"You don't want me," he said, his voice eerily calm. He crossed his arms across his chest. His face was devoid of emotion as he stared blankly at her.
She shrugged. She was really close to the door.
"But I have never wanted something so badly."
He dropped his arms from his chest, the blank look turning into something darker, something more sinister.
"I have to get ready for my shift. I have a real job that I need to do," she told him. She didn't like the look in his eyes.
"And how do you think you will go back?" he taunted. "I won't let you get away. Do you understand?" he asked.
She squinted. "I am okay if you give me a day off. But I am not going to waste my evening being your maid. I need to make money to live a decent life."
"Is that what you want? Money? I can give you all the money in the world. Why don't you give it a try?" he asked.
