The rest of the week passed in a blur. Packing all of my stuff and having it transported to the palace was more labor than I had realized. Every night I used to fall on the bed fully exhausted from all the packing and fall asleep. Through all of this there was one thought that kept haunting me the amnesia of my dear friend Ryker aka the previous- disappearing- royal- hacker. How could he not remember that he had been the royal hacker and then had disappeared? How could he forget an entire week of his life!! Wait, THE most important week of his life just because of an accident!! Thus, as any normal human being would think in this kind of situation I thought that someone orchestrated this specifically for him. They might have known that all this will happen. And that as soon as they pushed the first domino it will all come falling down. I was worried that I was just one of the many dominoes that will fall in the oncoming time. I was worried someone else I cared about might be in those many lines of dominoes. I was even worried that someone I will/might learn to care about was the one who pushed the first domino down. I shook my head to clear these negative thoughts but they stuck like super glue. In the end I finally gave up and crashed on my bed.
No, no, nope. Not the alarm!! I was dreaming about chocolate before this devilish alarm clock starts to "cock-a-doodle-doo" and wake me up. I pressed my face in my pillow. Ugh! Why can't alarm clocks cease to exist?? I directed my anger onto my pillow which and threw across the room and then muttered and apology to it. I hit the snooze button on the alarm clock and got up for the day. It was the big day. I was report to the palace in... half an hour?!! How is that even possible? I set my alarm for 7:30. It is 9 in the morning!! I don't even remember hitting snooze before right now!! I ran to the bathroom and showered, brushed and dressed in a hurry. I tumbled out of my apartment ready to call a taxi when I found one of the palace cars outside. I looked at in confusion. I didn't see the press in this area today so, which important celebrity was here? And how had they managed to avoid the paparazzi? I shrugged. And began taking my phone out to book Uber.
"Sir." I looked up not frazzled at all. I found the palace driver looking at me with the passenger door open. What? The car was for me! Wow! I guess being a royal hacker does have it's perks. I walked towards the beauty of a car and sat inside it. The gate closed from the outside. The inside was cold as ice cream. I guess it was just one of the perks of being a royal hacker. I got comfortable and gazed out the window. It felt calm and serene. Unlike the days that were gonna come ahead. But did I know about it. Nope! I was just a naïve royal hacker at the time. One who watches buildings zip by in the palace car and sighs.
