"Yes, a shame. You two might have gotten alone better than you get along with me." He imagined it for a second before discarding the idea. He didn't need to feel jealousy over his Anna getting along with his servant of many decades. That would naturally happen when Anna was done with her job and beside him.
"I doubt that. How old is she?" she asked.
"Old enough that she will bite you if you ask." And then he remembered. "Oh, you have seen her before, remember? In the Dean's room. She was the tiger that killed him!" he said. The thought made him happy.
"Oh… I am not sure I would get along with her. I don't have those urges," she commented. She didn't deflate.
It wasn't until the evening when the server came out to take inventory once again that their conversation stopped. He looked at her for a long second and then to the steps.
"I think you should be upstairs," the guy said.
Anna stared at him blankly.
