As the rain fell, the dark, purple clouds let out streaks of orange lighting and thunder. It was as if the skies were both saddened and frighteningly angry on this day.
Under the black soil laid the body of a fair-faced boy. His jawline is sharp as a knife and his skin is as smooth as milk. He looked to be only 17 years old. He was clothed in black pants, a black shirt, black boots, and a black cloak.
This was the freshly dug grave of Alex Van Vorte. Above his grave was floating his blue-colored, glowing soul. It was slowly fading away into the abyss as it had been 5 hours since his death.
A dark crack in inter-dimensional space showed up and spit out a crimson soul that glowed brightly with a vibrant and lively feel coming from it.
The crimson soul opens up to form a mouth and swallowed Alex's soul like it was a snack.
The soul then flew straight through the ground and into the dead body. As if blessed by some mysterious power, Alex's body was fully healed and the dirt covering him flew off.
Daren took his first breath in a new world.
"Haaaaaa!" I woke up with a jolt. My head was splitting with pain as strange information and memories began to flood my mind.
"Damn. These are the memories of another transmigration, aren't they? Ah, whatever. This makes the 69th life. Hopefully, this is the end. Now, what should I do to not be bored in this sh**ty world without any technology and VR games? I was never into the fantasy genre and only tried once in my seven thousand years."
Due to absorbing the memories and knowledge of Alex's life, Daren was unfazed by this situation in the new world. He had absorbed the memories of 69 souls now so he was quite used to being in awkward situations.
Transmigrating 69 times messed up Daren's sense of fear and hesitation which made the process easier every time.
"Man. I thought after transmigrating so many times, I would get a system like those stupidly OP MCs in web novels I read when I wasn't planning oblivion. Hehehehe. Who needs a system when you got a brain like mine. I got all that knowledge, wisdom, and skills from my previous lives. I will be fine."
As you can clearly see, our MC has developed a huge ego over the years. He's justified with his ego since he caused the death of countless people without ever anyone suspecting a thing.
He considers himself unbeatable in mind games, strategies, and anything related to politics. A true "Lord of the Shadows" as he calls himself. Daren knows that he is egoistic and his title is quite childish but he doesn't give a cr*p.
As if on queue, a blue screen appears in front of Daren and a sweet voice says the following into his head.
--------------

Daren's brain froze for a solid 30 seconds until he got a hang of himself.
The world really does hate. He never said he wanted a system. He was more than confident with his own skills but now, it seemed as if he could truly do anything he wanted.
"Muahahahaha!!!!" Daren started laughing like an evil villain.
Not only did I get one system but two! That's way better than those OP novel MC's. As they say, two is always better than one.
Well, the MC's of those novels only had to die once to get their one system but I had to die 69 times so of course, I deserve more than those brain-dead characters.
The only sad part is that I didn't get 69 systems. My systems better be worth it.
Daren pressed the golden button that read "Press To Activate Systems" which had appeared in front of him. It was displayed on s bright blue screen
He once again heard the soothing voice speak. "Systems Activation Finalized. You can now utilize all functions that are currently unlocked." Daren started getting really excited until he heard the next part. "Please explore the system's functions by yourself as there is no tutorial available at this time."
Daren's happy expression soon changed into a grim one.
What the heck dude! Can't you just spoon-feed my info? I don't have time for this.
I'm in a dangerous forest without any food or weapons. Plus, countless ferocious beasts are waiting to swallow me whole.
According to Alex's memories, this place is supposed to be the Googoon Lagoon Forest on the Northern border of the Zolaris Empire. A wild, neutral land that goes on for hundreds of miles and contains some ferocious monsters.
The beasts were not dangerous to average warriors and magicians on this continent but Alex's had never practiced using what was known as "The Forces ".
This power is everywhere on the continent. Absorbing the force into one's body would make it many times stronger. Absorbing the force into someone's soul lets them use magic spells of unlimited kinds. One could also partake in both forms of strength.
Daren was in quite the puzzle. Alex's mother's unwillingness to let her son fight now put Daren in danger. He decided to calm down and started to observe his surroundings.
In front of Daren is a blue and purple striped tiger. It was twice as big as normal adult tigers from a planet called Earth.
The tiger was drooling and growling while looking at Daren as if it was a scrumptious meal. Most people would be scared out of their wits at this point but this tiger was too unlucky as Daren had different thoughts.
"Looks like a meal has presented itself to me as soon as started to feel hungry. Come here, little tiger. Your sacrifice will be accepted to further my personal ambitions."
