While Veer and Guru Briharshi were wrestling with the sinister creatures below, Vidyut was battling with them above on the ledge of the mountainside. He threw his pointed air daggers and slashed their throats as soon as any of them breached the giant crystalline air wall. He spied one of the dark figures wrenching its head through the wall right in front of where Surya was still seated meditating. It almost brushed Surya's skin with its long claws before Vidyut fired his dagger at the creature, which then slumped back and fell from the height down to the ground.
Before he could turn, Vidyut sensed another creature dashing towards them. Right at the nick of time, an air dagger flew out of Vidyut's hand and slashed the creature's throat while it was still leaping through air. It fell to the ground of the ledge and rolled away, howling in pain.
"Slimy bastard!" Vidyut cursed under his breath, remembering what Veer had called them.
