The next day when Alissa woke up, she found a damp cloth laying on her head and discovered herself in a new pair of pajamas. Next to the bed she was laying on, was Aron who was lying on the floor. Last night, after Evelyn was done cleaning Alissa, she gave Alissa her pajamas to wear, since they were more comfortable than her battle suit. Then, she left Aron's room, and Aron went back to placing the cold compresses on Alissa's forehead.
When Alissa's complexion started looking better, Aron felt relieved and fell asleep. The whole night he was stressed wondering whether it was the right decision to take Alissa to his house. Many times as he was treating her he wondered if he should've taken her to the hospital.
While Alissa was assessing the situation she was in, Aron also woke up. Groggily, he opened his eyes, but when he saw Alissa awake, he abruptly jolted awake, worried she would misunderstand him. After all, he was sleeping in the same room as her, and she wasn't wearing the same clothes as she wore yesterday. Immediately, Aron began clarifying.
Alissa nodded her head as she listened to his explanation. When Aron was done, he went downstairs to make breakfast. Alissa tried many times to get up and help him with his morning chores, however, Aron stubbornly refused her. He didn't want her to fall sick again.
Then, after making sure she was resting, Aron hurried downstairs.
In the kitchen, Aron noticed he was in a dilemma. He didn't know what to make for breakfast. Evelyn's school was about to start so he had to hurry. After some quick thinking, Aron decided to make porridge. He could make it quick for Evelyn, and it was a soothing meal for Alissa, killing two birds with one stone.
Aron hastily made the porridge and set it on the dining table. He called for Evelyn and Alissa, and then went to check the mail.
Alissa was first to come down the stairs. She was in Aron's bedroom, bored, doing nothing, so she rushed downstairs.
She didn't see Aron when she went downstairs, but guessed he was checking the mail, since her acute ears could hear him outside.
When Aron came back holding a handful of letters, he noticed Alissa joyfully eating the porridge on the dining table. He sat along with her and called Evelyn one more time. This was a daily routine for him. It took several calls before Evelyn finally came downstairs.
When Evelyn came downstairs, he noticed that she hadn't gotten a good sleep. He felt bad because he had awoken her in the middle of the night.
Evelyn sat down beside him and started eating.
Aron went back to checking his mail.
As he was checking his mail, Alissa kept on stealing glances at him. She watched as he laid his mail on the table. While looking, a letter caught her eyes.
The letter was bright red and decorated with several hearts. It looked like a love letter.
Suddenly, it felt as if her heart stopped, and she stopped breathing. She didn't know what was happening. She thought it was a heart disease. However, as she looked at the letter, her heart kept on tightening. Finally, she understood that the source of the problem was the love letter.
She started reaching towards it.
