Chapter 84 - Chilly

Sciat nodded in response to Aaron's request, and started his walk towards the gate. The gate led to the drawbridge, and this is where he was told to stand. He wanted to see the look on their faces once they were told that Aaron was the self-proclaimed New King. It would be interesting to see what would be thrown at him in an attempt to reach Aaron, the person who summoned him.

Crystet and the adventurers who were joining him on the quest had started their journey, ready to travel to the castle, and take down whatever fiend was in it. People were still uneasy around Crystet, but they knew that he was on their side, and they didn't want to anger him, like Blast did, who reluctantly joined them on their adventure. She was mad about how she had been treated by this monster, and had neglected to even learn his name. Well, nobody knew his name for the moment, so she wasn't the only one who didn't know.

Crystet and some of the adventurers began exchanging jokes, as they began to realise that he wasn't actually a bad person, just misunderstood. Crystet learned that he could actually talk with people like normal while he were like this. It was a nice feeling. It was one he wanted to hold onto for as long as possible, but he knew it couldn't last. It was like his family.

It was going to be gone in an instant, if he was right about the two incidents being the same. That wasn't something he could stand for. He wanted to preserve anything he had left, and especially the stuff he had just gotten. A shaky acquaintance was better than nothing at all.

He saw the castle in the distance, but only the tip of the castles towers. He couldn't help but feel slightly uneasy at this situation, and as he walked closer, he could see that something was wrong. The castle walls were not white, as they used to be, but were black, with splashes of pink. Just like...the skin...of that...monster. "Shit!" Crystet cursed, as everybody just stared in shock. They didn't think he'd be cursing at a time like this.

"What's gone wrong?" The unidentified human person, or uhp for short, asked, curious as to what would make a powerful monster like him curse. "Well, it turns out my theory was right. The person who killed my entire family and half of the world is in THERE." Crystet explained, as he placed his hands on his head, trying to figure out what to do about this situation. It was a problem he couldn't solve on his own, as he didn't know how strong the monster was. Just like how Aaron didn't fully know how strong Crystet was. He could just guess by the amount of mana Crystet was subconsciously exerting, but it was a large guess.

The other adventurers int he ground immediately grew cautious, as this was the monster that killed both the King and half of the planet. It was no small matter, and they needed a strategy, but they weren't able to think of one. All they knew is that this was no joke quest. It was, quite literally, world saving. As they walked closer to the castle, they noticed a figure standing on the drawbridge, exerting an aura of power and professionalism. This was just simply because he was wearing a suit. Suits give that impression, and it is always worn by powerful entities.

They walked forward, and Sciat turned his head to them, following their movements. They found this extremely creepy, but they could do nothing about it. Once they reached the drawbridge, one of the adventurers from the back, Karen, to be exact, rushed forward in an attempt to get to the castle. She was blinded by sheer anger however, and didn't see the way Sciat was looking at her. When she had just gotten past him, he quickly turned his body, while grabbing her head. He used his hand to shove her off of the moat, and she fell into the piranha-infested water, screaming as she was devoured by the deadly fish. Blood stained the water, as everyone, including Crystet, looked away from the horrendous sight.

"I have come bearing a message from the New King," Crystet announced, shocking everyone who was listening. Everyone would be listening after this, however. "The message is: 'They shall only face the New King if they can defeat the Bodyguard'. Now, I am the Bodyguard, so it's time to see if you have the guts to get past me."

This sent a shock through the adventurers, as they realised what he meant. They had to fight, and successfully defeat, this monstrous being infront of them. There was a most beneath them but it was infested with flesh-devouring piranhas, so that was a no-go.

Crystet walked forwards, surprising everyone, including Sciat, as he didn't even notice Crystet. He was too busy focusing on the humans. "So, a monster teaming up with humans, eh? This isn't how it's supposed to work out, is it?" Sciat mockingly asked, curious as to what the answer was to that question. Crystet simply began laughing, confusing Sciat, as he hadn't even said anything funny.

"Oh, you think THIS is bad? Do you know what it feels like to lose a lost one, monster? I know that we are talking about two different things, but let me tell you something. That FAKE 'New King' you work for is nothing but a murderer! You have chosen the wrong side in this battle, and this is the price you shall pay." Crystet yelled out, as a ring of ice spears began to form around him. Sciat could sense the hostility emanating from Crystet, and began to smile, similar to Aaron's psychotic smile.

"It's time for things to get a little...chilly." Crystet ominously said, sending a chill down everyone's backs. Except for Sciat, who just continued to smile.
