"You can't do this to me, Father!" He screamed in frustration.
"There is nothing that I, the king of Adarland, can't do. And this is the only way, son. This is the only way to protect her." The old king said in a stern voice but ended up whispering the last past.
"But Fath–"
"No more discussion! This is the only way to save our kingdom and to save us. " He said with the voice of finality.
"Ok, Father. I will get her ready." His voice broke toward the end.
He bowed and walked out from his father's chamber, and stopped near a huge door.
He took a deep breath and wiped a traitor tear that rolled down his eyes.
He opened the door and stumbled upon a toy horse, followed by a loud giggle.
He slowly followed the voice of giggle and stopped near a window with a big curtain.
"Where is my, Daisy? I can't see her." He looked around pretending to find her.
"I am not here dadda." A voice giggled, behind the curtains.
"Uffo. Now, who will eat these chocolates that I bought?Ummm. I guess I will give it to Stella." He slowly started walking away only to be stopped by a hand hug him.
"Dadda, no! Stella is not a good girl, but I am "That same voice said whilst hugging Stefan, the Prince of Anon, first in line in Adarland's thrown.
"Is it so, my daisy? " He said and crouched down towards his daughter's level and ruffled her hair.
"Yes, dadda! " She said and bobbled her head.
"Daisy, my love. I need you to be a good girl always, okay? " He whispered and his eyes glossed with unshed tears.
"Are you crying, dadda?" The little girl asked and her lips pouted in confusion. She has never seen her dadda cry, he was the strongest one. Like a superhero that they show in movies.
Stephan hears some footsteps coming in their direction and he knew that it was time.
He hugged his daughter close to his heart one last time as a tear rolled down his cheeks.
His daughter, his everything was about to be snatched away from him. His heart clenched painfully.
He took in a shaky breath, and just when he was about to talk with his daughter one last time he heard a knock.
Standing up, he quickly opened the door.
A man almost similar to his age entered wearing a long black coat and a cap that almost has hidden his face.
"Your royal highness, everything is ready. We have to leave right away. They are here." The man said after bowing down to him in respect.
"Just go through the secret passage and, "He cleared his throat to lease the lump that formed his throat before continuing, "just keep her safe, please. Not even a single scratch, Carson. " He warned.
"Yes, your royal highness, don't worry. I will give my life if I have to, but not even a single scratch shall touch to her royal highness. She will be safe and far away from this land."
"Take care of her, Carson. She is your daughter now." He said and looked toward his little princess, the future of Adarland playing with her toy horse and eating chocolates, unaware of the danger that is going to come.
"And I will take care of her just the way she deserves. "Carson said and bowed down in respect.
Prince Stephan turned toward his daughter and just when he was about the hug her once last time a loud gunshot was heard and at that moment, he knew that they have to leave this palace.
Carson quickly jumped into action and pulled the princess toward the secret passage behind the shelf in Stephen's room.
The little girl couldn't understand what was going on. She looked at her father as she was picked up by a man she has never seen in her life. She wanted to run and hug her father, but she knew something was not right. Her dadda never cries, but today she saw his eyes glossed in tears.
She could hear people scream all around the palace. She held the unknown man tightly as he opened the secret passage.
Just when they entered, she screams her father's name.
And before he could make it to inside the secret passage, a loud gunshot was heard and his body fell covering in a pool of blood.
