After taking a while to come to terms with his newfound memories and foreign surroundings, the boy finally mumbled, "So, my name is Arion Elsar...I am Arion…I am not Evan anymore..."
When he first opened his eyes, he felt an identity confusion, not knowing who he really was or which one of his life was real, or whether all his previous memories were just a nightmare or not.
However, now he felt that all his previous memories were indeed real, but now he accepted that he was Arion, a disabled boy living in a village and that this was his new life which couldn't be worse than his previous one.
'I can't believe reincarnation was a thing...a new world...different language...and even magic-like stuff?' Arion mumbled as he felt strangely familiar with an unfamiliar language.
But then his expression became ugly as he looked at his legs and lamented, "Oh heavens...why curse me with such a fate...what did I ever do to you…"
Flashbacks of the strange old man conversing with him flashed in his mind, "That old geezer...his dragon Origin Blood or something...why the hell am I am disabled then??" Arion roared, feeling aggrieved.
'Damn it, that oldie scammed me…dragon my ass...' Arion couldn't help but grumble bitterly.
He felt that his fate was even worse in this new life and felt like crying his heart out for being unable to move his legs. At least, in his previous life, he was not a disabled person and even had the special power to change his appearance.
Now, he wondered if he still had that ability.
He, however, quickly put back his thoughts in order and remembered that he was about to help a boy.
But just as he turned towards the boy…
"Ari, where are you?" A woman's shout echoed in the area, and Arion turned around in the direction of his voice.
The woman met Arion's gaze as she looked around, and a relieved smile hung on her lips as she ran towards him.
However, Arion had a stunned expression seeing this voluptuous beauty rushing towards him. Her face had youngish features, but her body had a mature charm, especially her slim waist and well-proportioned curves at the right places.
Her skin pale and radiant as the moon; her eyebrows were curved like the rainbows, and her hazel eyes were as beautiful as twin daisies.
Her long silky black hair fluttered in the air as she ran while Arion involuntarily let down a gulp seeing her bosoms jiggling with each of her steps.
He had only seen such scenes in anime and thought they were pretty exaggerated. Only now he started having doubts about it.
Despite wearing a simple blue tunic and skirt, it didn't diminish her elegance one bit and suited her tall figure.
Thinking about how Aldress mentioned that the so-called beautiful women he knew in his previous life would be just ugly toads compared to the goddesses in this world, Arion wondered if he was really seeing one of such goddesses.
"Sister Mei?" Arion unconsciously muttered as he saw the woman running towards him. He was sure that not even the top models in his previous life who did all kinds of plastic surgeries could even be compared with the beauty in front of him.
In his perspective, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever met and wondered how an otherwordly beauty like her could exist in reality.
"Ari, didn't I tell you not to wander around on your own? How many times have I warned you? Oh my god! What happened to your wrist?" Mei said in a strained tone as her beautiful brows wrinkled. She gently took his wrist into her hands as she examined it.
Arion suddenly felt guilty as he saw how worried she was. Even though he felt like he was seeing her for the first time, he also felt strangely familiar with her not only because of his memories but because of his heart as well.
After all, in this life, she was the one who took care of him for most of his life and gave him a better life compared to the initial rough times he had in the orphanage during the time he was a small kid.
He lowered his head and said in a low voice, "I am sorry, Sister Mei. I just wanted some fresh air and accidentally fell off my wheelchair, hitting my wrist on the ground."
Mei gave a light knock on his forehead and said, "Silly. I am not angry at you. I was just worried. You always give me a heart attack whenever you wander off. What if something...haa...forget it. Let's go home, and I will treat your arm. Fortunately, it doesn't seem that bad."
Mei was about to grab the handle of his wheelchair when Arion held her wrist and said, "Wait, Sister Mei. There is an injured boy near the stream. I was about to look for you to help him."
Arion pointed towards the boy, and as Mei followed the direction he was pointing to, she was surprised to see a bloodied figure lying on the ground near the stream.
"How did he end up here?" She mumbled as she walked over to the boy to get a closer look. As she got close to the boy, her brows knit together and then asked Arion, "Ari, are you sure you want to save him?"
"Huh?" Arion felt puzzled by her sudden question and nodded, "Yeah, why not. I was already in the middle of helping him. So, I might as well follow through with it. I don't like to leave anything in the middle of it."
Mei smiled and crouched to examine the boy, "Hmm, his body is strong, so he won't die. He should slowly recover after I treat him."
Arion smiled, "I know, Sister Mei is the best Healifier in the world."
Mei let out a soft chuckle as she lifted the boy and carried him in her arms. She then asked Arion as they walked towards their home, "Ari, why do you seem a bit out of it? Did something happen?"
Arion became flustered, but he quickly hid it and said in a surprised tone, "Really? Maybe it's a part of growing up?"
Arion felt complicated since he didn't know who he really was, whether he was Evan or Arion in mind and soul.
It was quite an inexplicable situation for him and surreal. So, he couldn't help but come out with a simple excuse that he could think of on the spot.
But only after he spoke, he realized that, he overthought her question.
Mei nodded and said in an understanding tone, "Ah, I see. You are at the age where you are finally growing up into a man. The age when boys usually become more introspective, is it so?"
Arion pursed his lips, "Sister Mei, I am already a man." Arion, for some reason, didn't want Mei to look at him as a kid, so he felt a bit sour about it.
Mei let out a melodious laugh and said, "Haha, sure you are. Now you seem like your usual self."
She then continued in a serious tone as she looked at the bloodied boy on her arms, "Still, I wonder where he came from. Why don't you explain what happened?"
Arion told her the details right from the beginning. But it only made Mei even more baffled about the whole incident.
"Shocking, right? I mean, how could he survive such a fall? I don't know from where he started falling, but when I looked up, he was at least thirty meters above the ground. And even falling from such a height would usually kill someone as young as him," Arion said with a hint of awe in his voice.
"Not really, if he is a Defier," Mei said with a certain glint in her eyes.

A/N :- I see some saying how confusing this chapter is but honestly there is nothing much to be confused about. The MC had his body destroyed in his previous life and the wheelchair boy clearly muttered his previous life name 'Evan' and even accepted his new identity, thereby clearly showing us that he is the MC. No need to overcomplicate things by thinking about the bloodied guy who fell from the sky. That's another story to tell.
