Chapter 246 - Re-awakening

Blinding lights. Aaron's body woke up in a well-lit room. It was his room in the house that Aaron had placed in the space of a castle. 'So, this is what it's like to be in Aaron's body?" The person inhabiting Aaron asked himself, looking around the room. It was decently furnished, with lights powered by magical energy. "Did Aaron do this?" It continued to ask itself as it got out of the bed. Yes, this was Soul controlling Aaron's body. However, this was Soul in control of Aaron's original body. Soul looked down at his hand, looking at their fleshy textures with confusion. "So this is what he made his body from? It's incredibly fragile, so why would he handicap himself?" Soul continued questioning as Sciat walked into the room. He looked at Aaron's body in surprise, not expecting him to be awake, even less standing up.

"Ah, you're awake, Aaron? I honestly didn't expect you to be up so quickly. You hadn't moved ever since the incident with the Oliseras, so we were worried." Sciat admitted, causing Aaron's body to let out a sigh. "I'm sorry to disappoint you, Sciat, but I'm not Aaron. You're talking to Soul." Soul admitted, covering his left eye in his signature corrupted flesh. "Aaron left me in charge of his body for a while." Soul explained, sitting back down on the bed, Aaron's body impacting against the mattress.

"He told me that I need to learn about how much gravity lies within human life. How much gravity it holds. I do realise how much a life is worth. I just don't care." Soul further explained as Sciat realised the issue and why he was in control instead of Aaron. "Then Aaron didn't send you out here to learn how much a human life costs. He sent you out here to learn how to care about lives. After all, brute force cannot be used all of the time." Sciat informed Soul, who looked at him in semi-disbelief. "I already know that. It's just that I've never done anything else. My first appearance was of me influencing Aaron to the point where he destroyed an entire planet. Ever since then, I've been the antagonist inside his head." Soul responded, holding his head in his hands. "I've never been given such responsibility before. I'm told to continue his task, and I have no idea how to actually act decently."

Sciat was left without words. He really didn't know what to do. He had left this...other person without a way to act. It was almost like Aaron had been afraid of him. "Tell me something, Soul. Was Aaron afraid of you?" Sciat asked, trying to piece everything together. "Yeah, I think so. He was, and is, afraid of his past. Since I am the cause of fear from his past, he projected all of his fears onto me, giving me the form I have now. He sometimes wasn't afraid, but that was a rare occurrence." Soul responded, causing Sciat to realise what was going on. Aaron hadn't been afraid of Soul himself, but what Soul had, and could have, done. "Well, you're in control of Aaron, and we both know that there's no way to change Aaron's mind when he gets started on something," Sciat told Soul, extending his hand. "Come on. We have to explain this situation to Crystet and the others. I have no personal grudges against you, but I know Crystet does."

Soul took Sciat's hand, using it to stand up from the bed. "Alright. However, I won't walk in first. The last time I was in control of Aaron's body, I was attacked by that strange light he created. If you wouldn't mind introducing me as Soul first, I'd appreciate it." Soul responded as he felt his eye. He pushed his finger into his eye, realising that there wasn't really any eye there in the first place. He could see out of it, and move the "iris" around, but there was no physical matter there besides the corrupted flesh. "It'll be hard to explain why I'm in control of this body, but I'll spend as long as I need to," Soul said to himself as the pair walked out of the room, going downstairs. Aaron's room was on the second floor of the two-story house.

Sciat and Soul walked into the hallway as Soul stopped walking. Sciat walked into the room, where Crystet, Jude and the three Oliseras from the previous...incident...were waiting. "Alright, so Aaron has woken up. However, before you speed to him, you need to know something. Aaron had a talk with the things inside of his head, or his heart, whichever you want to imagine, and now one of them control his body. It's so that he can learn how to care about humans and Inhuman lives more. He admitted that he realises how much they matter, but he currently doesn't understand how to care about them. Crystet, you know this one quite well. Soul, walk out here." Sciat explained to everyone as Soul, inhabiting Aaron's body, walked out, looking to all like the Aaron they knew.

Crystet stood up, prepared to attack Soul as he sat down in a chair across from them. Soul looked up, appearing normal, except for his eye, covered in the corrupted flesh that gave Crystet some bad memories. Crystet's hand glowed with a bright light as he activated his ultimate ability. "Crystet! Calm yourself!" Sciat yelled at Crystet, shocking him. "He's the reason why my old planet was destroyed! He's the reason why my friends died!" Crystet yelled back as Sciat walked up towards Crystet with a menacing look on his face. "You don't think I remember? However, that was Soul AND Aaron. Aaron took things to the extreme, and even though Soul openly took the blame, he only influenced Aaron. Don't put all the blame on Soul. He's trying to become a decent person now, can't you see? If this was the old Soul and Aaron, you'd be dead where you stand, no?" Sciat told Crystet, causing Crystet to shrink away slightly, intimidated by the 1% of Boundlessness that was Sciat.

"Now, we need to continue Aaron's quest, and Soul is going to help us," Sciat explained, and this just left one thing going through Jude and the Oliserian's heads.

'What the fuck is going on?'
