Pink Star finally regained her senses when she saw who it was. "Oh, it's you brother Obcisor. I'm sorry I didn't recognize you. I hope I didn't offend you." She said in a low and timid voice.
"It's okay. I would rather be offended if you did recognize me. That would mean this mask is not working." Obcisor replied as he put the mask back on.
All of his items changed their looks to a more neutral one. His hair this time changed to green. He was unrecognizable from moments ago.
Pink Star looked in awe as the disguise skill came into effect.
"Why were you running from the snake?" Obcisor asked. He had noticed that the snake had lost a few HP, but not a lot. Which meant she must have attacked it. But then, why run and not kill it?
"I couldn't fight it, so I had to run." Pink Star was embarrassed to say that.
Obcisor thought for a bit and understood what was going on. " You don't have offensive skills, do you?" he asked.
"I do, but it's barely anything useful. I used all my skills on that snake and it didn't even manage to halve its HP." She said," Maybe I shouldn't have picked this Class. I can barely do anything in the game other than support."
She was starting to feel bad about choosing a supporting class rather than a class that could help her win fights.
"If you can't deal much damage, then how did you survive till now? Have you even earned any points?" he asked. She couldn't have been that useless right?
"Oh, I did earn some points. I partied up with a few players on the first day and killed quite a few monsters. Alas, we were separated when the game randomly teleported us. And I ended up in front of that snake." She said reluctantly.
'Ah, that makes sense. It's only me who never thought of partying up with others. Other players much are looking for parties, especially to kill the Wild Bosses.' He thought.
"Hmm… then do you want to party with me?" he asked. He decided to help her a bit since he was acquainted with her.
It seemed she was hoping he would party with her herself, so she immediately answered, " Yes, please party with me."
She seemed relieved now that she wouldn't have to worry about dying.
"Okay then." Obcisor opened his settings and requested her to join his party, which she swiftly accepted.
They started walking together towards the giant forest in the distance. Now that the land was halved, he would definitely see more players around.
He tried to make small talk with Pink Star, but she would only answer his questions and never ask ones of her own. In the end, he gave up on talking, and both of them walked silently.
Along the way, he found a few rabbits, and snakes. Monsters that could hide in the grass. There were also giant ants and worms in the grass. All of them gave him and Pink Star ample points.
They also found a few flowers and herbs along the way that they picked up. Obcisor found out that material points could not be shared, and instead the points went to whoever kept the materials.
Pink Star already knew this, so she brought up the idea of both of them getting one material each alternatively since the next one. Pink Star kept that material and Obcisor would now get the next one.
They also saw a few players on the way. Most of the players that saw them together would either run away or just hope they didn't come to attack them. There were a few who asked to join their party, but Obcisor denied them.
He didn't need anyone with him to earn points. He was only helping Pink Star because she was a friend.
Pink Star wanted to accept some of them, hoping they would be helpful to the party. But, she couldn't deny that there was no use for anyone in the party for Obcisor. Not even her.
So, she decided to keep quiet in case he stopped partying with her as well.
Finally, they reached the forest. The forest was massive, and the trees taller than he could ever expect them to be.
He could see birds high up on the branches. Most of them were colorful with feathers made up of red, orange, green, and blue.
"Hmm… Those birds up there must give some good points. Shame they are too far up, and I don't want to waste skills attacking that far." He said.
Pink Star looked up to see those birds perched upon the branches, and said, "I should be able to help you with that." She then brought out her staff and started casting a skill.
Suddenly, a blue feathered bird fell from the branches. Obcisor was shocked. 'What did she do?' he couldn't see any skills being launched.
The bird didn't move until it fell to the ground and crashed. Once it crashed, it was startled and started to fly away, but Obcisor wasn't going to let it.
He was already on the bird. He grabbed it by one of its wings and started stabbing in the back. The bird tried to attack with its talons and send some water attacks his way, but none were helpful.
Before long the bird was dead.
The bird was a level 46 monster, so the points got equally distributed among the two party members.
"What did you do?" he asked Pink Star. The bird didn't seem to be stunned or anything. It didn't look like it took any damage, and yet it didn't start flying until it fell.
"Oh, I used my Sleeping skill. I thought if I made the bird fall asleep, then it would lose its grip on the branch and fall down. And it did." She said proudly.
"That was really helpful, thank you," Obcisor said, which made her even happier. Her sense of uselessness was finally going away as a feeling of happiness washed over her and she smiled.
They continued to walk into the forest and killed a few more birds whenever Pink Star's sleep skill's cooldown was up. Pink Star was happy with the number of points she got. This was perhaps more than what she had gotten yesterday.
She was at a 5 man party, and the points weren't much at all when split among 5 different people.
After a few hours of walking, and fighting, and avoiding players, the pair finally came out of the other side of the forest.
"Woah" "wow" both were surprised at what they saw ahead of them.
In front of them, was a big pond. Big enough to be called a lake. All around the lake were green grasses, with some barren patches.
The lake was filled with blue, sapphire-like water. And in the middle of the lake was a small tree. The tree was nothing great, only a 5-meter tall tree.
But when Obcisor looked closely, he realized there was something unique about this tree, that he hadn't seen anywhere else.
This tree had 5 fruits on them.
