In the Life Hospital, Imperial city,
"Emergency!" A man from the ambulance shouted. He opened the door and pushed the bed outside with the help of his helpers. A nurse came running at the door and asked about the patient. She helped the man to push the bed inside the emergency room.
A resident doctor came quickly to check the patient. The nurse said, "It's a car accident, I guess he is still unconscious." While checking him with the stethoscope, the doctor asked, "Vitals?" The nurse replied, "BP is 70/40 and heart rate is 140"
The doctor found that his lung sound is getting weaker and said, "It's a Tension pneumothorax." Looking at the screen and patient he said, "First give him 10 liters of oxygen through a mask and give an IV to hydrate him." The nurse nodded and followed his order.
The resident doctor moved that patient in the operation theatre paged a contact number- Dr. Wang Lufan from GS and helped the nurse to do the things.
Just within seconds, a tall, well build man who was in his mid-twenties came. He was a fourth-year resident but he was more capable than a specialist so the chief gave him full authority to work as a specialist but after informing at least one senior.
He sanitized his hands and asked, "Vitals?" the doctor replied, "BP at 60/40. Heart rate is 128. He currently has internal hemorrhaging in his lower abdomen. It was a car crash." Dr. Wang first started with intubation and commanded, "20 mg of it" his movements were fast and smooth. He ordered some other instructions to the nurse and went to one side to scrub his hand and wear an operation gown, mask, and gloves. Till then the resident doctor started the procedure to take out the blood, "Pass me the chest tube" he told to the other nurse. Dr. Wang said, "Don't waste the time, use trocar." Like that the doctor told the nurse, "Give me the trocar."
Dr. Wang asked, "How many cc of blood we have for operation?" the doctor looked at the flask which has started filling with the blood, "400 cc's now, we've still got more coming out doctor." Dr. Wang went towards the table and said, "We are starting now." By saying this he started his operation.
The operation went well and he ended it before the standard time as usual. He directed some post-operation things to the nurse and went out of the operation theatre. He discarded his gown, gloves, and mask and went again to the emergency room to check other patients.
Another tall man come behind him and asked, "Had fresh start of the day with an operation?" Wang Lufan looked behind and saw a tall man, having the same height as him, a small face with black rimmed glasses. He laughed and replied, "Of course, else it doesn't feel like an energetic start. By the way, what happened Dr. Song?"
That doctor's name was Dr. Song Hao, from the Cardiac Surgery department. He was also in the fourth year of residency. He and Wang Lufan were friends since medical school abroad.
Dr. Song said, "For my new case, I need a GS too so can you come to my desk for a moment?" Dr. Wang nodded and they went to Dr. Song's desk. Dr. Song said sarcastically, "I thought you will reject since you are the only person in the GS department!"
Dr. Wang laughed and said, "Shut up! It's me who is desperate to have more experience."
They discussed the case and fixed the surgery date according to both of their schedule. Thinking of something, Dr. Wang asked, "I guess you wanted to continue your work abroad, how come you are here? I was pretty surprised yesterday."
A nurse came inside and asked Dr. Song about a patient. He gave proper orders, took a sticky note, wrote his number on it, and gave it to that nurse, "After the reports are out, give me a call on this number."
The nurse was busy checking out the two handsome doctors in front of her. She was feeling blessed to see two handsome doctors at a time. She accepted the orders and note, bowed to both of them, and left.
Dr. Song replied to his friend, "I know, but they were constantly getting into controversies so I left that hospital. Also, that mouse of us is now becoming a pain in the ass for us, uncle can't possibly handle his behavior alone, so I had to come."
Dr. Wang laughed at the thought of his friend's younger brother. He was indeed mischievous!
