A night with such astonishment at a usual fun place since it's just my first time around here, the atmosphere is filled with warm crowd's voices, making joyful sounds to spread inner positivity. Cotton candies, teddy bears, roller coasters, and many others as kids will seem enough to have fun for themselves with their parents inside the amusement park.
With all the unrest of imagining this place, I start noticing that I admirably have thought too long, so I begin looking out for Jaime. Unexpectedly when I spotted Jaime, they about to start an argument with the guy who's in charge of receiving the payment for the entrance fee here inside the amusement park. Good thing that I'm just in time to stop Jaime before they start a close rap battle with him by grabbing their waist with both arms.
Jaime's smile morphed into a scowl, "Why do you let people pay for the entrance?! I'll call the police! You guys are scams!" Jaime quickly barked; their tone is not in a mood for being friendly towards the guy.
Poor guy, probably someone just hired him to do his job.
I have the melancholy feeling that people will find irritating about you.
I stood up for the guy, who's currently in charge, and gently said, "Jaime, it's just ten pesos, which is totally not a big deal for me."
Jaime turned around and shifted their eyes at me, and we look like we are dancing for the prom, holding them firmly still with both arms on their waist for Jaime that they shouldn't be getting into any trouble. "But people like you shouldn't be paying like that, Kaiden," Jaime explained how she wanted to start a cursing rap battle.
"Business is business Jaime, and mercy is not their language. Besides, maybe he has some family to feed." I told Jaime a fact.
Jaime sighs heavily in defeat, "Fine, can you let me off now, Kaiden?"
"Nope, because the last time I did, you started a fight," I said from my wise thoughts and commencing to push Jaime far from the guy with my arms carrying their whole body from the waist. Luckily, Jaime is not heavy as I expected.
"Oh great! You just outwitted me." Their arms locked to their chest, putting them in a bad mood.
"Look, mommy, are they both look cute as a happy couple?" The innocent child, who's cutely adorable, Asian, and currently holding a lollipop, said politely to his mother.
Jaime's eye instantly shifted at the boy and showing him an intense mad look, "We overheard you!" Jaime told the child in a loudly average voice.
I awkwardly chuckled at the child and the mother beside him and said, "Sorry, Jaime didn't mean that to be mad at you." The boy didn't cry, didn't react, but he stays on an adorable poker face and stands still with the lollipop. Probably he has forgiven me, so I continue moving with Jaime and start passing them by.
This mistaken us sometimes
But one question is… why bother?
Except for the child since he's adorably cute
I stopped walking and carrying Jaime simultaneously at the Viking ride nearby as I guessed it's far enough, "Jaime! I won't let you get yourself into trouble. Aren't we here to have fun remember?" I asked Jaime, for they know what we are here for.
They rolled her eyes and briefly stares in different directions. Jaime sighs deeply, "Fine, I'm sorry." Jaime realized and told me in a significant matter.
Oh, I didn't expect that to be easy
"Good, so I'm letting you off now." I gently said, slowly releasing my arms from Jaime's waist.
As Jaime is freed, they immediately pick out their side bag and pulls out a purse, "Here! Accept this, or else I'll go back to fight that menace." Jaime hands out a blue bill, waiting for me to receive it.
"Jaime, I can't accept that." I refused Jaime's offer, smiling in tightly-lipped
"Fine, I'll go back then," Jaime said, who's now attempting to walk back towards the guy at the entrance.
"Okay! Okay!" I stopped Jaime by simply blocking their way. Then shyly grabs the thousand bill from Jaime's right hand. "Jaime, thank you so much. Do you need my sympathy?" I took a bow before I asked, showing kindness and thankful I am for their generosity.
"You already did." She happily said, their mood changed instantly. Then Jaime starts thinking about where to start first by looking at their surroundings. "Okay! since we're done talking that menace from the entrance, why don't we take a Viking ride first?" Jaime pointed a ride from my back.
I turned around and tried to judge with it. Then I replied, "Hmm… I don't have any objections." I eyed Jaime, smiling.
"I'll cover all the expenses," Jaime said, smiling.
I had no experience with the rides as this is my first time coming here with my best friend. My family wouldn't even let me when I was a child, so I can't wait to feel what it feels like right now.
Jaime bought the tickets and managed to make it through from the entrance. We seated beside each other and buckled ourselves after. Shockingly after setting up, I observe around who else participated in the ride, and I noticed a man. The same man I saw from the cafe, who's wearing all black including the shades, flat cap, and some sort like a scarf to cover his mouth, and his body shape makes my guess more possibly to be correct. However, I assumed that it's just a coincidence since he is already there before us.
"Ready, Kaiden?" Jaime startled.
I shake my head to refresh myself and immediately shifted my eye to Jaime and said, "Oh yes, by the way, is this gonna make me... you know... vomit?"
"You'll see," Jaime replied slowly, chuckles evilly.
"Did you give me that laugh? I'm going to drop off." I spoke with a weak intensity of fear.
"Oh, it's about to start!" Jaime excitingly smiled.
"Oh no." My head swayed to the other side, and I feel too regretful in doing this.
After the ride, my condition didn't turn out so well; I'm holding my stomach to prevent myself from vomiting but what's worse is I get to taste the food I ate from my stomach, I gulped, and it went back to the stomach again. I receive disgustingly chills and have decided not to ride again.
"So Kaiden, how was it?" Jaime started a conversation, and their mood is precisely the opposite of mine.
"Terrible! At first, I thought I was going to fall. Second, I didn't expect to cry because my stomach was tickling me when heading down the boat, and third! I even swallowed the digested food from my stomach!" I genuinely grumbled.
"Oh, poor Kaiden." Jaime touches both sides of my cheeks after that, then tries pinching it softly.
"How come you didn't feel as I did?" I asked.
"Oh, I feel the same way as you told me, excluding the third one. However, we chose different responses, and unlike you, I chose to laugh." Jaime replied. Their eye shifted to somewhere around, "Oooh. That ride seems safe for you, Kaiden." Jaime tried suggesting.
"Sure" I nodded and smiled falsely.
We take another few rides, Tilt-A-Whirl and Ferris Wheel. We had fun, ate cotton candies, laughed together, and promised that it is unlike the Viking ride, which doesn't make me sob.
"Jaime, what is that over there?" I asked Jaime, pointing out the ride, which has cars in it.
"That is called bumper cars Kaiden, why? You mind want to try?" Jaime eyed me, smiling.
"I don't know, and it's getting late, actually." I feel uncertain.
"Come on! Don't be scared. I'll join with you." Jaime encouragingly told me, patting my one shoulder.
Jaime gently grabs my hand and takes me with them to the last ride for today's evening. We have entered after Jaime bought the tickets, and other people who have participated start picking their car, and luckily, Jaime has saved one for me.
"Kaiden! Over here!" Jaime waves massively over their head.
I hopped on that car and started tying the seatbelt. My hands touched the steering wheel, and I suddenly felt the excitement until I briefly stared into others. "This feels me a little childish, don't you think, Jaime?" I asked Jaime, having doubts about doing this.
"Kaiden, everyone wants to get back on their old childhood ways to encounter, manage, and take over the stress or any other negativities. Sometimes we need to pause for everyone, including us, to rest or have fun." So Jaime told me heartedly, which is very accurate. Then she shifted their eye to the steering wheel, tries to play with it. "Brooooooom… brooooooom!" Jaime pretends that they are in an actual virtual racing game.
