Chapter Twenty-three: The Revelation
It was all lies, an intricate web spun by my own guru, my own guardian, Lord Arya. He sacrificed countless lives only so he could keep the throne of the heaven, rule as its king for eternity. He could not rest easy on the throne so long as the prophecy lived that an agni asura would usurp him and begin the reign of the asuras. A thousand year old prophecy that I discovered fortuitously on my visit to the Gangotri Glacier, the glacier that never melts. Dear reader, if I am ever doubted, the cold words inscribed on the ice will serve as proof.
When the Nalini river bank massacre happened, I blamed myself and my faction members for the deaths of hundreds of innocent humans. Little did I know that it was a ploy to trick me into damning my own asura friends with the scourge, spark unrest in my camp.
