Chapter 17 - News of the 'Clues' came to the Light

Sora returned quickly to his room and soon he received a message telling him that Arkon and Julieth had entered the portal.

After closing the door, Sylgard left his body and stood in front of him, waiting for his orders.

Sora looked at her.

He got to know that she was a female monster after looking at her in the library. She had the curves of women, but they weren't easily notorious. If you compare her with Julieth, Sylgard stays behind by far.

"Don't go right, I have some things to do and also I have some orders for you and Arkon regarding some hunters," Sora told her.

Sylgard nodded her head and waited in silence. Sora hoped that, one day, he would be able to hear her voice as he did with Arkon's. However, it seemed that it took a lot of their mana to be able to pronounce some words. Sora knew, or more correctly, presumed that once they got a higher level, that was not going to be any more of a problem.

He quickly began to check their levels and they left him agape.

After reading he felt something wasn't right. The levels of the two shadows were higher by ten levels at least. He remembered clearly that his "servants" could betray him if they were of a higher level.

Sylgard seemed to notice his change in attitude and sent him a message through their new communication device.

######

Sylgard: Master, Arkon and I have higher levels than you, but we'll never betray you, also, you have not had the chance to increase your level because it is dangerous for you. Furthermore, you're our hope for the sake of the survival of our race. Before you arrived at our underground base, we began to fall because of the strange energy that made our friends and family get corrupted. We wanted to save them but we weren't capable of such a deed.

######

Sora read the message and got amused with the new information he got about the current situation inside the dungeon. Also, he was happy for the next message the System sent him almost at the same time he finished reading Sylgard's message.

🐾🐾🐾

You've got information behind the corruption of the night creatures!

🐾🐾🐾

Perfect! Sora was worried about how he could get that part of the mission he had for the event. He even began to forget about it.

######

Sora: I'm happy to know it. Don't worry I'll try everything to help you and your kind to survive.

Sylgard: Thank you, My Master.

######

Sora knew he had two years more to become strong, also to reach level 20 so he can buy the ~Hidden Status~ Skill. He needs it if he wanted to enter the correct way to the dungeon without raising any suspicions.

After checking some more things with Sylgard, Sora told her to go to the dungeon and try to find any night creature and shadow who wasn't corrupted and protect them, especially if they were really young ones, like kids.

Also, after Sylgard left with a slight nod, Sora thought that not only the Night Creatures were been corrupted, but also the shadows were victims of the same situation.

He felt that the idea of invading was not only because of trying to find their leaders (actually, they already returned to the dungeon a year ago) but because of the corruption they were facing and was pushing them to extinction. Sora needed to rush!

"System! Is there another way I can get EXP points?" Sora tried asking the System. It was his first time acknowledging that the System actually has a personality, (we could say it was like an AI) since it recommended a skill it was useful for him.

🐾🐾🐾

You can kill hunters and adventurers! Depending on their levels and strength you'll get satisfying EXP points. (Highly recommended by the System.)

Other Recommendations:

- Build some small temporal dungeons. (Unable because of the Event)

- Complete Daily Quests.

- Kill corrupted beings.

-*More options coming with the growth of The Master.

🐾🐾🐾

Sora was speechless with the "Highly recommended" option the System gave him.

He read all the options and concluded that the only thing he could do at the moment was complete his Daily Quests. He sighed and just went to his bed and slept.

*********

Meanwhile, Sora didn't suspect that something that his older siblings tried to hide was now a hot topic.

During the second year of the event, everyone got to knew the "Clues" that help hunters (and some adventurers who began to hear of the news inside the dungeon) rise ranks quickly.

The man that was eavesdropping on Sora's and Julieth's conversation was in the top 1000, but he suddenly jumped to the top 5 with the fifty easy/hard earning points from the "Clues". He was too excited that he went and told the news to his guild master.

Also, the one that was in the fifth-place got confused with his sudden rank changing from 5 to 6.

He looked for an answer and saw the news that was leaked out by someone from the guild who got the news.

Like that, everyone on Earth got to know of this "secret way of earning points".

Jin, Rose, Heller, and Finn were frightened of that thing.

It may be a coincidence, but the man who 'found' about the "Clues" was in the same guild as them. Jin was one of the three leaders just down the guild master, and also got to know the information. They were now sure that Robert (that's the name of the man) saw Sora talking with a VAMPIRE!

You might want to know how they knew it was Sora the kid Robert talked about, well, it was quite easy of knowing.

After Jin got the information, he quickly asked the other three people to join him. He related what Robert told them: a ten-year-like boy with black hair was talking with an extremely beautiful woman with fiery dark-red hair (the vampire), and then suddenly he got the message of getting a "Clue".

Of course, after sharing the information with his superiors, the four people got the same message and they quickly got their ranks up. The reason was that they already had some intelligence about the situation inside the dungeon that Robert didn't. However, no one got into the top 3.

Those three people's points were insane. The guild master of Jin's guild who ranked four was like 1000 points behind the third ranker, not to mention that he was like 4000 points behind from the first place.

Returning to the topic at hand, the four people began to analyze the information they just got. It was just a short moment, but Heller and Finn remembered the woman they saw at the library when they were following Sora. After they told that to the other ones, they became more aware that something happened to Sora during his time in the dungeon.

The most they were afraid of was of Sora being dead and that a monster took his shape to no one knows. They preferred that he was possessed, that way, they could be certain that he was alive and they have the chance of saving him.

Sadly for them, 'something' indeed happened to Sora, but it was before the incident with the portal and they would have never imagined what it was.

"I think it's time for us to confront him," Heller said with an angry expression. Everyone was worried but could not do anything without knowing what was going with Sora.

"Yes, we need. But if we do that now, our guild master and the other two leaders might get suspicious. Once is leaked that that boy was Sora, he will be in great danger," Rose began to think about their options.

"You're right, Rose, but this can't take longer. Maybe if we talk with him inside the orphanage..." Heller wasn't thinking straight, so Jin cut him.

"Heller, this is something we need to be careful. Also, maybe we can't do it alone. Rose it's right, the Hunter's Organization might kill him the moment they got news about him. I understand the reason behind," Jin began to explain.

"What do you mean you understand? Is it OK for you to KILL Sora just like that?" Finn said angrily and Rose also looked at Jin telling him she was of the same think as Finn.

"NO! I don't want him being killed, but if he really died in the dungeon and its a monster in disguise, it would be a big problem. Mainly, because he was able to pass the scrutinity of many hunters without making an alert alarm to happen. I was explaining, ar least trying to explain, to Heller if we do confront him in the orphanage, and he is possessed or it's a monster in disguise, all the children will be in danger," Jin finally was able to finish his sentence.

After saying those words, the faces of Rose, Heller, and Finn became red of embarrassment and realization.

"Indeed, Jin is right. SO... what should we do?" Heller was calm after hearing Jin's explanation.

"I don't know, we can wait and see what does he do. Next year he is going to be twelve, if we saw that something is amiss with him, I'll inform Viktor's brother. HE is a D-tier-beginner hunter. He is the strongest one we know and we trust," Jin said his idea.

Heller agreed.

Finn and Rose were not to convince because the matter was something urgent. But they agreed at the end.

Rose hoped that by a year she would have level up and also learn some Purification Skills.

"Good, so be careful of saying a world and keep an eye in Sora's movements," Jin ended the conversation and the reunion with those words.

Little they knew that Sora was just going to lay down and complete his Daily Quests in a discret way for the next two years.

Sora knew that with the hunter having seen him with Julieth, he might be a suspect. So he needed to be extracareful during the time until he could enter the dungeon.
