Chapter 5 - 5. Why Sunflower?

Prang...

Her fragile back leaned against the door. Her black hair is long. Her bright eyes glazed over, and one by one, tears began to fall. Her mouth could not speak, as well as her ears could not hear.

Her hands decided to cover her ears as hard as she could. Her sobs grew louder, but still silent.

"Why is this marriage still going on?!" her mother's voice began to rise. After slamming the plate, now they started talking about divorce again.

"You think I'm stupid, if we divorce then this house will be yours!" His father didn't want to lose, always bringing up Gono's treasure.

"You can bring Adeeva, you can hire her."

"Why would I deal with your illegitimate child with another man?"

"Aren't you the one who likes to spread sperm here and there!"

"If she was my biological son, she wouldn't have killed his brother!"

This gloomy atmosphere becomes scary every day for Adeeva. The girl who just turned 17 years old had to work hard for herself. Both parents have hated him since the tragic incident 3 years ago. Since then, his life has fallen apart.

She reached for the cutter on the study table, little by little the sharp cutter scratched her arm. Wounds that have not had time to dry must be scratched and injured again. Blood slowly began to flow, dripping along with her tears.

Suddenly, the door to his room was forced open. Adeeva immediately threw the cutter as far as possible. She wiped his tears as fast as she could.

"Hey, you! why are you still here? Can't you see I'm starving? Buy me some quick fried rice!" cried his father.

Adeeva didn't even dare to look at the same bright bead-like her.

"Okay, dad.." Adeeva said slowly.

"Hurry up! So a very slow child. Do you realize that you are such a hassle." sarcasm her father.

Her heart hurts. Her body was crushed. The blood that dripped was ignored by her father. Her mother just stared at him innocently. Maybe this is how God created it.

The flowers were neatly lined up on the bed, their fragrance stinging the senses. Its beauty is eye-catching. This flower shop that has been around for 20 years is never empty of buyers. Many high-ranking officials subscribe here.

Mrs. Adenia's flower shop provides a comfortable place and a fairly affordable price. That is the reason why this shop is very popular with shoppers. Mrs. Adenia is still quite young, she has just stepped on her head.

"Ma'am, why the name of the shop is Sunflow?" asked Adeeva.

Adenia chuckled. Turns out, the staff even wanted to know the reason behind the shop's name.

"It's taken from the name sunflower. Sunflower. Sunflowers always look beautiful even when they wither. Their bright color is like light among other flowers. Ma'am, your shop is also like sunflowers. Shine among other shops." said Adenia.

Adeeva was again amazed by the woman. Her mature mind and gentle heart made her wish she had an older sister like her. If Mbak Adenia was her sister, her life would not be this difficult. Surely Adeeva will not feel lonely.

It was getting late, Adeeva was staring intently at the sunflowers in front of her. It's also his favorite flower.

"Why sunflowers?" asked someone beside him.

Adeeva was surprised to see a male figure slightly bent down to look at the sunflowers that were neatly lined up there.

"You again..." Adeeva muttered which was still heard by the man.

"I hear ya!" he said.

"Adeeva Afsheen Mahesa, what does that mean?" asked the man.

"How do you know my name?" she said.

"Oh, this is your ID card that fell right in the lake. I'm Yudistira," said Yudis while giving Adeeva's ID card, and holding out her hand.

Adeeva received her ID card, but not with the man's outstretched hand. She just didn't want to get to know anyone any further. Because for him, having himself was more than enough. In addition, Adeeva is also afraid of losing again. Losing those who loved him. Like her older brother.

"Why do you like sunflowers?" asked Yudistira again.

Adeeva smirked, "because she knows where to turn,"

Adeeva looked at Yudis for a moment. By the way, what is that guy in the flower shop for?

"What are you doing here?" asked Adeeva.

"Oh yes, I want to buy yellow roses for my girlfriend," Yudis replied.

"Oh, you already have a boyfriend..." Adeeva muttered.

