Chapter 105 - In the Mind of Aaron

The statue was shocked at what Aaron said. Eat him? How would that work? "𝙉𝙤𝙬, 𝙄'𝙢 𝙨𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙮 𝙞𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙥𝙞𝙙, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙨𝙠. 𝙃𝙊𝙒 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙚? 𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙙 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙?" They asked with a confused look in his eyes. Aaron sighed and decided to explain it to him. "Listen. I have this ability called God-Eater, and it allows me to fuse any part of a being I consume with myself. I haven't used it yet, but I'm willing to bet it would allow me to keep your conscious mind in my own, so you can figure out anything you want." Aaron explained, pointing to his skull with his skeletal hand.

"𝙐𝙝, 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙢𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙮 𝙧𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙. 𝙔𝙤𝙪'𝙧𝙚 𝙖 𝙨𝙠𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙤𝙣, 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧?" The statue pointed out, directing his finger to Aaron skull. "I mean my consciousness. You don't need a brain to survive, just a mind that can think. By keeping you in my mind, you'll stay alive while gaining knowledge, and I can use your body parts as my own so that I can become a force to be reckoned with." Aaron reasoned, temporarily turning both arms into a dark mess. It was black goop, et it was still attached to his hand. Creepy.

"𝙄 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙨𝙖𝙮, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙨𝙠 𝙖 𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. 𝙒𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙄 𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙮 𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙨𝙤𝙧𝙗𝙚𝙙 𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙡𝙚𝙙𝙜𝙚?" The statue questioned, making sure that his safety wasn't in jeopardy. "Honestly, I don't know, but I'd be willing to bet that you'd be able to leave once I give you permission," Aaron responded, unsure of how the ability works, except for the parts he explained. "As it wouldn't be very convenient for either of us if we couldn't."

"𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣'𝙩 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙢𝙮 𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬, 𝙖𝙨 𝙞𝙩'𝙙 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚. 𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝙄 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙙𝙤 𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙞𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙, 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙪𝙥 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙗𝙞𝙩, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙞𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣. 𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙣'𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙙𝙤 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙩, 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙖𝙬𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙄 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙣'𝙩 𝙗𝙚 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙡𝙖𝙬." The statue realised, as it would finally be able to go outside again. "𝙄'𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚, 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙣'𝙩 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚. 𝙄𝙩'𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙚𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚."

"That's the spirit! Now, are you ready to be eaten by my skill, God-Eater?" Aaron asked as he held his arms in the air, the formless black goop lying on the floor. It had no purpose yet. "𝙔𝙚𝙨, 𝙄 𝙖𝙢. 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙚𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣!" The statue yelled as he prepared himself for what was to follow. Aaron laughed and began running towards the giant statue, forcing the black goop to follow him. Aaron jumped an insane height, going equal to its eyes. They, for a second, literally saw eye-to-eye before the black gloop from Aaron's hands began to spread all over the face of the statue. All it could see was darkness as the goop started to cover its entire body like a disease. It spread all along its chest, causing it to tense up.

"𝘼𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙣, 𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙩 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙙? The statue asked with discomfort in its voice. "Honestly, this is my first time using it, so I'm going to assume that it's meant to be cold," Aaron admitted as he watched the black goop spread all over its body. It was somewhat uncomfortable for Aaron, as it reminded him of the corruption which spread over him. Once the final part of the statue was covered in the black goop, it began to shrink. Almost as if it was getting crushed into pieces. Aaron watched as the goop turned into the shape of a sphere and continued shrinking until, after around thirty seconds, it was the size of a marble. Aaron watched as the ball of goop slowly floated towards his chest, passing through his armour, almost like he wasn't wearing any at all. The ball of goop hit him in the chest, almost like a baseball was thrown at him. He didn't understand why so much force came from a slow-moving ball, but the goop dissipated into his bones, leaving nothing remaining.

{You have used [God-Eater] on [Higher Stone Guardian: Monument] and absorbed them!}

{Request for [Mind-Housing] incoming}

{Accept} {Decline}

For a second, Aaron thought about declining the request, but that would have gone against their agreement, and he didn't want to be one who went against his own promises.

{Chosen Option: Accept}

{Housing consciousness and subconsciousness of [Monument]

{Completed}

'Yes, I can, Monument. Your voice isn't nearly as loud as it was before!' Aaron communicated with Monument.

'So, how's it like, being inside my mind?' Aaron asked, curious about how it looked from his perspective.

[Hello there, Monument.]

[I'm just coming to let you know that Monument has around the same stats as Algenon, Aaron. Remove half of Algenon's health, and add it to his defence, and you'd basically have Monument.]

'Seriously? You're that strong? I really wouldn't want to go up against you yet, as if you're looking at my stats, you can probably see my true stats as well, right?'

[In all honesty, it probably isn't me who's at fault, it's just that Aaron has never found someone who can equal his full strength. I would be willing to bet his stats will come to light when he fights someone who's an equal match for him.]

'You know, that's an interesting idea. I wonder if any of the other gods could take me on?'
