Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

The Reset Agents put Ace into a chair and walked him down an aisle, where there laid many criminals, not that they could probably kill him but still, there were many.

"So, how'd this happen to you? The once weak person that couldn't lift a single finger against a person is now in the reset prison, how did it come to this? I wonder?"

Ace didn't answer, he simply sat still in the chair and let them move him, while The Reset Agent continued to ridicule him.

"I really wish I could be the one to reset you but sadly I don't have that much authority, the other unique is stronger. But even so, we will still have our fun."

Ace gave an angry and aggravated look but he still acted as if he wasn't fazed even if his facial expressions said "I want to kill him" But although Ace wanted that, he couldn't get that, he had to deal with the torment for basically the rest of his time in the reset prison.

Finally, after a tormenting tour of the whole place, he was taken to his cell in which there was another person. They opened the gate made of the same material as the handcuffs and they threw me in there.

In there people could freely use their power to fight fellow inmates and the guards would only laugh about it, but as Ace thought about it, he didn't mind, it was more so the perfect place for him to practice.

That type of environment is what made Ace's father the man he is now, a strong man that stands amidst the top of the world.

Ace wanted to be a man that could trample on the people that wronged him but sadly he was stuck in the reset prison.

Ace walked inside of his room and he sat down, as he sat down his cellmate, a skinny man with green eyes and pale skin looked at him from above as it was your typical prison with the bunk bed.

"I don't want to fight, I want to relax."

"Do you know that high ranker?"

"We have a complicated relationship."

The cellmate stopped asking questions about that higher-up and instead started to get more friendly.

"Hi, my name is Dean." He said that as he poked his arm out for a handshake, the man upside down wanted to be friendly with Ace.

Ace shook his hand with a fake smile but instantly Dean recognized.

"I know that you wouldn't trust as this is... well; a prison but I can assure you I won't be a problem in your time serving here."

Ace still wasn't confused, so Dean decided to stop there and he left him alone.

Ace fell asleep on his bed and he thought to himself about those weird phenomena in the two dungeons when randomly, he would fall asleep and then suddenly wake up to either a dead or a disappeared boss.

He couldn't help but think that it was because of Black Shadows as he recalled the Hobgoblin fight, right before he passed out. There was a significant phrase that he remembered from that.

[Will you embrace the shadows?]

He couldn't shake those words from his mind as he continued to hurt his head the more he thought about it. After a while, he decided to give up on it and he fell asleep in his bed, the first proper sleep he had in days when he wasn't drunk or in a dungeon.

"Wake up, it's time for breakfast!"

The guard woke all the people up as he banged on the bars and continued to say the same words over and over again.

All the prisoners could hear was his voice and the clanging of the bars and the baton stick.

"Get up now!"

Everyone started to get up including Ace, he stood up and stretched his whole body, he was feeling great even though he was in prison. But by the time the guard made his way to his cell, all the other prisoners had new clothes on and they stood with their hands behind their backs in their cells, except for Ace.

"You, what are you doing? Put the clothes on and stand there with your hands behind your back."

Ace shrugged a little at the comment and he proceeded to do exactly as he said but the guard didn't take the shrug lightly. He opened the gate and started to beat Ace, Dean stood by watching in fear as there was nothing he could do.

"This is why you listen to a Resetter."

By the time the guard was finished, Ace had 2 broken ribs and many bruises all over his body, luckily no injuries were life-threatening.

After Ace had finished getting ready again with all his injuries they took all the people to the cafeteria where Ace had to limp with his deep breaths and injured body, all the people sitting down looked at him as they knew what happened to him. It was basically a tradition to beat the new prisoner for the guards.

Ace wasn't satisfied with what happened and as time went on, he practiced with his skills, while also working out to gain strength the natural way, way before the apocalypse.

Before Ace realized it, it's been 3 years, in the reset prison where he did the same thing each day. This should've been the time he gets out and it was.

The cell opened for Ace and he walked out the remaining belongings he had, and during his 3 years in the prison he made memories with people that couldn't be forgotten and he fought people many times and got beat with them, he made many friends, many of which were strong.

He walked towards the door and said his goodbyes to all the prisoners that he was friends with, even the ones he wasn't friendly with, he'd miss them too.

Finally, he reached the doorway and he turned around and waved at a certain someone all the way at the end of the hallway, it was Dean and he waved back.

Suddenly something happened and the place started to shake, and it was shaking badly and aggressively, and for some reason, the two guards outside came sprinting inside and they shut the door behind them with a massive swing.

"What's happening?!" Reset Agent A

"We don't know, but it's not something we can survive." Reset Agent B

"One thing we know is that we won't be going outside for a while." Reset Agent C
