"Can you take care of this?" he asked his bodyguard quietly.
"I got this, Boss," the other replied, pulling his cell phone out of his pocket, dialing a number, and speaking quietly for a moment before returning the phone to his pocket. He nodded at Victor.
"Help is on the way."
"Good. Search these guys. Take anything they have on them and put it in my safe at my apartment," he instructed. The bodyguard nodded, grabbing the arms of the man Anna had killed and dragged him down the alley. Victor pulled her by his side, wrapping one arm around her.
As they walked away, she watched over one shoulder as the bodyguard popped the trunk of the still idle car and hoisted the dead body into the trunk.
This had made things so much easier for her. She didn't even need to clean up. Had she miscalculated the time? Victor shouldn't have been coming to her aid. How did he… She looked at the man critically.
