Chapter 265 - Blood Warden Part 2

Soul's mind shot out to the real world, his eyes opening up to him lying on the ground. He was unsure why that had happened, but it didn't matter too much. Soul stood up, using his sword as a crutch. He looked at his hands, realising that they were both back to normal with no sign that the monstrosity had ever given him help. Soul took in a deep breath before letting out a long exhale. He was prepared for a proper fight out here than the one he had while making the illusion for Amana. After all...this one was real, with all of its abilities and other tricks. Soul smiled, waiting for the monster standing before him to stand up. The creature in Amana North's body spasmed, her body lifting up as if it was controlled by puppet strings. Soul prepared for what was to come by ensuring that his Corruption covered his body.

As Amana's body floated into the air, lifeless, blood-red essence flowed from her body, almost as if it was being pulled out by an other-worldly force. After around ten seconds, the string of blood was cut off, dropping Amana to the floor. Soul looked at the sphere with an intense gaze, watching as it began to become congealed and took the shape of the Blood Warden.

"You...monster...whatever you are...what business do you have with my host?" The Blood Warden hissed at Aaron, who got into a fighting stance with Tsuyukagiri unsheathed. "I came to free her from your grasp. You're a creation of her power, so if I have to free her from that, I'll do so. You will become a part of ME instead, and I'll put you to use." Soul responded, rushing towards the Blood Warden with a smile on his face. He was going to have fun with this monster.

Soul slashed his sword at the Blood Warden, striking it in the chest multiple times. An almost unrealistic amount of blood shot from the wound. However, despite this obstruction to his sight, Soul didn't stop attacking. Tsuyukagiri swept from side to side, slicing up the Blood Warden as if it was a fresh dinner served on a plate at a fancy restaurant. It looked like the Blood Warden had been cut by a laser.

However, the Blood Warden regenerated itself as soon as Soul stopped, an imaginary smile lining the cruel monster's face. "Foolishness. I am a Blood Warden recognised by gods. You can't defeat me!" The Blood Warden screeched, trying to attack Soul using its clawed hands. However, Soul evaded his formless blows swiftly and gracefully, almost like Soul was dancing around the Blood Warden. It was something to witness.

Amid this fruitless exchange of blows, Amana stood up, wobbling back and forth slightly. She lifted up her hand, realising that it was still covered by the black Corruption that Soul had given to her. She looked over towards the Blood Warden, who was letting out screeches of anger as he tried to land a hit on Soul. Amana pointed her finger at the Blood Warden and tried to imagine the Corruption forming into a magical bullet.

As a black sphere appeared at her fingers, Soul looked over to her, a smile on his face. She had finally learned how to make something using Corruption. Now, time to help her out. Soul jumped over the Blood Warden, confusing it before landing a solid kick on its chest as it spun around, sending him flying towards the other end of the bunker they were in. It crashed against the wall, parts of it falling down.

"Now! Shoot your Corrupted bullet!" Soul yelled at Amana, who complied with his orders. The bullet fired away, becoming invisible for just a second. Not even Soul could see where it was. However, they knew it had hit as the Blood Warden let out an absolutely horrendous screech, rattling their eardrums. Blood flowed from the Blood Warden's forehead, and it had no intention of stopping. The sheer volume of blood leaking from that would have been enough to overfill a vampire.

"Nice job! Now, all we have to do is decide what we want to do with it. After all, it may have some value." Soul told Amana, his hands outstretched as he looked towards the Blood Warden again. "So, what do you think we should do with it? I plan to absorb this thing in the end, so what do you think would be a way to put this Blood Warden in its place?" Aaron pondered, his eyes filled with a look reminiscent of his old personality. He wouldn't have killed this thing if it hadn't tried to attack him or even another person. After all, Soul could have just stopped that. However, the possession of another person is something he didn't plan to overlook. "Well, I'm kind of curious to see what you mean by 'absorb it', so why don't you just do that? I want to see what makes you different from the others." Amana told him as Soul turned his head to her, a shocked look on his face. "Is my face not enough for that?"

Soul turned back to face the Blood Warden as Amana chuckled slightly, his left hand changing from a Corrupted limb to that of a God Eater. "Well then. I guess we should get onto today's main event!" Soul announced with a smile. The Blood Warden emitted an aura of fear stronger than it passively did, causing Amana to slightly throw up in her mouth. "No...no...wait! I can be of service to you! I know how you could become powerful! You would wield abilities greater than your wildest dreams could comprehend!" The Blood Warden tried to negotiate with Soul, who just smiled in his face.

"Sorry. I'm already living in my fantasy. I wield abilities far greater than YOUR dreams could comprehend!" Soul announced before using God Eater to cover the Blood Warden in the all-consuming tar. An unholy screech erupted through the bunker, even heard outside by the Beastpeople. This worried them, but they knew that Aaron was fine. After all, if he wasn't, the whole place was doomed.

After around thirty seconds of cursing and screaming from the Blood Warden, the sound of blood being stamped on stopped as Soul looked at his body.

{New Curse Unlocked}

{Curse of the Bloodied Warrior}

{"The faint miasma of a beaten and bruised warrior lurks inside of your mind."}

{New Skill Unlocked}

{Bloodied Warrior}

{Warden's Bloody Massacre}

"Oh. I suppose that curse isn't a good thing, is it?" Soul asked himself, a curious look on his face. "Well, I guess we'll see what that does later."
