Chapter 8 - Chapter 7

"I will tell you, but not now, you look terrible, go take a shower and come take a nap with me." He gave me a stern look but I reply with an innocent one of my own as I prepare for the killer final move. Reagan didn't move a muscle at my look and I knew it was now or never. I took a deep breath before I pulled the puppy dog look on him, making sure my eyes were wide and my lips were in the most irresistible pout I could master. He quickly gave up his resolve with a sigh as a sign of that.

"Fine, but only if you will join me in there," he said with a smirk as he wiggled his thick eyebrows at me with a suggestive look on his face. I burst out in quiet fits of laughter as I pushed him from my sited position to the bathroom. He did as I had told him and finally, was fast asleep next to me. He looked like he needed it very much and that just goes to show how much he needed this nap. Not long after I was out too.

About an hour into the nap, I felt the presence of someone in the room. I fought hard to get the sleep out of my eyes only to find out it was Rain in the room.

"How nice of you to rid me of my sleep," I sarcastically commented.

"Sorry, it's just that today is the full moon and we will have to prepare for the last two trails." A long sigh left my lips but even that was not able to fully display my anger.

I forced myself out of bed but due to the long time I spent bedridden, I, again, lost my balance and held on to the headrest. Rain noticed my struggle and aided me until we reached her and Leonel's bedroom.

"Leone left, he will be getting ready in Baran's room, so we are free to use this one."

"How long do we have till the ceremony?"

"About three hours."

THREE HOURS LATER

These have been the three longest hours of my life dedicated to poking and drawing on my face but the end result was worth the wait. My makeup was spot-on perfect, I was wearing a beautiful lavender off-shoulder dress that reached mid-thigh and my naturally black hair was done in a beautiful wavy hairdo that made a lovely comparison with the lavender dress.

Rain had a similar dress on but hers was in a dark green colour with her platinum blond curly wavy hair that made her pop out. Not to mention how naturally beautiful she is. Once outside we meet up with a worried Reagan and a shitless Leone who were impatiently waiting for their mates.

The hour had finally come and we had gathered out in an opening in the woods. Luna stood before us, officially starting the trail of the full moon and spoke of how it was an honour to have reached this far on our part. After, she took a black ink of some kind and explained how it was made by the oracles specifically for the acceptance ceremony.

She took a paintbrush of some kind and wrote in a strange language on the exposed chest area on all three of us. what was more surprising was that I could read the strange language, it read 'Anda's Mark'. Anda was the name of the moon goddess, the mother of werewolves.

When she had written the same thing on all three of us she stepped aside leaving us right in front of the Alpha. The moon was already up and the moon's light was upon the mark on my chest. Alpha's eyes began to glow a fierce red colour.

"Malika and Leonel, they have slaughtered hundreds of wolves, they have the blood of many on their hands but dispute this they have no evil intentions even if their way of doing things is wrong, Rhiannon, she has a pure soul that wants nothing more than peace but that very aim will be her downfall." Alpha Ezra addressed the pack, he had just revealed our greatest sins and intentions to the pack. "with that knowledge, will you, members of Silphium pack, take these three under your wing, will you accept to protect them, care for them and treat them as one of your own?"

There was a long pause of silence as the pack thought of it. The silence dragged on to an unrealistic period such that we began to think that the pack had rejected us. But suddenly the marks on our chests started glowing and that freaked me out a bit. Reagan must have noticed it and chuckled a bit earning a glare from Alpha Ezra before he regained his poker face.

"The glowing marks show the acceptance of the pack but don't be fooled, not everyone has accepted you," Ezra said.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Rain voiced out the question we were all thinking of.

"The acceptance is based on majority meaning there are some out there who still believe you don't belong here," the plain truth was handed to us straight, "nevertheless, welcome to Silphium pack."

With that we were excused and returned to the packhouse for the celebrations that followed. Reagan caught up to us as we walked down the narrow road that leads back to the packhouse. I nodded to Rain and Leone to go on ahead without me.

"Hey," he said to me in the pack link that was created immediately after the pack had accepted us.

"Hey," I responded. Then silence followed, it wasn't an awkward kind of silence. Before long we reached the backpack house and celebrated with food and drinks.

"And our welcome gift for our new members," with that we witnessed the best display of fireworks I had ever seen as many pack member came to say their welcome to me and the others. As the members came one by one, I felt a warm hand snake around my waist earning looks from them and others around us. I forced my eyes from the beautiful firework scene in front of me to stare into the lightest shade of grey I have ever seen I my life. I that moment I was sure of one thing and one thing only.

DAYS LATER....

Days have passed now and I haven't seen Reagan since that moment after the acceptance trials. I try to act as though everything is fine but everyone seems to notice my bad mood. I was sitting in my room because everyone is avoiding me like the plague because of that.

The door opened and an all too familiar scent filled my nose. I jumped out of the coach and into the arms of the person who put me in this bad mood to begin with. He caught me with no hesitation at all and that was the sign for me to place my lips on his. Tingles erupted, starting from my lips to other parts of my body. Soon the kiss turned into a full make-out session. That is until the door was thrown open.

"Oh shit!" Leone exclaimed. Never in my life have I ever wanted to kill someone so bad. We pulled apart as Reagan growled at him, "sorry I was here to tell you that he had returned but I see you got that covered." and he left us alone. As the door closed a laugh left my lips and soon Reagan joined me too.

"Where did you go? you left me during the fireworks display after your dad called for you," I whinnied still holding on to his torso.

"Did you miss me?"

"Yes, very much but where did you go?" I tried to divert from the topic so he will forget about the fact that I just admitted to missing him.

"I visited the Marcel pack, their Alpha just lost his mind and was about to wage war on one of our protectorate packs, am sorry but I had to leave."

"Marcel pack? why does it sound familiar?" I voice out my thoughts that were supposed to stay in my head.

"It is under the Donovan pack."

Memories came crashing down on me like one of Leone's wake up methods.

...FLASHBACK...

"Malika we have to go, they are still coming," Lionel said gripping my hand trying to pull me away from the horrific sight in front of me.

"No!" I shout back, "we can leave her here, she will die."

"Malika, she is already dead!" Lionel shouted at me.

"N-no, she can't, stop lying to me!" I tried so hard to shut my eyes, maybe then I could wake up from this nightmare.

Lionel just stared at me, deep down I know it's true, our mother, our family, and all of the pack members who tried to protect us are all dead, killed, murdered.

.....

Hello, everyone.
