Kriiinggggg!
The classic alarm started to ring indicating that it's a new day. Sounds of birds chirping, the sunlight that streaming through the windows really is exasperating sometimes. So luminous, it made me shoved my pillow over my head, But then I remembered something.
Something that was so disturbing, something that can take my heart out of the ribcage. Many questions popped out in my head, all the emotions were ambivalent and the memories slipped piece by piece.
I reached for my phone and opened the calendar. Shit. My jaws dropped as my phone descended to the hard tilted floor. Shocked and disbelieving. "How can I be alive? Wait, how can I be 17 days before? What kind of conspiracy theory is this? I'm not hallucinating am I? Or was that just a dream? No… That's way too realistic to be a dream." I walked swiftly to the toilet and talked in the mirror like a maniac. My situation is really like a crazy person trying to deny that they're crazy!
"Lilith, darling. Hurry up, won't you? You don't wanna be late."
'Mom? Wait, my mother doesn't hate me?' I questioned myself, this kind of emotion really hit me hard at this point. Stepping out with incredulity, I went straight to the closet before my father holler my name.
"Lilith Donovan! I will count up until 10 or I will get up there and bring you down here!" My father, Chris Donovan, was a rigorous man. He never shows his love physically to me, by the look in his eyes, the way he smiles at me, everything is cold. But I knew deep down he still loved me as his daughter, at least that's what I thought.
"Coming, father!" I replied quickly as I grabbed my bag with a sudden devilish thought in the head. "Oh, Violette Knox. I won't let you get away this time. I swear to my life that I won't be weak. I'll make you beg for your life."
"No. No Lilith. You can't do that. That's evil. You're not evil." Denying it forcefully against my heart's desires. Makes my body once again uncontrollable, my eyes, my mind, my heart, my gut. Everything was a mess.
I walked down the deluxe stairs, counterfeiting my smile.
Unprepared and half-hearted.
CRESTVIEW INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
Staring at the sign, one by one traumatic past hit my mind and made me almost faint in front of this reputable school's gate. I step inside with a forceful but looking natural smile. My finger scrolled through my phone's calendar to check the date and that was when I knew that this life will be a whole different story.
Life which is full of revenge, chaos and bloodshed.
If I'm not mistaken, today is the day 'she' moved. Violette Knox. The mastermind of everything. The girl who made me live in hell for months, she's just a wretch.
Without any thoughts in mind, I made my way to the office. My eyes glanced all over the office lobby, trying to scan every person's there like a professional investigator. Shortly afterwards, I heard someone chortle, being a focal point and making me look in the direction of the deafening sound.
A girl sauntered out from the elevator, looking familiar before I recognized the outstanding way in fashion. That laugh. The only laugh that makes me go crazier every time it reverberates in my mind. All the things she did to me were so vivid and evocative.
I shook my head, staring back at her. She walked with full of pride like nothing ever happened between us, having bad blood from the very beginning was just a mess. As Violette steps towards the lavish entrance, I get myself out from the hiding place, straight in front of her.
"Hey, Violette." A solid smile got pasted on the face, but the venomous look in my eyes still conquered it all. My abrupt presence after weeks really made her shaken up. Slowly the shocked face turns to a sneer look after she realizes that it was me. It's always me, her greatest enemy in her life.
From that appalling face, I knew she's not pleasant at all. Violette hates it when she sees me around her 'place', but she still wore the poker face to insult me. No matter where we are at this moment, or how many eyes were on us, Violette doesn't care about anything when it comes to her burning anger.
"Why the hell are you here?"
"Just wanna say hi to you, is something's wrong with that?" I replied, sarcastically. Her burning glare went straight to my eyes before she hit my shoulder, hard. The cold air between us really attracts other officers, and they're frowned.
"Oops, sorry 'petty', please don't stand in my way next time."
Violette turned slightly and gave me a wicked wink before leaving me like a sculpture, solid and motionless. All negative feelings attacked my head, made me want to jump on her and beat her ass up. But I didn't, instead I speedily went beside Violette, walking along as I whispered. Just want her to hear.
"You should be careful, Violette. I swear to my life you won't be able to have a single chance to make me down." Those words obviously make Violette mad. Her face went red. I knew my words were compelling enough for her mind to be perplexed.
"Violette."
At the time she wanted to talk back, a voice came out our way. I stepped out faster, omitted her alone. The familiar voice out her name. James Knox, also known as Violette's father. The man who makes Violette hates me to the bone. The one who keeps comparing us like we're toys but still, Violette loves her father very much until she wants to prove that she's better than me. Even though she knew that it would never happen.
"Yes, father?" She responded like a good daughter to her parents. "Don't play around, you're not a child anymore." i'm not that far before her father recognized me and detained me. "Lilith? Is that you? What are you doing here?" I turned around, sent him a 'sweet' smile before declaring that I just wanted to meet her beloved daughter.
"Look at Lilith, she is always studying. But even when she's not, she is still a clever girl. Why can't you be like her? If she can do it, why can't you? Pattern after her, please." The anger that Violette's been keeping this whole time just keeps increasing, when her father blabbering the same speech again about me.
"I will, father."
