The mood immediately shifted as Alissa reached into her Louis Vuitton purse and pulled out the draft of the contract. Aron noticed the expensive purse and wondered, was this called not flaunting your wealth?
Aron grabbed the contract and hastily read over it. He was surprised by the amount of benefits he got.
Aron hadn't even expected to get a salary of 100,000 dollars for the whole year, however, he was receiving it as down payment. He also got free access to all of the All Star's Dungeons and got to keep all the items that the monsters he killed, dropped. In addition, the profits generated from selling monster materials would be split in a 60:40 ratio, with him getting 60% of the profits, while the guild got only 40%. The best benefit was the part that neither party could back out of this contract until the end of two years. That meant he had a stable source of income for two years.
This was too good of a deal. Not even the highest ranked adventurers in the world got such a deal. Aron immediately wanted to shout, "Yes!", however, one thing struck him odd.
Typed in small letters was a clause. Aron knew such a good deal wasn't possible without a drawback. Aron squinted and looked closer at the text.
Alissa squirmed in her seat as she watched Aron scan the paper. She knew he had seen the condition she had written and was wondering how he would react to it.
The condition stated that Alissa would enter all the dungeons he entered along with him in order to observe his progress. This made Aron recall that Alissa knew the basics of his ability, since she had clearly watched him use it with her own eyes. Aron wondered if Alissa was contracting him as a token of thanks or for her own benefits. Not that he cared. All that mattered to him was that he earned enough money and was powerful enough to protect his loved ones. He already knew that there was no contract with only benefits for one party. Both parties needed to benefit.
Included in the condition, Aron had to enter a dungeon at least once every two weeks. Aron scrunched up his face, thinking whether or not he could convince Evelyn to let him enter a dungeon so often.
Ever since the day he came late when attacked by a goblin, Evelyn was worried about him going to dungeons. To make it worse, a few days after coming home late, he ended up in a fight with gangsters. He wasn't sure if Evelyn would let him stay in higher ranked dungeons, where he was at more risk and would have to fight for longer hours.
Alissa, noticing his scrunched up face, wondered if he didn't like her condition.
Frightened by the thought of him rejecting her offer, she blurted, "I'll increase the down payment to $200,000."
Aron quickly shook his head. He didn't want to exploit the girl in front of him. He then grabbed the contract and signed it.
Alissa, then, sighed and relaxed. A subtle smile could be seen on her face, but in her heart, she was actually jumping with joy. Seeing her cold facade was about to slip, Alissa grabbed the contract and immediately left. But, before leaving, she remembered to say one last thing to Aron.
"Let's meet at the E Class Dungeon, Devil's Tunnel, tomorrow. I hope the contract goes well. Goodbye."
Though Aron felt going to a dungeon tomorrow was sudden, he was excited.
He wanted to use his powers again, as soon as possible.
