Chapter 288 - A Present

Light shone down on the pair, ashes falling from the sky. The two of them had killed Crystet. However, what did it cost? Friendship? A companion? Their sanity? Their bonds? It was all of the above. After all, Crystet was more than just a random passer-by. He had been with Aaron for such a long time, friends and enemies. Now, that bond was only to be lost at the hands of a realisation from the past? How saddening.

Aaron fell backwards, his body falling to the arena. He was tired. However, he was not exhausted enough to fall asleep. After all, doing something like that was sure to take some energy from a person. Soul was fine, however, and he was curious why. Both had used the same amount of power, and they shared the same amount of mana and Godly Energy, which was infinite. How was Aaron tired and he wasn't?

Well, it came down to one thing. Aaron used more of his actual stamina than his mana, meaning that he had tired himself out physically. Soul descended to the arena's floor, his hands splayed out wide as he looked down at Aaron, everyone else in the stadium staring at the pair. "Hey, Aaron. Are you good?" Soul asked in honest curiosity, wondering how Aaron could convert his stamina into the attack. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a slight bit tired. I think you already figured out why." Aaron responded, sitting up. "Yeah, I can kind of tell. You're tired as all hell, I bet. Although, why did you use your stamina instead of your mana? After all, your mana would have been just as useful." Soul replied, posing another question of his own. "Well, it feels much more satisfying than just using my mana. It helps me focus on the attack more, you know?" Aaron explained, standing up. He used Tsuyukagiri as a tool to assist him in standing up, his body slightly shaky.

"Be honest with me. Are you alright? You have a habit of doing stupid things, and that is going to kill you eventually." Soul informed Aaron, staring him directly in the eyes. "Are you about to die? A simple yes or no answer will do for me." Soul told Aaron, causing him to sigh.

"Fine. I personally think it may be time to leave this planet. Think about it. We've caused so much damage to the people here, and they almost had their world destroyed, like Crystet's, due to a raging Lightsworn Destroyer. With our luck, it may be best to head back to Takamagahara, let things die down while we are there, and then maybe return here or go to another planet." Aaron sighed, causing Soul to stop and think about what he was saying. "Honestly, I'm not sure if even that'd save us at this point. AuthRecSys has come to claim our lives on more than one occasion, probably enlisted Ronin to help him out, and was also probably the one who bestowed Crystet with that Ultimate Lightsworn Destruction ability. After all, we've seen that bastard alter some outcomes before." Soul responded. He was whispering directly into Aaron's ear so that nobody else could hear about what he was saying. "I mean, that's true, but we'd have to leave everyone here behind," Aaron responded. "Think about it. If we leave now, they'll be spared. Plus, if and when Ezrahel and Amana die, they can find us up in Takamagahara." Soul replied, causing Aaron to breathe a sigh of acceptance. Soul and Aaron walked over to the crowds, signalling everyone to come forward. Everyone was there. Amana, Ezrahel, Sciat, Oki, Clair, Jude, the three Oliserians, and Erald, the human King.

"Hey, guys. Our time here is up. We've well overspent our time here. It was fun while we were here, but it's now too dangerous for us to be. They might destroy this planet, so we have to go to protect you." Aaron explained, looking down towards Jude, Oki and Clair. "You guys. You still have much of your time left to live, so I shall leave you with a parting gift." Soul continued, his hand outstretched. His fist became covered in a black portal, disappearing as quickly as it appeared. He opened up his hand, three small orbs of light in his palm. "These are three copies of my Purified Demonoid Soul. I collected it from one of my fights. I also learned how to clone it. When you guys are ready to take the risk and join me up in Takamagahara, or as you may call it, Heaven, just simply absorb it by closing your palm on it, and you'll be like me, Sciat, Aaron, Ezrahel and Amana. Boundless. We'll be ready for you to accompany us on our journey." Soul told the trio, each of them taking one from his hand. Almost immediately, all three of them absorbed the white ball, shocking both Soul and Aaron. "Wow. I didn't think you guys would do it. Well, it was nice to be around you, but this really is goodbye. Or, well, see you later." Aaron admitted before looking towards Soul and Sciat. "I'm guessing that you want to come with us, Sciat? You're stuck with me, Soul, so you don't have a choice." Aaron guessed as Soul chuckled slightly.

"Of course, I'm staying with you. After all, you're the one that summoned me in the first place. I've grown somewhat fond of you." Sciat joked before taking place by their side. "Ezrahel? Amana? Either of you two joining up with us yet?" Soul asked. "I think I'll stay behind to keep an eye on the three children. After all, we can't have three Boundless Children going around without someone to make sure they don't cause too much trouble for the people here." Ezrahel responded, looking over towards Jude, Oki and Clair. "I'll stay behind for the same reasons, although I also feel like I'm not as proficient as I want to be with my abilities. We'll all come to find you together. How about that?" Amana responded, proposing an idea. "Sure, I'm fine with that. Although, Ezrahel. Feel free to start up the competition I had planned with Erald." Aaron told him, reminding Erald about the competition. "Well, I guess it can't be helped. I promised to set up a competition, and that is what I will do." Erald sighed, looking at Aaron with somewhat pleased eyes. "Yes, you can have my Kingdom as your own. However, it must not be discriminatory. If I get word up above that you're discriminating against races, I will personally kick your ass. Also, Ezrahel. There's one little village where I found Clair. She can tell you where it is. Go over there, and see if you can find anyone being injured purposefully. If you do, you have full permission, in my name, to blow that village up." Aaron told the pair before turning away from them all. "Now, this is where we make our grand goodbye! It was nice being there to see you all!" Sciat and Aaron said at the same time, Soul turning his head. "You two are perfectly in sync, and it scares me."

The group let out a chuckle before saying one final word.

"Goodbye!" The trio simultaneously yelled before rising into the air, almost as if they were being carried away by invisible angels. The people in the stadium of light looked up at them in awe as the light arena broke away, everyone falling to the ground slowly. They would all fall at a slow pace until they reached the earth. It was so that they wouldn't die.

And as soon as they were far enough away, they disappeared from the vision of the world.
