Two months after the attack my father put me into training with Knights. He was impresses with my ability to fight that he thought it would be best if I received more from knights. Of course my mother disagreed. She said it was not princess like to train as if I were a knight. I was the princess and the knights were supposed to protect me not fight alongside me. My father kept persisting and with the help of Ian,Max,and a few other knights who saw me fight that day helped vouch for my father.
Eventually my mother gave in all but reluctantly. As long as I was not trained as brutally the usual knights that I was to remain a lady. I tried to protest against this told her that I could handle it but I knew that this was a losing battle. So now I am waiting for my trainer to get here. I was fine with my original trainer Sir Baldwin, but apparently I already am to advanced for starter level training. I have been training for a month now and need a more advanced trainer the leader of the knights. Everything I stood for goes through the window when I see who is coming. Dex. The silver eyed, cold man who disappeared for weeks and never once thought to check in.
A rush of anger, relief, and worry go through me and I try to figure out where the worry came from. He has given me no reason to worry about him at all. I don't move from my stance. He gets closer and stops a few feet in front of me. We are standing in a training yard full of dirt, weapons, obstacles, the necessary stuff to train a knight. A huge wooden fence surrounds three sides the fourth left open because the west side of the castle makes the fourth wall. My words come rushing out before I can even think to stop them. "Where the hell have you been?! You just disappear for weeks and don't even check in much less send a letter? How heartless can you be? To have your parents and brother worrying like that? What were you thinking?" "I was thinking that even though you are a princess and supposed to be refined and elegant, you still have the same attitude as a naive girl."

She doesn't look to happy to see that I am the one training her."Where the hell have you been?! You just disappear for weeks and don't even check in much less send a letter? How heartless can you be? To have your parents and brother worrying like that? What were you thinking?" I was right. She seems to be mostly mad but I imagine she might even be a little worried about me. Why do you care if shes worried about you or not? You gave up caring about that stuff a long time ago. "I was thinking that even though you are a princess and supposed to be refined and elegant, you still have the same attitude as a naive girl." She goes livid. "Still the same attitude as before I left.Your still naive and to headstrong." She rolls her eyes. "And you are still arrogant and rude. Acting like nothing bothers you." I can't keep my mouth from turning up a little. She is so stubborn. "Whatever lets just get started."

"Still the same attitude as before I left.Your still naive and to headstrong." I rolls my eyes at his comment nit letting it faze me. "And you are still arrogant and rude. Acting like nothing bothers you." I thought I saw him smile just the littlest bit. But its gone quickly."Whatever lets just get started." I sigh and follow him to a platform. "The first lesson of a knight is always being prepared. You must always be able to sense what is going on around you so that you are never caught off guard." He circles around me as he speaks."Never let someone believe you aren't paying attention."
"Well how would they-" Suddenly a foot kicks the back of my knees causing them to buckle. I fell knees first to the ground and barley catching myself with my hands before hitting my face. Sharp hard pains go through my knees where they connected with the hard ground."You must never let your guard down." I let myself get over the shock, then I swing around and connect my left foot with Dex's leg it gives way and he kneels to the ground grunting. I stand up all of the way and look down at him. "I know the basic rules. And I had years of martial arts training. It may not be the same as knight training but I think it will suffice." Dex looks up at me and for the first time since I met him I realize his eyes aren't silver. They are a really bright gray with small gold flecks. I realize my mistake to late and Dex has stood up and spin behind me grabbing my arms and pinning them to my side's."Clearly it won't because when taking an enemy don't talk to long and give them the chance to get you." I roll my eyes and make my move. I bring my foot up and stomp his foot. That makes him release me. Then I bring an elbow to his chest and then spin kick him sending him stumbling backwards.
"And yet as you say these things you still don't take your own advice." He advances on me but I quickly ariel out of the way landing on the other side of him. "Got to be quicker then that knight." He advances again and I jump up and grab the pole above my head swinging myself over him. I land behind him and push his back hard enough to send him face first into the wall. At least thats what I wanted. Instead he brings his foot up tp the wall and pishes himself up into a backflip landing on his feet and away from the wall. "Seems I underestimated your ability." I shrug. "I was trained by my parents an a martial art's teacher."

I go to advance on her again but she's ready. She jumps up and grabs the pole above her head and swings over me. I don't have time to figure out what shes doing next before she pushes my back and sends me forward towards the wall. I react quickly and bring my foot up pushing myself up into a backflip and land. She is much better and quicker then I thought. Shes impressive."Seems I underestimated your ability. " What she says next shocks me. "I was trained by my parents and a martial arts teacher." It took me a minute but I realized she was talking about the Sargent and Captain. I might be in over my head if the Sargent and the Captain both trained with her. They were an amazing team. There are books and paintings depicting their fights when they were young. I don't doubt my abilities and I should not doubt hers she is clearly skilled and trained well. She must know the ways of being a knight if she was trained by her parents, but I was trained by mine. This is going to be interesting. I have never trained with someone to match my skill besides Max and Oxford. Especially not a girl.
