Chapter 55 - Ominous Call

Aline frowned,

"You've been awfully quiet. Have you killed the royals and the Cross Heart Adventurers?"

Aline frowned,

She laughed. "Of course, commander, we killed them very easily."

"That's good, I will be sending people over to check the situation. The attack is starting at Hasab Island in seven days, so get here immediately. And we'll be cutting all communication till then"

The connection cut off, Aline frowning at the hub,

Her train of thought got interrupted by two people appearing in the ship, the two frowning at her appearance.

"You aren't the fifth head."

Aline flipped one of her swords in her hands, tilting her head. "Sad, isn't it."

They moved to attack, but she sliced their stomachs in one cut. They fell to the ground, her back side falling on their backs. "Sorry boys, but I can't die just yet…so how about you start talking."

...

"Captain Aiya, we intercepted a weird call."

Somewhere in Alba, a navy ship sailed aimlessly. A navy officer ran into an office, placing a large hub with antennas at the top on the table.

"Get a pen and paper and write down the key words," Aiya ordered.

The man saluted, doing what he was told. A voice came from the hub all scratched up.

"Kill…royals… Cross Heart Adventurers…Hasab… seven days."

"Cross Heart Adventurers huh," Aiya said. "Weren't they tasked with guiding the Alba royalty to Costa?"

"Yes ma'am, our last recorded location of their ship was Hama Island."

Aiya snapped her fingers. "Put the admiral on the line."

He saluted, running out of the room to get a hub. Alek listened to Aiya speak before he laughed loudly. "It seems our little adventurers have gotten caught up in something interesting."

"Can I investigate this?"

"Are you finally interested in journalism?"

She narrowed her eyes. "Sir, this is strictly military interference."

He laughed again. "Do what you need to do, I'll let you make any call you want. Just decide what your justice is and stick with it, that's what makes a fine officer."

She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah."

She ended the call, walking to the deck. The officers with her turned to face her, the captain giving her orders.

"Head straight to the Alba capital, Hasab Island."

...

After the events of the day, the crew and the royals went to a hospital to get their wounds treated. The doctors had been stunned when they fell into the building all battered and bruised, but treated them, nonetheless.

"Thank you for protecting us," Aziz said, bowing to Paolo who sat on the bed beside his. "It's my fault you guys ended up all injured."

Luna pinched the prince's cheek. "Don't say that."

Octavius nodded. "She's right, it's our job after all."

The door burst open, revealing Aline. "I have arrived." They all glared at her while she grinned. "I'm so happy you idiots and the royals are safe."

Paolo smiled. "Ah you're here."

"You stupid bitch, you didn't show up to help us at all," Shinzo snapped.

She giggled, hands on her lips. "Naturally I'd be offended, but I have discovered something that will have my sins forgiven."

Shinzo rolled his eyes. "As if anything you say will shock-"

"I spoke to the head of the Ichi Army."

"Huh!"

She grinned, happy to have gotten a response out of them. "For reasons you don't need to know, I was on their ship, and I happened to get information on not only his identity, but his plans too."

"Go on…" Luna said.

"I told him we're dead, so we have to keep a low profile for a while," Aline said. "And in relation to his identity, you'll never believe it, but this guy is a World Adventurer."

"Who?" Paolo asked.

"Leon."

All their eyes widened at the information, Luna grabbing Aline's shoulder. "I hope by that you don't mean Leon, the World Adventurer that works under King Ferrum and is nicknamed the second king of Alba."

Aline nodded solemnly. "That's him."

"This is horrible," Shinzo mumbled.

"And get this, he is planning on taking over Alba. They are starting their attack from Hasab Island in seven days."

Aziz frowned. "That's where the prime minister's office is located."

"Good job getting all this information, Aline," Paolo said.

She grinned, spinning around. "Praise me more, I am amazing."

Aziz stared at his lap, clenching his blanket. "If he takes over Alba, it's all over."

"We should send a report to the Earthians," Luna suggested.

Octavius shook his head. "That won't work. The World Adventurers work directly under the government. I doubt they'd believe us. Plus, he works under the Ferrum family, meaning he is protected by the Ferrum name."

The prince stood to his feet, surprising the crew. "I know this is too much to ask especially coming from me, but I can't let him hurt the country I love so dearly." He turned to Paolo with a determined look on his face. "Captain Paolo, I need you to help me stop the attack."

Paolo smiled. "If you look at me like that, how could I say no?"

The prince smiled, tears at the tip of his eyes. "Thank you, Paolo."

"What are we waiting for?" Luna said standing up from her bed. "Let's go."

...

The seven of them and Cairo quickly left the hospital, ignoring the pleas of the doctors. Aziz apologized profusely and paid the hospital bill before they ran out.

Aline and Shinzo glared at each other, pointing at their produce.

"My crate is way bigger than yours."

"Are you blind? I caught more fish than you've ever done in your life."

"They're both pretty good though," Paolo commented.

They glared at him. "Shut up!"

"Octavius, mine is bigger right?" Shinzo asked.

"I don't care," he said, dropping his box of materials.

"Just call it a draw," Anisa suggested.

"That's as well saying we lose," Aline snapped.

Luna sighed, looking down at them from the top deck. "Just carry it to the pantry, we need to start moving."

After all preparation were finished, the ship pulled out of the harbor of Hama Island. Luna settled into one of their beach chairs with a sigh. "I'm so tired I could faint." She smiled at Aziz who stood lost in thought. "Don't look so worried, we'll help your country."

Aziz nodded. "I'm counting on all your help."

Aline burst out of the kitchen with a stack of food. "Let's throw all our worries into the air and enjoy some food."

"Party," Octavius and Paolo cheered.

Aline laughed. "Of course."

Aziz watched with a small smile as the crew gathered to have fun. With a lighter heart, he moved to join the festivities. The Cross Heart Adventurers ship headed to Hasab Island.
