Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Opening a bakery

"Or selling bread by the roadside." I take back what I said earlier. The shitty old man had brought us to a hero and demon king type world. Fine, I dig that, but you couldn't set us up as anything more fun? Currently my old man looked like a healthy short haired man in his fifties. I on the other hand decided to keep my look. In a world of hero and demon king where there are all sorts of races, a youth that had black eyes with white pupil should not be too strange. The only thing I changed was the length of my hair. I kept it short, which honestly felt kind of fresh.

The old man had set up a bakery in the middle of town, right next to the city guild. "If you could do that then why not just make us part of the royal family or something, you shit old man!" I was slightly tilted. I was bored. According to him, this was him on vacation. I wanted to go home. If he wanted to go on a vacation, why drag me along for it. This was like a fishing trip with the old man when he knew perfectly well how to play the PsS in the house. We could have just stayed in and played some games.

I stood behind the counter with an extremely bored look and a glare which, honestly should have deterred most customers, but the store was almost packed full of women of all ages. If not for the fact that the shop was quite spacious, the place would have been quite cramped. My attempts to make the bakery a ghost shop was being thwarted by the wenches that were giving me and my father flirtatious looks. Even the glare was not working. In fact, I felt they were enjoying the glare. 'Damn it. Such a curse to be handsome.' Looking at some of the older women throwing my old man flirtatious glances as well made me want to throw up.

A party of four youths walked into the bakery who immediately caught my attention. The entire bunch of them was weird in my perspective. I ignored the two walking in front and concentrated on the two behind. I glared at my old man who pretended to not see my death glare. It was unfortunate that the destruction divinity that I was secretly trying to use to kill him was shrugged off him. "I knew you had something planned, you old bastard!" I continued to glare at him while we communicated in our minds, hoping his face would at least fall off, since my divinity could not harm him. "If we are here for your work then you can finish this in your office." I was tilted. The tick mark evident on my forehead.

"Calm down, calm down. We really are on vacation. Who said we can't solve work problems while having fun? Just have fun with it." I glared one last time and turned around. I was going back home. If he wanted to come down here to work then what was the point of making me cultivate and breakthrough?

'I'm going to tell mom that you are down here flirting with a hundred young mortal women.' I was almost out the back when my old man quickly hugged me and begun a series of submission moves on me. I did not know when it started, but each time he got nervous he took it out on me with a series of submission moves.

"Stop right there, brat. Don't you dare go spouting lies to you mother. You want her to kill us both?" By the time his words ended, I was already in a boston crab. He really was scared of mom, which was of course, reasonable. I paused to think about what he just said. For some reason his words were sound. I did not know how it ended up like that, but every time I went to tell on him I also ended up getting beat up as well.

"Besides, after we finish up here I promise I'll accompany you to one your worlds." He paused in a sleeper hold waiting for me to digest the new information. I tried to look at him suspiciously, but I couldn't. I did not know what sort of face he was making behind me, but I felt he was grinning like an idiot knowing he had gained my attention.

"Fine. But we do things my way when we do." I relented in the end. It was not that I could not leave him here and go to another world on my own, I could, but what was the fun in that? Having an endless life really was a long and boring time. It was much more fun doing stuff together, especially since he was my old man. It also helped that my old man was mischievous in his own way. It made messing around with him fun.

"Deal. But remember. This is work, handle it as such. Don't just intervene with everything." He just didn't want to do paperwork. What was the point of being a god if I couldn't do whatever I wanted? I nodded in understanding and he finally let go of me. We got back to the counter to a grey colored room. He had stopped time while we were having our conversation in the back. Unnecessary if you ask me.

Color returned to the room, and everyone resumed their movements. "Eh? Weren't you standing here a second ago?" A middle-aged woman who had picked out her bread and was ready to pay looked back and forth at my former location and where I was now standing behind the counter.

"Must have been your imagination." I answered with my bored look, completely ignoring her. Shortly after, my old man and I finished serving the horny ladies in the bakery, and with that, almost completely emptied the room. It also helped that the party of four that entered were a well-known group that surprisingly, the common folk did not want to offend. The few people left were the adventurers who were either hanging about with nothing to do or were pretending to be undecisive on what bread to get. In my opinion, they were either waiting so they could be in the same room as the new group, or they were hungry bums hoping to get a free piece of bread. As for why the old man set down tables and chairs in a bakery was beyond me.
