"When you say it like that, it does make logical sense. But it is also so boring," he groaned. "I was so excited that I planned on following your footsteps and strolling inside the women's restroom too."
She gasped and then coughed. "I am so glad you didn't. You would have been in jail."
"It didn't sound like a bad deal then. I would meet some hard criminals and you know… have some fun like the old times. Cutting off heads and torture devices were the time to be alive in history."
Anna became silent. With her identity, she would be one of the first people to go on the chopping block. "The torture side of things isn't much different now. You just don't run in the circle."
Ladislas became silent at that comment. 'Was she tortured?' he had to wonder. The thought send a jolt of fear through her. The idea wasn't exciting any longer. It was funny how everything he liked suddenly became horrifying at the thought of her suffering because of them.
