Chapter 1 - Expert Bullshitter

"Scram!"

"What about a buy one get one?" Claude persuaded as he grabbed the fleeing man's wrist and smiled awkwardly.

This was his tenth soon-to-be customer for the day, and he couldn't afford to lose this one. As for why they are labeled as 'soon-to-be', it's because he still hasn't had any customers who actually bought one!

His savings had practically run dry, so if he couldn't sell at least ten of his goods, he doesn't know what to do next. That's why desperate means needs to be used.

The man didn't even listen to anymore of Claude's nonsense, so he quickly slapped Claude's hands from his wrist and left in a hurry.

Claude rubbed his stinging hand as he looked at the back of his not-so-soon-to-be-customer-anymore. Sighing, he went back to his carriage and placed down the pearl bracelet onto a wooden box.

"I don't believe I can't sell these things!" He said full of unwillingness. But soon, his eyes became watery and he sighed, "I really want to go back to my previous world!"

Originally, Claude isn't from this world. He was just an ordinary college graduate. The only thing he remembered was going job hunting and hearing beeping noises as he crossed the street before a heavy force collided with his body.

When he woke up, he was already in this world.

This world was just like those worlds in anime and manga that Claude watched during his high school years, where knights and magic exists. Creatures such as Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, etc are no longer just mere fairy tail.

But with that said, in this world filled with all sorts of dangerous creatures, Claude found himself powerless!

Generally, transmigrators have some sort of cheat with them. Be it the soul of an old man, an overpowered ring inherited from his parents, or a system. But in Claude's case, he had neither of those things!

Furthermore, the body in which his soul had fused with is no more than a waste. As a person who came from the modern world, such a situation is basically a nightmare.

"Uhm... Do you sell pearl bracelets?"

Suddenly, a charming voice rang in his ears, which pulled him out of his thoughts.

Claude's eyes lit up and he quickly picked up the wooden box beside him. After which, he showcased it to the girl so that she could get a better look at it.

Frankly, the box looked quite plain and ordinary. Apart from the strange moon symbol engraved on the top of the box, one wouldn't assume that it held something great.

Clearing his throat, he said, "We do have pearl bracelets available!"

But then he shook his head in lamentation and continued, "But, I have no intention in selling it to you."

The girl was ecstatic at first when she heard that there were pearl bracelets available, but Claude's follow up words immediately took out her glimmer of hope.

Pursing her lips, she asked, "W-Why?"

A look of desperation flashed in her face and with hesitation she added, "I-I'll give you anything!"

'Yes!' Claude was ecstatic but he didn't show it to the girl.

Ignoring her words, he placed his hands behind his back and stared indifferently at the girl's desperate face. Just as the girl was about to speak, she heard Claude's voice in her ears.

"Anything?"

"Anything!" The girl replied directly.

Claude merely chuckled at her words as he paced back and forth and introduced, "The pearls in this bracelet had been extracted from a special breed of clams. In the morning when they wake up, these clams would get caressed by their breeders whilst they listen to classical music. Afterwards, they would get a massage from a 5-Star Masseur for one hour before moving onto the next part... "

"Let's not even mention the thread used for this pearl. It is made from the tail of a Lunar Tiger found deep within the Lunar Mountain. With its sheer ferocity and human-like intelligence, the Lunar Tiger is a beast to be feared. On top of that... Seeing that fate brought us together, I'll give it to you for only fifty silver taels! Even though I said that I won't sell it to you, the laws of the universe forbid me from just giving it away for free. I'm also doing it for your sake."

The girl was instantly dumbfounded.

Classical music? 5-Star Masseur? What's that?

Despite not having heard of those terms before, she was beyond elated.

From Claude's words, she could tell that the pearl bracelet he mentioned should be extraordinary. After all, the mention of those aforementioned terms alone brought chills to her spine, in spite of being clueless of their meaning.

As for the Lunar Tiger and Lunar Mountain, she hasn't heard of those as well. But she simply pushed it onto her ignorance.

After all, the Alterra Continent is vast and boundless, and she hasn't even fully explored Myriad Kingdom yet, so the existence of a Lunar Tiger and the Lunar Mountain is not too far fetched.

As for the hefty price of fifty silver taels, she completely ignored that. After all, what's fifty silver taels compared to such a rare pearl bracelet?

After he finished saying those words, Claude can't help but laugh and praise himself in his heart. The words he said were the exact same words of the old man who scammed him in his previous life with a bit of modifications.

As for the actual origin of the pearl, Claude just picked it up from the side of the road. Much less fifty silver taels, he believed it didn't have any value at all.

Regardless, he made sure not to show any emotions on his face. He still wants to continue this facade.

Suppressing her excitement, the girl grinned as she took out a full pouch from her person and extended her hands, "I'll buy it!"

Claude stared at the pouch with hungry eyes and grabbed it without hesitation. Then, he replaced it with the wooden box which housed the pearl bracelet.

Just as he was about to marvel in joy at scamming this poor girl out of her fifty silver taels, a blue orb with familiar words suddenly fell down from the girl's body.
