strange word "Molorx," along with a set of coordinates at the bottom. "Wait a minute. These are coordinates for a planet called Molorx. There's also the color Green, an ox, a Bee, a drawing of a jewel known as an Ivex Link, the word no, and a home symbol."
Miri's eyes narrow, her brow creasing as she tilts her head. "What does that even mean?"
Jax ponders the implications of what it means for a moment. "Wait a minute; this is a secret code. Each of the first letters spells out Goblin, and the last part is home, so it's the Goblin Hideout! And these numbers on there are the coordinates!"
Navar's lips curve into a mischievous smile. "Goblin Hideout, eh."
Jax and Miri observe Navar's face transform into a smirk and let out a deep, resigned sigh. "Oh no, not again."
