"That's it." After listening to nonstop tattling from the other end of the line, Lewis finally had enough. He immediately cut the call short.
Everything had its limit. He didn't want to listen to nonsense all day; even though he had some sort of compensation.
"Did you kill him?" Devon inquired in panic as she drew away.
Blink. Blink. Blink.
His lips parted, but closed them again. His subtle reaction made her furrow her brows even more.
'Should I tell her I did?' He wondered internally, raising a brow.
"I just hang up. I can't listen anymore. But he is fine." In the end, Lewis thought not to go for the extreme, just for his own amusement.
"I see. I'm glad to hear that." Devon heaved a sigh of relief as she patted her chest. "Can I meet him?"
"Huh?"
Seeing his puzzled reaction, Devon raised her finger and pointed at his phone.
"He sounded very disheartened. I wanted to talk to him." Devon explained with a subtle smile.
