Woah!! Yep. That pretty much sums up the palace. As soon as I entered the massive estate. I saw gardens stretching out till the horizon. Flowers of shades red, yellow, blue, orange bordered the path and dotted the garden. The vast expanse was also filled with courts for sports like archery and stuff. I didn't even recognize a few of them. The car sped on and stopped in front of the palace. The palace was huge. And that was the understatement of the year. The palace made me feel like a new-born ant. The doors were huge and opened inside. The exterior was adorned with designs worth louvre. It covered a large expanse. I stepped inside the mahogany doors and found myself immersed in whoa!! Diamond and gold chandeliers hung from the ceiling. The walls were adorned with Pollock, Michelangelo, Da Vinci and a few I did not recognize. I tumbled down the hall not knowing where to report. Then I stopped in front of the two massive staircases. Admiring the grandeur. The wonders of working here will never cease to amaze me!! "Mr. snowgarden?" I turned around so fast that my bag almost hit the guards face. Never, ever should anyone sneak on me like that! I smiled politely at him and waited for him to continue. While I was cussing at him in my head (please don't judge me). "The princess will be seeing you right now. Follow me." he said.
"The princess?" I asked.
"Yes. The king, queen and prince are too busy preparing for the oncoming war so, you will have to meet report to the princess for your duties." He answered. Though after he had said so he looked a bit uncomfortable as he had just released some top secret information.
"Oh! ok." I said. Although, half of it didn't even make any sense to me. Oncoming war? Princess? I thought there weren't any princesses in this royal line!! A secret princess? How could such a thing even be kept secret. As I thought about it I knew I was acting childish. Of course such things could be hidden. I was a hacker. I knew this was possible. People did such things all the time. I shook my head. I probably must have misheard the guard. He must have said prince. I walked behind behind him.
"Where did you say I'm meeting the prince again?" I asked.
"Princess.' He corrected. "You are going to be meeting her in your new work place." He said.
I looked at him weird. Why is he repeating the word princess? "But I thought we only had a crown prince."
"I'll let the princess explain everything to you." He said.
"Ok." We continued the walk in silence. We wove through corridors similar to the one in the beginning. But my mind was on other things. A princess? I mean, come on! Like the oncoming war wasn't a bomb. The royal palace had to create a full atomic explosion! The politics never cease to amaze me. I rolled my eyes. Before I even knew the guard in front of me stopped. Me being so endorsed in my thoughts almost bumped straight into him. He asked me to wait there while he went in. I was so tense that I started humming yankee-doodle which was a first timer for me. I mean, a princess!! "Mr. Snowgarden." said the guard, startling me for the second time this morning. Seriously! He needs to stop moving so quietly!! "The princess will see you now." I took a deep breath and stabilized myself. Then I entered. This was the third time this morning that a, whoa escaped my lips. The entire room was filled with state of the tech. Computers, tablets, machines, it was a hacker's heaven! But wait, was my quota of surprises over? nope. "Bella?!"
"Alphonse!!" Bella cried and tumbled into my arms..
Although we had a history. (Not a relationship.) I was amused to see her here. I was also angry and exasperated at her but I chose not to destroy her little bubble of delusion.
