Chapter 11 - Changing

Managing to keep a straight face, I entered the classroom and someone already ran to me to embrace me.

"Aww Yuqi, I haven't seen you in years," Shirin cried. This girl was so dramatic. I honestly didn't have any idea about how I ended up being close friends with a 'so extra' girl. However she was a good person, so it didn't bother me at all.

I looked at Shirin's face after we pulled off just to stop myself from widening my eyes.

"Why are you crying?" I asked in a concerned tone. She shrugged, "It's nothing."

"You even managed to shed some tears," I rolled my eyes as I started walking towards my seat. I was surrounded by idiots. Wouldn't have to deal with them in my grave, thankfully.

I could feel a two strong eyes glancing at me from my left. Who else could it be except Aron, he was still shocked. That's normal actually. If there was any other person at the place of Aron, they might have needed more time to overcome the huge shock. Well Aron still hadn't fully overcome from the shock, but he was my student, and he had to overcome— end of the story.

"What?" I asked while facing Aron, raising an eyebrow.

He blinked for a few res and gulped. He looked troubled.

"Don't stare at me like this," I mumbled enough for him to hear and minded my own business.

(I really did that, wasn't a big deal though.)

"Look there," Shirin pointed to Aron who was sitting alone at a corner. "Aron's peers didn't come today. He isn't eating anything too," she continued speaking while struggling with the food in her mouth.

Actually she was right. Aron's 'friends' were nowhere to be seen, maybe afraid of me or something. But why wasn't this guy eating anything? Or could it be that he still didn't get his salary from the part-time job he did.....no one in the school knew about this except me and the guy himself.

At one point I felt like giving my food to him. Yet I was sure he wouldn't take it. Lots of question will pop in his mind on top of that. Also he might think that just it's an act of pity.

"Oi, why are you staring at him like this?" Shirin playfully hit me and I came back to my senses, unable to answer. "You have a crush on him?" she smirked.

I immediately shook my head. "No," I answered, but nothing worked as expected from Shirin. That annoying smirk was still glued on her face.

"I'm surrounded by-" "idiots, aren't you?" completing my sentence, Shirin took another bite from her beef burger, not even trying to regust the food. I nodded my head in frustration, still thinking about Aron. He was my student after all. So it was kind of my duty to make sure if he was doing okay.

I knew that he went through a lot, maybe more than me. Yet one part of me was still hating him. How could a son not contact his own mother? Another part of me said, maybe he tried. Well he was a human too. So he had his own problems. It was so confusing.

"Yuqi you are again thinking about him?" this was the second time Shirin hit me today. "Gosh..Yuqi, aren't you falling for him?" she whispered.

"No!"

It was almost evening. I remembered telling Aron to come at my place right after his last class ends. Yet he was nowhere to be seen. I wasn't that magnanimous of a person to forgive him for wasting a few hours of my life.

(That time I didn't realize that I was having some small changes in my personality. I became less quite and a bit bold.)

"Enough!" I exclaimed in annoyance while standing up from the chair. I needed to go find the guy myself. I was really disparate to die that it didn't came to my realization that I was being someone selfish, someone who was only concerned bout herself.

I walked towards the car and was about to open the door- "Miss Yuqi!"

There was Chen Huan, now standing beside me. He was breathing heavily, his face turned red because of the shortage of breath.

"You okay Mr. Chen?" I asked just to make sure he wasn't dealing with any health issues. If something like that happens, then more of my time will go in veins.

"I'm okay Miss Yuqi." I heaved a sigh of relief at his answer. "Let me drive you to Aron's place. You looked so furious that time."

"Did I?" mumbling to myself, I got in the passengers seat hinting Chen to drive.

"She is changing," Chen Huan whispered to himself, not having the idea that I heard him. I was changing.....that was a lie....or maybe true?!
