As Ace opened the door in relief he soon took it back. The man at the door was one of the Hunter's from yesterday, this was the most inconvenient of timing but I couldn't turn him down.
I invited him in and he shrieked at the sight of my Father.
It looks like he knew who my father was.
"Ace. Who is this man?"
He was stuttering and sweating just like Ace was.
"Uhhhh. My name is Mistral."
"How come you've come to see my son?"
"You see I just wanted to talk to him about his hunt yesterday."
"His hunt yesterday? He doesn't have any skills, what hunt is it?"
"Yesterday he got his Hunter License and cleared an F-Rank Dungeon by himself with no damage to himself whatsoever."
"What?! My son is a Hunter and he hasn't told me?"
He gave Ace a death stare with a look that said. "We'll talk later."
"Now tell me, did you see what element my son has?"
"No, I didn't. All I know is that he's one of the very few Hunters that can attack in the dark safely."
"Well, what did you want to ask him anyway?"
"He is incredibly strong which is why I wanted to join his party."
"I see. My son who was still element less a few weeks ago is suddenly able to clear an F-Rank Dungeon alone."
Mistral left at a moment's notice after explaining while Ace's father had an angry look on his face.
He got up and he walked towards Ace, suddenly he brought his hand up and put it on Ace's shoulder and Ace was scared, but nothing happened. Ace was distraught, but because his father had done nothing, he was fine, which is what he hoped happened.
Ace fell straight to his knees and blood splattered out his mouth.
"Open up your status. NOW!"
His father was angry beyond what Ace had ever experienced. But he didn't yield or more so he couldn't speak with the pressure on top of him.
Ace's father was so angry that he completely disregarded the fact and made the pressure heavier and heavier.
Ace was going to die if this continued but he didn't want to show his skill, to his father of all people. The pain was becoming unbearable and right as he was about to use his skill to break out of it there was a knock on the door.
The pressure stopped and he made Ace go open the door.
"I told you to be ready. I'm taking you there now."
The Guild Master had saved him, and he was going to bring him to get his 3rd skill.
"Just wait a few minutes."
Ace closed the door and went in to tell that father of his but before he knew it, his father disappeared but perhaps that was for the better.
Ace got changed and then he went out and to the car of the Guild Master, his father was nowhere to be seen.
He got in the car and they went off.
"What happened to you? Who beat you this badly?"
"That's not something for you to know."
The Guild Master instantly quieted down and Ace was angry with his father.
"We are almost there, what Skill Book do you want?"
"Is there a Shadow Skill Book?"
"Shadow Skill Book?"
"I guess it's a no."
"I don't know any Shadow Skill Book. But you are free to look for it if you want. I have all the time for that."
"Actually. I have one in mind, I want one from the plant element."
"Plant Skill Books aren't easy to find."
"If a Plant Skill Book can't be found then ice."
Ace and the Guild Master made their way to the market where all the Skill Books were. The big and burly man cleared the path as he was well known here.
We found a shop that sells Plant-based Skill Books, but they were all expensive, even though they were E-rank Skills.
"This Skill Book right here. Allows you to accelerate a plant's growth but it requires lots of mana. This one right here allows you to restore a dead plant to life. This other one allows you to do the opposite and kill it. This one allows you to turn it into Vitality for a limited amount of time." Shop Owner.
Ace thought they were good but he wouldn't have enough mana for the one he wanted. He shook his head and he said, I don't want any of these.
"Is there a shop with sound?"
"Actually there is only one."
Ace and the Guild Master went directly to the shop and there was a dark purple Skill Book. The shop owner was incredibly sketchy but this was E-rank and worth it.
"What does this Skill Book do?"
"This Skill Book allows you to distort sound in a certain area and the higher the level, the better it can be distorted. Basically to say that I could make you hear things with sound distortion."
"How much is it?"
"$100,000"
Ace looked at the Guild Master as he knew what he had to do, besides it wouldn't affect him very much.
"We'll buy it."
The Guild Master looked at Ace with an annoyed face after he said those words. But now his part of the deal was done, and Ace had to fulfill his part.
He took Ace over to a room in his Guilds building. The White Tiger.
He opened the Skill Book and he passed out, his first E-rank Skill was a success.
He walked out and his hearing had increased.

[Sound Distortion sub-skill Hearing Enhancement has been activated]
He could hear the voice of all the people, not a single one on this floor alone couldn't be heard. But there was one conversation that was intriguing him.
Ace could hear the Guild Master's voice talking to what sounded like his father.
