Chapter 264 - Blood Warden Part 1

Sol turned his attention to the monster that was rampaging in this illusion. "That thing over there is called a Blood Warden if you didn't know what they looked like. That is the thing that possessed your body out in the physical world. If you want to beat it out there, you need to assist me in defeating it here. After all, if you wish to help your citizens, that'll be one of many trials for you to face to protect them." Soul explained with his clawed hands at his sides. He got into a start-up position and prepared to run towards the Blood Warden. "How would I help, though? I don't know any ways to kill that monster."

"Just beat the living hell out of it. That's the trick, you see. You just need to have a little bit of help. I'll grant you some of my power, although you'll be the one able to control it." Soul informed Amana, a black ball of Corruption appearing in his hand. "This is a piece of me. It's what I'm made of and what I secrete as a fluid of destruction. I'll be taking it back after we're done both here and in the real world." Soul informed her, lightly pushing the ball of Corruption towards her. The sphere of Corruption touched her chest, going straight through to the centre of her body. She spasmed slightly, falling to the ground. However, as she stood up, shaking slightly, Soul realised that her right eye had taken on the Corruption. Unlike his left eye, which was the usual way he showed himself.

"Good job. Now, I'm just informing you of this. I'm not inside your mind. This is just an extensive illusion, where both of our original bodies are paralysed. Think of it as a shared dream. Every second here is a second out in the real world. Now, we're gonna have to get this done quick. No time for tutorials here. The people you protect are worried about you." Soul told Amana before rushing towards the Blood Warden, drawing Tsuyukagiri from his side. As he touched the blade, it became Corrupted, and Soul tried to channel Godly Energy into it. He didn't know if he could, but he had to try.

As he ran, Tsuyukagiri shone with a deviously purple light, his right hand turning into that of a blackened skeleton. "So, Monstrosity has come out to play, huh? Come on, I know what you're here for. Give me some help!" He yelled, the world around him seeming to turn grey. He smiled, knowing that he, or the Blood Warden, was about to be assaulted by an illusion. Soul continued to run forward, holding Tsuyukagiri in both hands. He reached the Blood Warden, his sword glowing even more purple the closer he got. He swung it, and the Blood Warden jumped out of the way, almost as if it had been expecting Soul to attack it. It evaded him as if Soul had been moving at snail-like speeds and then made its attack. Its bloodied hands rushed towards Soul, the congealed blood that its body was made up of seemed to swirl around its body as it moved. It was disturbing, to say the least.

Soul shivered at the sight of it, but only for a brief moment, as the Blood Warden was upon him, scratching at him as if it was a wild animal. In all reasoning, it WAS A wild animal. Soul watched as Amana quickly ran in to help him, the Blood Warden targeting her instead. Soul smiled and picked up the monster using Boundless Telekinesis, realising that he could now do what he wanted with this creature. "Amana. I'm pretty sure you're angry at this monster, so I'll give you the opportunity. Take out your anger on it. I'm stopping it from moving, so you can punch and kick at it all you want." Soul told Aman, placing the Blood Warden in front of her. It was obviously very uncomfortable, and it tried to escape, but it couldn't move. Amana looked at the monster with fire in her eyes, and she threw a punch.

However, just as the punch was about to land, she stopped. She looked at her own hand and realised that black Corruption had spread to it. "Good. You aren't consumed by anger. That's one of the best outcomes I had hoped for." Soul said to himself, lifting the Blood Warden into the air, floating up with it. "You are not gonna enjoy this, Blood Warden. You may be Amana, but something tells me that you just possessed her body. Come on, show me what you got. Try and take over MY body!" Soul commanded the Blood Warden, arms outstretched, as he used Boundless Telekinesis to push the Blood Warden into his chest.

The Blood Warden became a liquid and jumped straight into his stomach, somehow ignoring his Boundless Telekinesis. Soul just accepted it, waiting for it to see what he had in store for it.

Inside Soul's body, the Blood Warden warily travelled along with an empty void with nothing inside of it. No human host, no body to take over, and no conquerable soul. However, that was until a body was seen in the distance, pacing up and down the void. It was almost as if it was expecting someone or even something.

As soon as Soul saw the Blood Warden inside of his mind, he smiled, his body turning into a vantablack tar, with an aura that would have scared even the most hardened of warriors. The Blood Warden began running away, trying to escape his body. However, Soul had locked all of the entrances and exits. It was just him and the Blood Warden, and there was no way that the Blood Warden could escape. "If you're so powerful, why are you running away from me, huh?" Soul asked as the black tar from his hands covered the Blood Warden. The Blood Warden let out a screech of pain as it was dragged under the black tar. Soul knew that this wasn't the end, but he wanted to make sure that the Blood Warden knew what pain was.
