"Yes, sir." She didn't call him father this time. Putting her in combat missions would keep her constantly traveling to far-off countries. Sometimes her missions would last days or weeks and she would have no way to communicate with the rest of the world. That was exactly what Burke hoped for.
In a way, he wanted Anna and Ladislas to drift apart due to differences. From her demeanor when it came to the immortal, it looked like she would rebel if Burke pressed her to cut contact. Therefore, he could only force distance between the lovers without dampening the relationship between boss and agent.
"I have already prepared a rigorous regime for my stay," Anna said calmly.
Of course, that included a grueling but fun weekend with Ladislas. She would clean the base up beforehand and stock up on materials and clear the trails so that Ladislas didn't groan about the difficulties of militant life.
