Lea wanted her eyes to peel out of it's lid and just fall off.
She gulped and stood there, motionless and staring at Valdemar as he came forward and stood right in front of her. She held her breath and felt her stimulus to Valdemar go high, extremely high.
All eyes on her, but she gathered the courage to look up.
Maybe this wasn't easy as she thought.
"Okay. All helmets on, now!"
Valdemar escaped a smirk towards Lea as they both placed their helmets on.
The ladies had helmets that covered their faces entirely. But the soldiers had half of their faces covered that is, from their noses and downwards.
While Valdemar had his nose upwards covered. Small holes were on the helmet, aiding Valdemar's sight through it.
They gave a large space between other ladies and their partners.
"Goodluck Princess" he said in a teasy voice and Lea felt like she was made fun of.
She said nothing in reply but had a smile on her face. Postures for attacking... Set!
"Begin!"
They all started swinging swords and daggers at each other. Lea fought with so much effort, that even the head of the soldiers and guards, were impressed.
But Valdemar didn't even raise his hand up to strike, he just kept dodging and defending himself with the sword beneath his grip and control.
Coward, Lea thought.
"Same as you" Valdemar said silently as they fought.
Gosh, he still accesses my thoughts! Lea thought again.
How could she forget?!
The fighting grew a bit tense and a lot of shouts and defeats were all over the ladies, but Marian and Lea kept going, even if they felt their hands go weak.
Lea withdrew her sword and walked in circles with Valdemar. She was panting in her armour, but Valdemar didn't even breathed like he did anything. He breathed at a normal rate.
Lea didn't attack this time. Everyone stared intensely as the ladies faced Valdemar and Edward.
Marian had a few scratches on the armour and so did Edward. But both Lea and Valdemar had nothing.
Just as Lea raised her hand to strike, Valdemar kicked the sword out of her grip and with a great thud on her shoulder she fell backwards.
She made it for the sword but the sharp tip of Valdemar's sword was already beneath her jaw, slightly touching her throat.
Even the guards and soldiers knew that Lea was a great fighter.
Lea breathed out in defeat, but she still thanked her father dearly in her heart for teaching her all these.
Valdemar sneered and withdrew his sword.
Even Marian was defeated.
Damn it!
Lea hates seeing this type of thing happening to people of her gender. Even if it was just a training.
Sir Butler quickly rushed with another guard and helped Lea up, alongside with Marian.
"That was a good one. Keep at it and you won't suck" Valdemar said as he passed by her.
Uh huh... I really won't suck... Cause I don't suck! Lea thought.
Sir Butler smiled at her as she removed the helmet.
"Don't worry. He can make someone to feel sissy sometimes" The other guard said and Sir Butler nudged his hand with a serious look on his face.
"It's okay. I think I understand what you mean"
Sir Butler smiled and the other guard nodded, grateful that Lea covered him up.
Sir Butler gave her a wet tissue and she cleaned her face as they both departed.
Marian ran to her and sat beside her on the ground. All the soldiers and guards are sitting on the ground. The men at one side and the the ladies at the other.
"Show him what you got, Lea. Stop being a Royal bluff" Marian said when she sat beside Lea.
"He can get hurt, Marian" Lea said as she used the now dirty and wet tissue to clean her helmet and thighs, because of the sand that stained it.
"Is that what you're thinking of? Think of the whole new world when you become Queen... "
"I may not be the one, Marian. Stop over assuming things"
Lea hurried off, out of the presence of Marian.
They were too fast to conclude that she was the one to become Queen. Probably Valdemar is just doing what is he doing with her just for them to not know his real bride.
Perhaps he even likes Marian. Or other ladies.
She just wasn't prepared for all these. She just wanted to see her dad and make sure that he is okay. That's all she wants.
Flinging the dirty wet tissue on the Field's ground, her heart skipped when she felt someone's arm slide across her waist
No one was looking so Valdemar came in front of her, slides and removed his hand simultaneously, away from her waist.
Lea saw three guards staring at them. This is so embarrassing...
"That's not what I expected from you" Valdemar said.
Lea took her eyes off the soldiers and into the blue eyes that looked so small in the helmet.
He took his helmet off in front of her and stared at her sternly.
"You should improve"
"Do you mind being a type of escapism for me?" Lea asked.
"I can't. Because you have to be ready to fight than to think over your worries. Just don't be erroneous with me, Princess"
"I am not erroneous. Do you mind having a watch over your tongue prince?" Lea said.
It is clear that Valdemar just want to get on her bad side, so that she will be a bit aggressive.
"I wish I could, Princess. But my partners don't possess that thing called equanimity that you do"
Lea's hand formed hard and stone like fists.
How dare he call her a person of equanimity? Fine, yes she does possess those things but not when she was in front of him or soldiers!
Valdemar caught a glimpse of her fists and said nothing.
His goal to make her angry and fight him was accomplished. So with a tap on her shoulder, he turned and walked to the other guards that laughed at some chit chats that they discussed about. The ladies glared at her now, except Marian.
Did they suddenly like Valdemar now?
Why was he being such a nuisance?
Lea felt so angry that the stick in her hand broke into two.
She felt like grabbing the silky hair of his and pull it out with force.
She sulked in deeply.
"Poser" she gnashed her teeth and let the words flow freely from in between her teeth.
Marian and even Valdemar was right...
She had to stop the stupid act of equanimity!