Bastian's private mansion was destroyed like a broken ship. The sofa cushion was no longer in place but was lying perfectly on the floor. All kinds of dirt scattered. Starting from cigarette butts, snacks, and food wrappers.

Yudistira and Zion are the true definitions of 'think at home'. When both of them are bored at home, this place will be their main target. Apart from being only occupied by Bastian, this house is also located on the outskirts of the city with a cool atmosphere and stunning natural scenery.

"You two are rich, why don't you just buy your own house? Hang out!" Bastian grumbled.

The man will be stressed if his house is destroyed. Indeed, there are household assistants who clean, but still, when it is seen it is very disgusting and not aesthetic.

"I'm not fighting with mom and dad," Zion said. Yudistira chuckled hearing that, indeed his one friend was always talking loudly. Not infrequently people get hurt when they hear it.

"Yeah, yeah, the family is happy and peaceful, I'm the one who's broken home and just shut up," Bastian grumbled again.

Silence for a moment. Yudistira is busy with his cellphone, Zion is busy with his comics and Bastian is busy play a tik tok.

"Yesterday I met Adeeva at Sunflow," said Yudistira, opening the conversation.

Bastian turned his head, Zion closed his book. Both of them were interested in the topic concerning the girl's name. For some reason, that girl always intrigued them.

"She works there." continued Yudhisthira.

Zion and Bastian were dumbfounded. They even gape until flies cling to their tonsils and choke.

"What? Does that mean she is Nia's employee?!" Bastian screamed hysterically. Indeed, Bastian's play soul has been embedded since the sperm.

"Oh, this is why she doesn't want to stay at the hotel," Zion said while nodding his head repeatedly.

"Maybe she's depressed because of financial problems?" guessed Bastian who was agreed by Yudhisthira and Zion.

"I can't bear it," Bastian said.

"Can't you have a crush?" Zion teased.

The girl's hands shook violently when she saw her father coming home with another woman. The woman with luxurious makeup like a rich man was sitting in the living room alone with her father.

If you want to have an affair, why do you have to be open in front of your child? Should his son also bring drinks to his father's mistress?

It felt like the glass in his hand wanted to shatter. Her shattered life is getting messy because of her father's actions. Feelings of loneliness, worthlessness, and guilt still haunt him. Now, coupled with a feeling of anger and resentment that is so great at his biological father.

Before she knew it, the glass had fallen and shattered on her feet. The girl's leg stabbed blood on the glass.

"Adeeva!" snapped her father.

Her father's face turned red with emotion, her hands had grabbed Adeeva and kicked her out of the house. In front of that woman, she was humiliated and kicked out of his house. What an unfair life.

Her leg was still bleeding, even the glass was still stuck there. however, what his father thought was only the prestige of having a careless and incompetent girl.

Adeeva is again walking aimlessly. Fortunately, Adeeva had time to carry some important items in her backpack. This time, there was no feeling of wanting to die in his mind. she only thought about how her mother would feel if she found out about this. Although Adeeva was hated by her mother, Adeeva never really hated her mother.

She walked through the city with a blank stare. The blood on her feet was still dripping even a little, the glass shards were still stuck there. For some reason, she didn't feel any pain. There is only a deep sense of disappointment that is difficult to heal.

Adeeva is a girl who has to be physically strong like a boy. There was no shelter for her. The father figure who should have embraced her warmly now chased her away and left Adeeva cold alone in the night.

The girl gave up, she cried profusely on the side of the road. The girl squatted down and covered her eyes with her hands. Her body shook violently, her cries sounded painful.

After a while, her crying subsided. She looked up, finding a hand outstretched to her. The hand that once reached for her when she almost lost it all.

The hand that pulled her to the surface of the lake. This time, the hand reached out again to offer help. Although his eyes stared blankly at Adeeva, she knew that Yudistira was worried about her. If not, why did the man follow her then?

Adeeva knows this is wrong. Yudistira already has a lover. However, Adeeva also needs a reason to stay. And now, Adeeva found it. Yudistira is someone who will be a big reason for the girl to survive in the dark world.
