"Who said she is not my bride?" Ladislas countered.
Kuzzaz raised a brow. "Are you sure about that title?" he asked.
"Wait. I didn't attend a ceremony for a demon taking a new wife. What is this?" the other demon said as if adding to Kuzzaz's perplexing question.
"You must have spoken to too many human souls and have forgotten that rituals were never a part of taking a bride. I have made a life-long commitment to that woman. She lives in my home and takes care of the people I call family. She shares the bed with me and has my respect and love, what more does it take to qualify as a bride?" Ladislas commented.
"It is a spoken contract between a demon and a human to spend their life together. It is not a ritual but a bond that if broken destroys both parties. We have not lost our roots, child," the other demon hissed, obviously offended by Ladislas' disdainful tone.
