Anna started to laugh humorlessly. "You want to come with me?" Anna asked him. Sheer spite flashed in her eyes as she glanced over at Victor.
Ladislas froze beside her, his eyes not straying from her. Anna rarely threatened mortals. She mostly ignored them and let them do whatever they wanted for the most part. Her hatred was directed only at people who had done her wrong, and Victor had definitely been a pest that plagued her for a very long time.
Victor seemed to understand that Anna wasn't speaking kindly about the place she would take him.
"Your home?" he asked slowly, testing the words and watching her expression.
A menacing smile bloomed on Anna's face. "Mm. It's rather warm and painful there. I think you would fit right in with the fellow souls. What do you think?" She passed her phone to Ladislas and extended her hand to Victor to take.
"I don't understand." Victor frowned.
