"Let's go. Hmm?" Adrian asked Jennifer as he noticed her calming down. Jennifer merely nodded. They both got inside the school and sat in their seats. Adrian knew he attracted a lot of attention, so he went first. When the entire crowd was looking at him, Jennifer slipped into her class silently. She sat at the last bench, something she didn't do at all. Guess, life's up for a big change! When Adrian came inside the room the teacher was already there.
She came inside, stood there for a second and then went outside again. When she returned the class was already settled. Only one seat was left, next to Jennifer. Adrian came and sat beside her. He noticed Jennifer had hidden her face. Nobody could recognize her. When Adrian sat, his heart was happy but his mind told him how dangerous it was.
After the lecture ended, there was an announcement from the principal's office asking Jennifer Williams to report immediately. All students turned around in horror, looking here and there, searching for Jennifer. Jennifer was so scared that she clutched Adrian's arm tightly and started crying silently. "Adrian, someone recognized me. I'm done. My dad will not forgive me for this. If I don't return to the den by midnight, please…." Jennifer mumbled something that was not understandable and then rose from her seat earning gasps from nearby students.
Adrian's blood was boiling. He wanted to protect her. He wanted to go there with her. He wanted to so everything he could but the only thing he could do was to stay aloof. Staying with her increased the trouble. Adrian's heart was bleeding when Jennifer got up and headed out of class. She was visibly shaking. "I should have listened to James." He thought to himself but the very next moment he thought of something else. He took out his phone and called someone. When Adrian disconnected the call, he was smirking.
Jennifer went into the principal's office and stood there, waiting for her death sentence to be served. It felt like a literal execution. The execution of her heart and humanity. "Ms. Williams, please have a seat." Jennifer did as instructed. "Ms. Williams, your parents wished to talk to you." The principal has just finished this sentence when Jennifer began crying. "I don't want to meet them. Please principal. I beg you." Jennifer's uncontrollable crying convinced the principal that something was seriously wrong.
"You can communicate with them in my presence. Please. These are the legal orders but because I know you personally, I will help you. Please talk to them." He tried convincing Jennifer that maybe they just wanted to talk. When after a lot of convincing, Jennifer didn't agree, the principal was left with no option but to follow the legal orders. He called the police and told them about Jennifer's location.
Before that he told Jennifer to return to class. Jennifer came back to see Adrian in the middle of a fight. "What the hell! Do you really want some treatment today?" he shouted and banged his hand on the table. His other hand was holding the person's collar. Jennifer saw how his veins in his neck popped up with anger.
Jennifer ran inside the class and tried stopping him but Adrian yanked her hand away. Adrian went towards the guy and punched him hard. Then he pushes him against the wall and started choking him. The guy's face turned red and he was having trouble breathing. Jennifer ran to separate them. That's when Adrian pushed her away and he pushed her so hard that she fell on the ground. Jennifer was sure she had injured herself.
It was getting really painful. She couldn't help but release tiny whimpers as she tried standing again. Her waist was hurting really bad. It was difficult to move. Adrian stopped choking the guy when he heard Jennifer's whimpers from behind. He immediately left the guy and came towards her. "Yah! I told you to stay away. That is what you get for poking your nose in my business." He shouted at Jennifer. Jennifer just looked at him with teary eyes. Why was he behaving like this?
She extended her hand towards him, signaling him to pick her up. Instead of picking her up, Adrian too extended his arms and started mimicking her, "What? Is this some new workout?" he said making some boys in the class snicker. Jennifer couldn't even move due to the pain. She saw Adrian take a few steps away from her. Thinking that he was going to leave her here like this, Jennifer tried standing up again but failed.
Suddenly, Adrian turned around, picked her up in bridal style and walked out of the classroom. He kept looking at Jennifer and she kept starting at him. Everyone looked at them with wide eyes as if they had seen a ghost. Many talks ignited as they passed through the corridor.
"OMG! What happened to him?"
"Is she her girlfriend?"
"Pfft… not possible. He has a heart of stone."
Jennifer noticed Adrian's jaw clench in anger. Adrian noticed Jennifer's body tense up. His grip around her body strengthened. Jennifer laid her palm on the back of his left palm and drew circles still looking into his eyes. Adrian's angry frustrated eyes softened a bit making her smile but he kept a straight face and walked towards the school infirmary. He made her sit on the seat and went to find the nurse. He discovered that the nurse was on a half day which meant she wasn't coming anytime soon.
"Umm, if you are comfortable, lift your shirt a bit. I'll spray it for you." Adrian said. Jennifer was about to lift her shirt when her eyes went towards his hands. They were injured. After struggling a bit, Jennifer stood up and dragged herself to Adrian and made him sit on the seat she was sitting on. "Babe, what are you doing?" Adrian asked in a low voice. Jennifer said nothing and started treating his wounds.
"Please don't fight like this. I don't like seeing you in pain." She said while tying the gauze bandage. "He was the one that reported you. How do you expect me to stay silent?" Adrian told Jennifer. Jennifer didn't reply. "Also, I told you that we are secretly dating. That means that you have to stay away from me. Why did you stop me?" Adrian asked Jennifer. Hurting Jennifer was killing him inside.
