Even just a few seconds ago, Jennifer was in a total chaos. What to do? How to do? When to do? But with Adrian standing in front of her, the solution to every problem became clear, all at once. Her mind was ears of all the confusion. She knew what to do. She would act like nothing happened. Like she didn't see anything. She would analyze her worth in his eyes and then hurt him at the right moment. After all, this was revenge. Hurting him where he had hurt her.
Jennifer wouldn't exploit his weakness. She wasn't as low as Kurt or him. She would hurt him in his own method. Act like a friend and then lie to his face. Just like he did. She would get him to trust her, to care for her and then break him. Just like he did. The taste of one's own medicine is the bitterest of all. All Jennifer had to do was to follow her plan impeccably perfect. No mistakes. No second chances. One shot and Adrian is down.
"Adrian, why did you come here?" Jennifer asked in her ever appealing smile. "Me? Oh, your parents gave me this. They told me that when you read this you would understand everything." Adrian handed Jennifer a note. It was in the handwriting of Jennifer's mother. It said-
Jennifer,
When I and your dad are out on business trips, we are always worried about you. If you have eaten properly? Are you taking care of your health? So, this time we decided that we will let you live with a friend. You both shall stay together till the time we come back. He has already been given all the instructions. He'll sleep in the guest house. Please be friendly to him. I knew, you both go to the same school. So try and make friends with him, converse with him.
Ps: Your dad clearly instructed him that you were off limits for him. That you both shall not have any romantic encounters. That even if he stays with you, he will not develop feelings for you, but according to me, he's a nice guy. You have my permission. You need a change after Winston after all.
Bye. Mom and dad loves you. ❤️❤️
Wow! This was epic. Adrian was going to live with her, for fifteen days. In her house. With her 24/7. What could be better than this.
"Oh, so this was my parents idea of a gift." Jennifer sighed. "So, where do I live. This suitcase is heavy." Adrian said, lifting the suitcase in his hands to show that his arms were tired. What a liar! His arms weren't tired when he beat the shit out of Kurt. Nevertheless, Jennifer continued her sweet and affectionate charade.
"Here. Follow me." Jennifer said as she led Adrian to the guest house. It was pretty spacious and fully furnished. Her parents usually hosted some of their guests in this place, but it had remained empty for a quite some time now. No wonder, he mother specially ordered the entire house to be deep cleaned before they left. They put so much stress on the appearance on the guest house. She should have understood. First time impression and all..
Jennifer showed him his room and then told him, "If you ever need me, I'll be in my room. Find me there." Jennifer was also shocked at her perfect acting. The perfect amount of sweetness in her voice. The perfect smile adorning her face. Everything according to her plan. No mistakes.
Jennifer turned around and left the room. Just as Jennifer's back disappeared from Adrian's eyesight., Adrian took our his phone and called James. "James, I am at Jennifer's house as you know. Jennifer is not natural around me, she's acting like she is hiding a secret. What should I do?" From the other side, James said, "Adrian. You know, you tend to overthink when you are around her. Because of your fantasy to be perfect for her. Take it easy."
Adrian was still unsure of what to do. He had this strange feeling in him again. The one that he got on the day Jennifer fainted. The feeling in his gut which told him something was wrong. Since, James told him to stop overthinking about this, Adrian thought it would be better if he listened to him. A few days passed, Adrian still couldn't stop thinking why Jennifer was acting around him? What did Jennifer know? Why was she so desperate to hide it? These questions were spinning in his head. Jennifer often asked him double meaning questions. Once, Adrian considered the fact that she might know about him being a mafia leader bit then shut out the option because even the imagination of the consequences of this coming true were horrible to him.
Adrian wanted to tell Jennifer all about who he really was but he was scared that this would create distances between them. To him, Jennifer was too precious to loose just because of his mistakes and his past. He even reasoned with himself that that day he had taken her to the same café because a part of him really wanted her to know what he was. He wasn't monster as many would have presumed at first sight. He did not harm good people. He made the wrong people learn their lesson. Granted, that his method of teaching was a bit harsh. A lot harsh, in fact. All these days, he had helped a lot of children and women, poor people who were not able to feed their families because of the atrocities done on them because of rich people like him. He felt like he should atone for all those sins his father committed.
Tearing apart families for business, torturing people till the time they accept his terms and conditions of work, which were generally beyond humanitarian standards. Stealing and regarding others hard work as his own. Adrian helped a lot of people who were troubled by his father. He did the same for all other rich CEO's in America. His network was really expanded. Many corrupt and vile people had been ruined by him.
