Chapter 4 - Chapter 3

Lilith

"May I take your order, miss?"

"Yeah, I'd like an ice honey lemonade."

"Okay, do you want anything else?"

"No thanks, that's all."

I smiled before handing the menu to the waitress as she left my table. My eyes wandered over the cafe, checking out every detail since it's my first time here. Everything took me off guard, the decoration, the designs, the menus… very captivating. But then, the mood ruined when I remembered the reason I came here. The reason why I am here.

"Ugh, where the hell is that bij-"

"Here's your order miss, enjoy your meal."

I sighed, thanks to her she brought my drink before I exploded with ferocity back. The nice glass with a lemon slice hanging on the edge… Such a vibe. Lemonade has been my favourite drink since I'm in love with the extra decoration when I first drank it at six. I even remembered that I asked the waiter to let me take one tiny umbrella for my glass. It's so fudging embarrassing to look back on it.

"Ugh, where the hell is she? She and her family are never right on time." I muttered alone before catching her figure standing at the cafe entrance. There she is, after 30 minutes of waiting. What? Does she think she's a princess or something? Over my dead body first!

I slightly poked my head to watch her being like a nice person. The guy looks familiar, but whatever. The thing that I know right now is they're wasting my time. The guy's finally out and she started to cat-walk toward my table.

"How did he die

"How did you know?"

"Are you behind his death?"

"How did you even know him?"

My mouth blurted out all the questions that I've been keeping in since this morning. Violette glared at me before rolling her eyes, "Why would I do that?" was her response.

Nice, questions answered by a question.

"Lilith, honey. Look. You literally show all your bad sides to me, don't you? I'm wondering what will they do if ermm you know? Is actually rude? I think you wouldn't mind if I do so!" She took a seat on the chair in front of me, taking a sip of my lemonade. How shameless she is.

"Look here, Miss Knox. I don't want to keep this conversation longer and you can take that lemonade for free. Just tell me where he is, and we're done." I said ending my decision.

"Are you deaf or something, Donovan? I already told you. Why would I know?" She put that little devil smirk on her face which made me annoyed.

I took my bag and left the cafe. I found a taxi and asked the driver to drive me to his house. Aiden's house.

"Aiden? Aiden?! Are you there?" I try to open the gate but it's locked. The house looks… somehow old and abandoned. I'm getting tired of pushing and finally climbing the gate. I was right. Even the interior looks old. There's no way I'm in the wrong house.

"Hello?" What if he's actually here? He's still alive, right?

Krekkk

I heard something from the kitchen. Like a loose board. Someone has to be here. The sound of footsteps getting near me. I turn around and see a figure with grey hoodies. I can't see the face clearly. He starts climbing and running outside. I have no other choice other than to follow their track.

"Hey!" I yelled as I saw them running and entering an intersection. As I entered the same intersection, I lost sight of them. I can't find them anywhere! But there's something I'm pretty sure about. I saw it once... In my past life. Yes. Where I was weak, and I won't be that little Lilith Donovan. Surprise surprise.

"I'm home!" The person is still running in my mind. There's a lot of questions in my mind. I don't understand the whole thing. How am I alive? How did he die? When did he die? Why am I here again? The things I see... Will it become true?

"Lilith? Hey darling? Is there anything wrong?" My mother walked into my room and asked, making me stop my daydreaming. "Oh. Mom. When did you enter?" My attention all goes to her. The same person who avoided me after the rumours.

"Are you really okay? You don't even realise that I'm here for 7 minutes now." She asked while caressing me. "I'm okay, mom. Would you mind if I get a little rest? I'm a bit tired." She nodded and went out.

My smile faded. I stood up and opened my laptop.

"AIDEN ÉMILE"

'NO SEARCH FOUND'

How? There's nothing about him here?

What time is it? I look at the wall clock. Ah.. so he will be home in 3,2…

"Honey, I'm home!" Father!

Author

"Violette."

Her father said out her name while reading the newspaper. She knows where this will lead her.

"Yes, father?" She tries to put her smile on like a sweet daughter to her parents. "Where did you go just now?" He asked.

"I was at the cafe. With Lilith. Just hanging out together like normal teenagers." She smiles thinking her father would let her go if she uses Lilith's name. Her father suddenly laughs and she is confused.

"Lilith? Violette. You just make yourself look pathetic. Standing alone beside her makes you look like a loser. Don't take it to heart. I said what I said and it's true. Why did I keep you in the first place?" He continued reading the newspaper after hurting Violette with his words. She may look like she's strong, evil and eager. But deep inside, she just wants her parents to appreciate her and not compare her to other people.

For her parents or basically everyone's, Lilith is the angel. Oh! Lilith is a genius! Oh! Lilith the beauty! Lilith Lilith Lilith. There's no day without hearing her name. Who doesn't want to be appreciated by their parents? Not even parents but… everyone. And Violette? She's also a beauty, and a genius. But always the second. The first runner up.

"I will be better than her, Father. Someday." She said with a tight face while his father just chuckled and mumbled "bullshit."
