We were surrounded.
Monsters came from all sides land sky and sea surrounding us, attacking in large numbers.
Wolves twice the normal size with visible rib cages, bones coated in a layer of crimson crystals growling bearing their fangs at us.
Vultures looming on us from up above in the sky shooting blade like feathers as they circled around screeching almost like a viscous sadistic laugh.
And from the sea, mutant fish with legs and tentacles in humanoid form finished eating the giant squid Bartfort had just hunted and now are planing on eating us next!
The situation was ridiculous but we had to deal with it if we wanted to survive.
Those with flying mounts attacked the vultures first whilst those who didn't including the ship crew members and infantry soldiers along with templar knights stayed within a translucent barrier I had just raised.
Vincent took charge of the walking fish monsters whilst Bartfort started cutting down wolves with Lukretus and the infantry.
Canditia and the priests teamed up to create what they called a sanctuary, an array of blessing where the priests and saint couldn't move in exchange for buffing and healing allies within their circle.
The fight was dragging on longer than expected and we all had to do something about it before we exhausted our powers and so I decided to show them what a sorceress can.
In the span of moments, a stream of enchantment runes combined with one another in a chain forming a multitude of glyphs combining into one large array.
The sorcery array channeled the death of monsters slain by us converting it into energy used to conjure a swarm of familiars in the shape of translucent butterflies that latched onto the the enemies and exploded upon contact killing them.
The dead monsters were then absorbed again into the array, conjuring more familiars and the cycle continued until their numbers dwindled and the remaining scattered away leaving us in peace.
Lukretus ordered the earth mages to team up and make a shelter for us while the water mages dragged the ship to shore where the crew members could fix it in case we needed it to escape.
The shelter was built almost instantly and it looked like a fortress! Like wow, I know magic is amazing but damn it's so convenient! These people are basically living giant 3d printing machines that makes houses instead of figurines!
I obviously took a room all to myself and decided to enchant the fortress with a barrier spell powered by the remaining familiars I had.
Vincent scoffed
The last comment ticked a few people off but they obediently agreed since it showed on their faces that everyone here was suffering from the energy that came from somewhere in this land.
I took his gear and we called it a day each retiring to their rooms for the night.
