I stayed up in the deemed lighted room and read a book while Lin softly combed my hair.
The sun has successfully rose, signifying a brand new day that had been shown all over the earth.
Or probably just Barenui for now.
"You are lost, my lady" Lin said softly.
Lea snapped back to her senses and stared at Lin through the reflection of the mirror.
"No, I'm not" Lea said nervously.
"Yes you are. You haven't flipped through another page for the past two hours" Lin said.
What?!
Lea didn't even know that she was stuck on one page for two hours. Wait... Two hours? So Lin even kept track of time?
"I just finished this page" Lea lied. Oh c'mon, lying once in a while isn't that bad...
Right? she asked herself.
Lin smiled and stood up from the stool she sat on while combing her hair. She lightly took the book away from Lea and stared into her eyes.
"Spill it" Lin said and Lea's face turned bright red with nervousness.
"What?" Lea asked and Lin glared at her.
"What did he tell you?" she asked and Lea kept her face neutral. She didn't want that blushing sickness to come up again. It usually gave her a headache.
Lin is nice but I still need to be careful. I can't risk telling her anything his highness told me, Lea reasoned.
"Nothing much. He just wanted to ask if I was alright" Lea lied. Again.
Lin squinted her eyes and felt the urge to yell at Lea for lying at her.
"I am a mother, dear Lea. I have been through all these" Lin said and Lea still had the feeling to not tell her anything.
"It's the summary. He said it in longer words. Other than that, he said nothing else" Lea said and Lin nodded.
Even if she knew Lea told the truth, it wasn't the full one but she was satisfied with the fact that Valdemar gained some interest in the lady she is managing. That's all she wanted now that becoming the Prince's bride had become a fight between some maids.
Maids that managed the ladies that were captured took it as a challenge. Because the lady that will be chosen by the Prince will have to give some credit to the maids that managed them and so, most maids wanted them to take more credit.
But she... She didn't want that. She just wanted to have a great impact on Lea's life, probably they won't be able to see each other after the encounter that has started between them, so she wanted to seize the opportunity.
Lin smiled warmly and made her way to the door.
"Have some rest, My lady" Lin said and Lea nodded with a smile. "I will. Thank you for your company, Lin"
Lin said nothing but exited the room with a smile.
Finally, she was gone. Lea stood up from the chair and walked to the door, peeked out side through the opening when she opened the door a little.
No one within sight. But she couldn't guess because the whole place was dark.
She wondered why Valdemar would have her placed in the most darkest part of the Castle. It felt odd.
Before she could take another step out of the room, she heard the footsteps that came in her direction but was still a little bit far.
Damn it!
She quickly hurried back into the room and ran to her bed, grabbing the book that she just threw aside and pretending to read it with her legs covered with the blankets that was on the bed.
Men! Is she a good actress or what?!
Soon, a knock was heard on the door.
"Come in"
The door knob twisted and in came a handsome young guard.
Lea felt the butterflies in her stomach die down. She had really hoped that she will see Valdemar again.
"My lady?"
"Yes. Am I needed?" Lea asked with a sudden change in her.
She didn't know why she acted the way she did whenever she saw a guard and not Valdemar come into her room.
"Yes, My lady. The Prince has ordered all the ladies with easy going dresses or if you please, armours, so that he teaches all of you some royal fighting techniques"
Lea's mouth dropped. She already knew how to ride a horse and swing a dagger, but to get to do all those in front of Valdemar... What was she? A brave jester?
"Oh... I will be there"
The guard nodded and went outside the room.
Lea immediately sat on the comfy and pouncy bed, contemplating and her heart beating so fast and out of her chest as the thought of having to do all those things before Valdemar.
After having sitting down and thinking over it a little, she stood up and walked upto the closet.
There were two closets filled with Royal-like dresses. She needed something like an armour.
Lea walked to the door and surprisingly, the guard was still standing there. He had a confused expression, seeing her not changed.
"Where will I get the armour?" Lea asked.
"In the dressing room ahead, where all the ladies will be changing to it"
"Okay, let's... "
"Bring the armour here"
Lea nearly jumped at the hearing of Sir Butler's voice. "Sir Butler?"
"Bring the armour to the lady's room. You remember the Prince's order" he said and for once, Lea had seen him so serious and his voice so stern.
"Yes Sir, I will do that" The young guard strode off and went to to bring the set of armour.
"If you left this room to another room to go change, it can cause Edward his life" Sir Butler said.
"Edward?" Lea asked.
"The guard? His name is Edward"
Oh... A charming name.
Lea looked perplexed when Sir Butler said that. How will her changing in another room, cost Edward his life? Who was the cruel human who would let that happen or do that to him?
Lea said nothing in reply but just stared and gestured for the butler to come in.
"I see everything is in place. You will really know how to handle a Kingdom, my lady"
Lea blushed profusely and Sir Butler smiled.
Such charming old man with such a teasy and flattering tongue. He made Lea to immediately take in some flushy cheeks.
Just as Lea was about to thank him, the door split open and in came Edward with the set of armour.
It looked heavy but, Lea maintained her position, so as not to be stopped while helping him.
"Get dressed. I will be outside waiting for you" Sir Butler said as he wanted to exit the room with Edward.
"Wait!" Lea called back and they stopped in their tracks.
"How do I put these on?" Lea asked and Edward smiled at her funniness.
"I will call in Sarah and Alexis" The butler said and they exited the room.
The armour looks so shiny and heavy at sight.
What do they use to make these things? Some kind of iron? Lea thought.
The door opened in no time and in came Alexis and Sarah.
"There she is!" Alexis said with a wide smile as she hugged Lea.
"Welcome" Lea greeted back as she hugged her back.
Sarah smiled and they immediately started changing the clothes on Lea into the armour.
Lea felt embarrassed when her dress got unzipped and she stood in front of them with just a crop top and tights, inside having a strapped bra and her royal inner wears. Even if she didn't just have her bra and pants on, she felt embarrassed because no one have ever seen her like this. Not even her Dad.
Sarah helped with the armour fixing and soon, Lea was in the new set of armour that was once lying before her.
It was a curvy one though. It showed all curves her body have and didn't make her look too huge, unlike other armours she have seen.
Alexis finished it up by placing the helmet on Lea's head and both of them staring at the beautiful reflection of Lea, even when she was in armour.
"You look beautiful, My lady... "
"Please... Do call me Lea" Lea said and Alexis smiled and bent down swiftly.
"I will only call you that when we are alone"
Lea smiled and Alexis winked at her.
It was time to go. And to go to the training room.
