[Chapter warning: depiction of violence by a man-eating monster]
The rakshasa had taken the form of the carriage driver and infiltrated the convoy. The demon, now, grew ten times the size of a burly man. It crushed the carriage under its feet and stomped on anyone who crossed its path.
"Veer!" The prince called out to his friend, who was trying his best to keep up with the prince as their horses took a headlong gallop towards the pandemonium. "Collect the injured and pull them away from the carnage."
Veer rode away to follow the orders as Surya continued to charge towards the rakshasa. It was all chaos and mayhem. Some men were too cowardly to face the monster and deserted the scene, shrieking and crying. But most were brave knights of RakhtaPrastha, whose courage grew ten times when faced with an enemy. And with that tremendous courage, they charged at the demonic being, some with bows and arrows, others with steel.
