Chapter 1 - Zane Felix

*crunch*

Two men can be seen sitting in a dark room, one with silver-white hair and the other with black hair. The one with silver-white hair sat in front of the window, holding a bag of chips. A sniper rifle could be seen leaning against the wall beside the window.

The black-haired man stood beside the door, tapping his foot with his arms crossed. He seems annoyed by his partner's chewing.

"Zane! You're supposed to be an assassin! Stop making so much noise!" Annoyed by the sound of chewing, he yelled.

"Says the one who's screaming. Plus, I don't think anyone can hear us from 2 km away." Zane replied then took out another chip.

"Just… " as he was about to continue, his phone vibrated. "The target has arrived."

Hearing this, Zane put down the bag of chips and took the rifle. He crouched in front of the window and aimed it towards a mansion.

Through the scope, a middle-aged man can be seen reading a book on his desk. Zane then turned off the safety and pushed the bolt handle forward.

*Click*

He placed his hand on the trigger and took a deep breath>

"*dakka*" he pulled the trigger.

The bullet travelled a distance of a kilometre and directly pierced through the target's head.

"Let's go, Edward, " after killing the target, Leon turned back and told his partner, Edward.

"Finally."

After quickly packing their things, Edward took out a rope. He tied one end to a pillar inside the room and threw the other end out the window. After that, he abseiled down the building.

After cleaning up, Zane also made his way down the building.

On the ground, there is a car waiting for them. Within minutes, they had already fled the scene.

Zane Felix or Zane for short is currently 20. He has silver-white hair and blue eyes.

The Felix family are infamous in the underworld for being skilled in assassinations. In a more peaceful and modern era, bounties and assassination requests are harder to come by. To support themselves, the Felix Family founded a Protection Service Agency while occasionally accepting bounties in secret.

Born in the Felix family, Zane is trained in the art of assassination from a very young age of 10. It is said that he has never failed a mission. And today, Zane has completed his 50th mission.

After a few minutes of driving, Zane and Edward arrived at a mansion -  the Felix Estate. As they make their way in, a blond woman could be seen sitting on a couch, reading a book.

"Oh, you're here Wendy." Edward greeted the woman, Wendy.

The blond woman is Wendy Lapis Edwards and Zane's team leader in the Protection Service Agency.

"You guys are back! We got a request!" Wendy said.

"Again? Alright, when is it?" Even though he was reluctant, Edward accepted and asked.

"I'll pass, I'm tired." Zane yawned and stretched his arms, preparing to leave.

"Wait! It's someone important and they specifically requested you!" The woman said in teary eyes.

"Nah."

"How about a 1-month vacation?"

"Make it 3."

"Deal!" The woman agreed immediately.

'I should have asked for longer.' Zane thought to himself.

"So when is it?" Edward asked.

"Next Thursday at 8 pm. The client will be going to a dinner party. We'll be in charge of protecting him until he reaches home. Easy right?"

"Ugh, a party?"

"It'll be fun. You can guard him from a distance, maybe from the buffet table." Wendy persuaded Zane with one of his weaknesses - food.

"Fine but this is the last time. Now if you'll excuse me, I need my sleep." Zane yawned again and headed to his room.

Thursday at 7 pm, Wendy and Edward arrived at the Felix estate to group up before meeting the client. A few minutes later, Zane opened the door.

"The hell are you wearing?" Wendy looked at Zane dumbfounded.

Zane who just arrived was wearing a black t-shirt and grey sweatpants, not to mention his unkempt hair.

"What's wrong with what I'm wearing? It's comfy." He replied.

"You can't wear that to a dinner party, go change!"

"Nah, I'm good."

"I guess it doesn't matter but they might not let you in though. I guess you'll just have to wait outside and have dinner yourself." Wendy's sudden change in tone had a slightly sinister vibe in it.

"Now that's settled, let's go." As Zane was about to head towards the car, Wendy spoke again.

"I heard the buffet is quite grand. It'll be a shame if you miss out on it. "

Just as Zane was about to grab the door handle, he froze.

"Give me a minute." As he said that, he rushed back to change.

Exactly a minute later, Zane returned wearing a black suit.

"Much better, let's go!" Wendy remarked.

About 7: 30 they picked up the client and headed to the hotel where the dinner party would be held. After 15 minutes, they arrived at the hotel. At 8 the party started and it went smoothly.

At 11: 30, the client decided to return. As they were heading toward the car.

*Vroom!* a car was heading towards them at full speed.

As the car closed in, Zane took out his gun and shot the driver in the shoulder, causing him to miss them and crash into a street light. It didn't end there, three other men came out of the car with guns in their hands.

"Run. I'll hold them off." Without a word Wendy and Edward took the client and ran while Zane stayed behind.

After they ran, one of the men tried to go after them. But before he could, a knife pierced his head, killing him instantly.

Seeing as their comrade died instantly, they went on guard and started shooting. Zane quickly took cover behind a nearby car and started shooting until he finished a round of bullets. Soon, the other side stopped shooting.

As they needed to reload, they hid behind their crushed car to avoid being shot. Not wanting to waste any bullets, they waited for an opening.

"He's not moving. Let's get him now." One of the men told the other.

"Wait. It's too risky…... "

As they were thinking of a plan,

*Shick* The sound of gun loading came from the car top.

Before they realised it, it was already too late.

*Bang* *Bang* two bullets pierced through their heads.

After they had been dealt with, Zane took out his phone to find his teammates. The tracker indicates that they remained in the same place for a while now, and might be hiding. Zane sent them a message and made his way to them.

As he followed the coordinates, he arrived at an abandoned 3 storey building. After checking his phone, he found that his message hadn't been read, making him more anxious.
